Lonnie is survived by his mother Sylvester Lyles, his bothers and sisters Otha Lyles Jr., Opal Gillies, Alfred Lyles, Larry Lyles, Betty Clifton, Wayne Lyles and Devron Lyles. He is also survived by his uncle and a host of nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins. Also Loving great grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband Edward Loper and a daughter Mary Franke. John Lakusta Osborn
May 15 1945 - May 2 2004

John Lakusta Osborn passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 2, 2004 while residing in Kensington, California at the age of 58. He was a native son of San Marino, California. He worked for 21 years with Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco and was an avid enthusiast of outdoor sports, computers, photography, and most of all his family. He is survived by his wife of 34 years Marcia, his sons Martin, Cory, Nicholas, Daughter-in-law Erika, and grandson Jackson. He is also survived by his sister Carol Elaine Osborn, mother-in-law Bettie Pierce, brother and sister-in-law Mike and Vicki Grey, and a host of nephews and nieces. A Memorial service celebrating his life will be held Friday, May 21, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. at Chapel of the Chimes 4499 Piedmont Ave. Oakland, California.

Yoshie Kaufman
August 26 1929 - June 1 2004

Yoshie (Suzuki) Kaufman Beloved and loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother. Passed peacefully to her eternal rest at Kaiser Medical Center in Fremont on Tuesday June 1, 2004. Born August 26, 1929 in Tokyo, Japan to her Father and Mother, Hideo and Fuji Suzuki, who preceded her death. Yoshie was a Fremont resident for 32 years and is survived by Husband Kimber F. Kaufman of 46 years; daughters Linda of Fremont, Suzanne Calkins and Barbara Krueger (Tom) of Lebanon, OH. ; grandchildren Gered and Tommy Krueger and David and Kerry Calkins; Brothers Noboru, Takahide, Tadao and Yoshio Suzuki; sisters Mitsuko Nishi and Chieko Kobayashi all of Japan. Predeceased by brothers Moritaka and Isamu and her sisters Teruko and Chizuko.
Yoshie and Kim met in 1957 and marriage in Japan in 1958. Yoshie worked as a nurse and Kim as a Navy Hospital Corpsman. Yoshie came to the U.S.A. with Kim in May 1960. She became a very proud Naturalized U.S. Citizen in 1967. Kim made the Navy a career and Yoshie raised her family in the demanding career of a Navy Wife, having to cope with frequent separations, never once complaining. She devoted her marriage life to her husband, children and grandchildren to the exclusion of her own needs for which reason she will be sorely missed and forever loved by her family. Yoshie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in the early 1990’s and is now at rest with him in Heaven.

Yoshies remains will be laid to rest in a National Cemetery where she will be joined by her husband in the future. The family will have a private meditation with her remains before cremation. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 7, 2004 at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home.

Contributions may be made in her honor to the Nation Kidney Foundation, The American Heart Association or flowers can be sent for her services.

Yoshio Yamato
March 15 1915 - June 15 2004

Yoshio Yamato YOSHIO YAMATO Passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2004, in Oakland, at age 89. He was a longtime member of the East Bay Gardeners' Association, the Fukuoka Nikkei Jin Kai and the Buddhist Church of Oakland. Survived by his caring wife, Yoshie, sons Warren and Alexander, daughter Charlene, daughter-in-law Jane, and grandchildren Jennifer, Kimberly and Mari. A memorial service will be held at the Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland, on Saturday, June 26, at 10:00 a.m.

Linnette Ubarro
February 5 1976 - June 27 2004

Linette Carino Ubarro died last Sunday while vacationing in Florida from an automobile accident. Linette was born on February 6, 1976 in Honolulu, HI and grew up in Union City and Fremont. She graduated from American High School in 1994 and proceeded to California State University, Hayward where she graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Business Administration which helped garner her a position as an executive administrator with Kinetics Mechanical Services, Inc. Linette is survived by her parents Jesus and Lita and brother James.

Willie Augusta Jordan
December 9 1911 - July 14 2004

Our beloved mother was born December 9, 1911, in Bienville Parish, LA to the late Rev. Dan and Elizabeth Jackson Wedlaw. She went to be with the Lord on July 14, 2004 in Sacramento, CA. She was the youngest of 11 children, all of whom preceded her in death. She attended the University of Langston, OK and received a teaching credential. She taught 10 years in the elementary schools of Creek County, OK. She marriage Cleon William Jordan on June 3, 1936 and he preceded her in death on January 15, 1990. Three children were born to this union, Cleon Jordan, Jr. (wife Bessie), Michael Jordan, and Irene Johnson (husband Jimmie). She and her husband moved to California in 1945 and settled in Sacramento. They joined Union Baptist Church and later united with Allen Chapel A.ME. Church. She served many years as a Sunday School and Missionary Society teacher. She worked 22 years for the Federal Government and retired in 1973. She was a very caring and loving person and will always be remembered for her warm smile and generosity. The family invites you to attend a visitation on Thursday, July 22, from 4:00 to 8:00pm at Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes, 4701 Marysville Blvd., Sacto, CA. A homegoing celebration will be held Friday, July 23, at 11:00am at Greater Grace Worship Center, 5550 Sky Pkwy, Sacramento, CA 95823.

