Katherin Coronios
PARAMOUNT - Funeral services were held Thursday at Saint Sophia's Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Los Angeles for Katherin Coronios, a resident of Paramount who previously resided for 15 years in Downey, who died Jan. 4.
She was 72, born in Los Angeles.
Survivors include her daughters, Eve Tibbs of Yorba Linda, Mary Coronios of Laguna Niguel, Corinne Anderson of Westlake Village; brothers Harry Pappas of Downey and Mike Pappas of Rancho Mirage; and five grandchildren.
Burial followed at Inglewood Park Cemetery.
Arrangements were by the Downey Zrelak Family Mortuary.
William G. 'Bill' Bridges
DOWNEY - Memorial services will be held tomorrow (Saturday, Jan. 10) at 1 p.m. at St. Raymond's Church for William G. "Bill" Bridges, a resident of Downey, for 23 years, who died Jan. 2.
He was 57, born Dec. 11, 1940 in Boker, Texas.
Survivors include his mother, Georgia Bridges of Oklahoma; his wife, Kathi of Downey; sisters Judy Bridges of Menifee, Teresa Burroughs of Oakdale; brothers, Gary Bridges (Michelle) of Oklahoma, Kermit Bridges (Shirley) of Washington; sons, Steven Bridges (Pam) of La Mirada, Bobby Snarey (Teri) of Downey, and Bill Snarey of Downey; grandsons, Ryan Bridges, Jonathon Snarey; granddaughters, Peyton and Chelsea Snarey; and several aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Raymond's Church in care of Father Steve Davoren, 12348 Paramount Blvd., Downey 90242.
Raoul Jules Lemaire
DOWNEY - A Memorial Mass was held Dec. 23 at St. Raymond's Catholic Church for Raoul Jules Lemaire, a Downey resident since 1972, who died Dec. 19 in Downey Community Hospital.
He was 73, born April 24, 1924 in France.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Louise; his daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Ron de Hertoghe; his son and daughter-in-law, Pat and Anne Lemaire; two grandchildren, Miles and Abbey Lemaire; his sister and brother-in-law, Renee and Robert Brison of Belgium; his sister-in-law, Marie-Louise Lefabvre of France; and several nieces and nephews.
Father Steve Davoren officiated.
Private burial at sea was Jan. 6.
Stanley Jeziorski
DOWNEY - A Funeral Mass was heard Saturday, Jan. 3, at Our Lady of the Bright Mount Polish Catholic Church for Stanley Jeziorski, a Downey resident for 11 years and a former production foreman at U.S. Pipe for 27 years, who died at his home Dec. 29.
He was 77, born in Poland, and was a former resident of South Gate.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; his sons, Michael of Woodland Hills, James (Angela) of Huntington Beach; and a sister, Eva Chodnik of Poland.
Entombment followed at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Arrangements were by the Downey Zrelak Family Mortuary.
Jack Murphy
DOWNEY - Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 3, at the Downey Zrelak Family Mortuary Chapel for Jack Murphy, a Downey resident for 50 years and the owner/proprietor of an auto service station in Bell Gardens, for more than 25 years.
He was born in Wheeler, Texas, Oct. 7, 1926, and died at his home Dec. 30.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II and was Past Commander of the Clyde Hager Post No. 465, American Legion, of Bell Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Murphy; his sons, Michael of Downey, Steven of Olympia, Washington, Patrick of Arlington, Texas; and four grandchildren.
The American Legion officiated.
Private cremation followed.
Elaine Beverly Manson
SOUTH GATE - Graveside services were held Tuesday, Jan. 6, at the Inglewood Park Cemetery for Elaine Beverly Manson, a 10-year resident of South Gate, and a homemaker for 49 years.
She was 67, was a former resident of Hemet, and died Dec. 27 at the Interhealth Hospice House in Whittier.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace E. Manson in 1987.
Survivors include her sons, Dennis and Gary of South Gate; her daughter, Cheryl Pecka of Napa, Idaho; her brother, Edward Allen of Hemet; and three grandchildren.
Arrangements were by the Downey Zrelak Family Mortuary.
Roy James Reagan
DOWNEY - Graveside services were held Tuesday, Jan. 6 at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier for Roy James Reagan, a resident of La Palma and a former 43-year checker for Ralph's Markets.
He was 75, born in Butler, Oklahoma, and died Dec. 30 at Kaiser hospital.
He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps in World War II, and had been a member of a B-17 flight crew (photographer).
Survivors include his siblings, Emma Hopson of Downey, Betty Bissell of Lakewood, Amy Brannon and Glenn Reagan of Oklahoma.
The Rev. John E. Scarr officiated.
Arrangements were by the Downey Zrelak Family Mortuary.
Bruce George Rodgers
DOWNEY - Graveside services were held Dec. 31 at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier for Bruce George Rodgers, a Downey resident for two years and a computer operator for the E.D.S. Corporation for 36 years, who died at his home Dec. 28.
He was 59, born in Pennsylvania Nov. 7, 1937.
Survivors include his daughter, Carrie Rodgers of Downey; and eight siblings.
The Rev. Mr. Charles Denisac officiated.
Arrangements were by the Downey Zrelak Family Mortuary.
