Helen Frances Petersen
DOWNEY - Helen Frances Petersen (nee Lammersen), a Downey resident since 1961, died July 11.
She was 83, born Nov. 13, 1914 in St. Cloud, Minnesota, and came to Downey from Tacoma, Washington.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kenneth Petersen, and a daughter, Christine Louise Anderson.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Jr., of Edmonds, Washington, and James of Bakersfield; seven daughters, Ann Marie of Thousand Oaks, Elizabeth of Scottsdale, Arizona, Judith of Lake Havasu, Arizona, Kathleen of Downey, Patricia of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Mary Ellen of Bothell, Washington, Celine of Rancho Palos Verdes; a sister, Mary of Spokane, Washington; and a brother, Clement of St. Cloud, Minnesota.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Cremation was by the Neptune Society.
Dorothy Louise Everett Zanercik
DOWNEY - There will be no services for Dorothy Louise Everett Zanercik, a Downey resident since 1947, who died here July 6.
She was born March 6, 1923 in Spokane, Washington, and enjoyed travel, while maintaining a small business selling art works.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Miroslav (John).
Survivors include four children, Diane, Johnny, Jerry, and Joann; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, Tiffany.
Wilma Evelyn Fisch
DOWNEY - A Funeral Mass was heard Wednesday, July 15, at Saint Raymond's Catholic Church for Wilma Evelyn Fisch, a Downey resident for seven years, who died July 9 at Downey Community Hospital.
She was 76, born Feb. 1, 1922 in Nebraska, and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Zane, in 1990.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Alice Fisch of Downey; and grandchildren Katie and Gregory Fisch.
The Reverend Father Steve Davoren officiated.

Burial followed at All Souls Cemetery.
Arrangements were by the Downey Zrelak Family Mortuary.
Francisco Baldaras, Sr.
DOWNEY - Funeral services for Francisco Baldaras, Sr., a Downey resident for 25 years and a pipefitter, were held July 10 at St. Raymond's Catholic Church in Downey.
He was 67, born in Rio Verde, S.L.P., Mexico, and came to the U.S. in 1953, settling in Chicago, Illinois.
In 1963, he moved to Southern California.
He was a member of St. Raymond's Catholic Church, and served in the U.S. military in Korea.
He was an active member of the Pipefitters's Union Local 250.
Survivors include his wife, Maria Lucila Balderas of Downey; his six children, Luz Marina, Lucy, Francisco, Jr., John Fitzgerald, Ernest and Elizabeth; and four grandchildren, Paul, Kennedy, Natalie and Miranda.
Father Stephen Davoren officiated.
Burial followed at Resurrection Cemetery in Montebello.

Norma Summers, 71
DOWNEY - A Funeral Mass will be heard today (Friday, July 17) at 9 a.m. at St. Raymond's Catholic Church for Norma Summers, a homemaker and a resident of Downey for 44 years.
She was 71, born in Eagle Rock, Maine, and died July 14 at her Downey home.
She was a member of St. Raymond's Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur; a daughter, Leslie; a son-in-law, Randy; grandchildren Joel and Ryan; and great-grandchildren Paige and Amber.
Burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery.
Arrangements were by the Miller-Mies Mortuary of Downey.
Sidney L. Barr
DOWNEY - Services for Sidney L. Barr, who coached for the Downey Junior Athletic Association and was known as Santa Claus in the Golden Park neighborhood, were held Wednesday, July 15, at the Miller-Mies Mortuary Chapel.
He was 72, born in Tennessee, and lived in Downey for 70 years.
He died July 9 at his home.
He worked for M & T Chemical for 41 years, and was a member of the Church of Christ.
He served on the Board of Directors of the Cerritos College Bench Club, and was on the Board of Directors of the Pico Rivera Chamber of Commerce.
In December, he enjoyed greeting hundreds of children on the front porch of the family home for which he won a decoration sweepstakes award from the City.
Survivors include his wife, Freida A. Barr; his sons, Michael and Jeffrey Barr; a daughter, Mary A. Barr; and a grandson, Matthew Bryant Barr.
John Belle-Isle officiated.
Burial followed at Inglewood Park Cemetery.
Arrangements were by the Miller-Mies Mortuary of Downey.
Julian Harry Plummer
DOWNEY - A vigil service will be held at 7 this evening (Friday, July 17) at the Downey Zrelak Family Mortuary Chapel for Julian Harry Plummer, a former 30 year resident of Anaheim, who died July 13 at Hearthstone in Medford, Oregon.
He was 80, born in Cicero, Illinois, Dec. 7, 1917, and moved to Grants Pass, Oregon, from Anaheim in 1992.
He worked for McDonald-Douglas for 20 years, and was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel, in 1984.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Richard (Linda) Plummer of Grants Pass, Oregon; brothers, Frank of San Diego, Victor of Downey; sisters, Edwina Seelke of Battle Creek, Michigan, and Loraine Dickhaus of Covington, Kentucky; six grandchildren and one great-grandson.
A funeral mass will be heard Saturday (July 18) at 9 a.m. at St. Raymond's Catholic Church, Downey.
Burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Downey Zrelak Family Mortuary.
Athanasios Roussos
DOWNEY - Funeral services for Athanasios Roussos, a resident of Downey, and self-employed at ABC Check Cashing of Santa Ana, were held Thursday, July 16 at the Greek Orthodox Church of Downey.
He was 51, born in Athens, Greece, and had lived in Downey, four months.
He previously lived in Cerritos.
Survivors include his daughter, Soteria Roussos; his son, Dino Roussos; a sister, Vicky Van Wanrooy; and his mother, Soteria Roussos.
Father Angelo officiated.
Burial followed at Rose Hills Memorial Park.
Arrangements were by the Miller-Mies Mortuary of Downey.