Anita Pilar Bortolin
July 7 1924 - August 21 2004

Bortolin, Anita Pilar “Sis” entered into rest on August 21, 2004. Loving wife of Cherubino “Bino” G. Bortolin; Beloved mother of Kathleen Wolfe and her husband Gary, and the Late Daniel Anthony Bortolin and his wife Ellyn; Caring sister of the late Alfredo Bermudez and Ramon Bermudez; Cherished grandmother of 7; Preceded in death by both of her parents Victoria and Horace Bermudez.
Anita attended St. Paul’s Catholic School in San Francisco and has been a faithful alumni. She marriage her husband Bino in November of 1949. A dedicated mother and grandmother. Her son Daniel passed away on July 20th, 2004. Past president of Unit 10 Fleet Reserves Association Women’s Auxiliary.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday August 28th, 2004 at 2:30 PM at Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 32992 Mission Blvd. Hayward. Vigil services will be held on Friday at 7:00 PM at the above mentioned funeral home with visitation from 5:30 to 830.

Nicholas Aristotle Cecchetti
September 27 1912 - September 16 2004

Nicholas Aristotle Cecchetti passed away on September 16, 2004. He was born September 27, 1912, in San Leandro where in his youth his friends and family called him”Babe”. He was the devoted husband of beloved wife of 62 years, Ruby Louise Cecchetti, who preceded him in death three years ago. He is survived by his two cherished daughters: Linda Koistinen and her husband Dale Koistinen; Barbara Ann Cecchetti and her fiancé, Ron Ravetti; his dear grandchildren, Eric Koistinen and Alison Koistinen; his sisters-in-law, Lucille Pieren and Marguerite Drobas; his brother-in-law, Louis Drobas; his nieces Janine Galli, Helene Twyford, and Norma Nash, and their husbands, Ed Galli, Al Twyford, and Jim Nash. He also leaves behind many beloved relatives and friends. The family thanks the Sisters of Mercy and their staff for the peace, joy, and spiritual comfort Nick experienced as a resident of Mercy Retirement and Care Center. Nick was bigger than life, full of love, and amazing in his ability to live each day to its fullest. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Tyyne Ahman died in Berkeley, CA on September 22, 2004. She is survived by her dear friend Janette Patnaude.
A native of Finland, she was 94 years of age. She was a retired Librarian with 27 years at the University of California.

Patricia Eleanor Brander
February 25 1925 - September 18 2004

PATRICIA BRANDER died on September 18 after a long illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Brander and loving mother of Cheryl and Stephen Brander of Alameda and Grandmother of Max Issaacson of Paris, France. She was the dear sister of Geraldine Romanos and Winifred Lyons of Boston, MA, Elmer Delventhal of Ballwin, MO, and Linda Greenberg of San Francisco, CA. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
A native of Massachusetts, she was founding member of Bay Farm Island Improvement League and was retired from Alameda County.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Christ Episcopal Church, Santa Clara and Grand Avenue in Alameda, CA on September 23, 2004 at 2:00PM.

Nolan Frank
January 1 1936 - October 16 2004

In the early morning hours of Saturday October 16th 2004, Nolan Frank passed away. He left behind a large mass of family and friends who will dearly miss him. Nolan Frank was many things to many people. Father, Brother, Mentor and Friend. His intuitive understanding of human nature lent him an uncanny wisdom. Charming, honest and loyal to all he loved, he taught us the value of humor, integrity and above all, family. He fought fiercely for all that he achieved, never believing that anything was beyond his grasp. A survivor in the truest sense of the word, his vibrancy and indomitable spirit will not be forgotten. Viewing will be held in San Francisco at Bryant Mortuary, 635 Fulton St. on Sunday, October 24th, 3-6pm. Quiet hour is 6-8pm. Evelyn Alexandrina Jenks

Evelyn A. Jenks A native of Edinburgh, Scotland and a long time Moraga resident passed away peacefully on October 20, 2004. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her loving husband Jim, two children, a grandson, her mother and her brother. Robert Earl Reed
February 18 1906 - October 31 2004

Robert E. Reed, 98, passed away on October 31st 2004. He was the loving husband of Sally Reed and father of Barbara Reed-Foster . Robert was a retired Oakland Police Inspector and a former catcher for the San Francisco Seals. A Celebration of Robert’s Life will be held on Saturday, November 6th 2004 at 1:00pm atChapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Ave. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Robert’s name to the Shriner’s Hospital. He will be sorely missed by family and friends.

Charles Lee Cerda
August 20 1981 - October 31 2004

Charles Lee Cerda passed in Oakland, CA on October 31, 2004. He was beloved son of Christopher Zamora and Patricia Sotelo. He was the dear brother of Serrita and dead grandson of Elvira Zamora. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A native of Oakland, CA, he was 23 years of age. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dorothy Reye Anderson passed away on Monday, October 18, 2004 is Oakland, California, Born in Sabethea, Kansas on November 18, 1915 she was the last of four daughters o Phillip and Emma Elizabeth Nickels. Dorothy taught school for few years before marrying Jefferson David Anderson on April--, 1945. Dorothy is survived by her only child, Carol Kotewicz Dencker of Oakland, California.

Born in the Philippines on July 6, 1946, she was 55 years of age. She was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother and a faithful partner for life. A born again Christian. She was a good humored person who took family matters, including raising her brother and two younger sisters whole heartedly. She graduated Olongapo High and attended two years of collage at Columban Philippines. She was an active member of Born Again Christian and “I Care Fellowship” from the Philippines and continued to Living Word Christian Fellowship.
The Loving mother of Brenda Dolores of Union City, Susan Domingo of Oakland and Andrea Carbonel of Fremont. Dear sister of Bebot Ledesma of Long Beach, Rebecca Esma of the Philippines, Ludy Fontelera on Union City, Gloh Alver of the Philippines, Joy Fontelera of the Philippines and Ding Fontelera on the Philippines.
