Robert Thomas Ford
Passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 17, 2003 at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital at age 33. He was a resident of Petaluma and a Portland, Maine native. Bob attended Platt High School in Meriden, CT but graduated from NOVA Adult Education after moving to Novato. He had worked in the tow service industry for the past ten years. Bob was an avid billiard player and skier. As a child he was a member of the Mt. Southington Ski Racing Team. Bob will be greatly missed and always be in the hearts of his family and friends. He is survived by his children Kayla and Justin Ford and former spouse Carrie A. Ford, all of Novato; parents Thomas and Fern Ford of Casco, Maine; brothers Kevin Ford and his wife Joann of Bridgeton, Maine and Darren Ford and his wife Rosanne of Meriden, CT; his maternal grandmother Idella Pennell of Casco, Maine; nephews Chris, Mike and Tommy; and niece Jessica, all of Maine. Born July 7, 1931 in Salt Lake City Utah, died February 14, 2003 at the age of 71. Her husband of 35 years, radio and television personality Lu Hurley preceded her in death in 1989. She is survived by her daughter Trish Hurley of Walnut Creek, her son Peter Hurley of Kelseyville, her stepdaughter Eve Geertsema and son-in-law Rick Geertsema of Novato, and three grandchildren: Kristin Geertsema of Sonoma, David Geertsema of Novato, and Cheyenne Hurley of Kelseyville. Mrs. Hurley resided in Marin County for 40 years. Antoinette "Toni" Sciaroni
Age 80, died January 25, 2003 at her home in Corte Madera. No services are planned at her request. A Fresno native, she lived in Mill Valley and Corte Madera for over 50 years. She was a graduate of UC Berkeley and Hastings Law School. Her survivors include a brother, Dr. Lloyd Sciaroni and his wife, Barbara, of Fresno; nephews, Dr. Brian Sciaroni, Dr, Matthew Sciaroni, both of Fresno, and Bretton Sciaroni, of Cambodia; stepdaughters, Jane Letson Cavalli, Petaluma, and Ann Letson Roberts, Sebastopol, and step granddaughter, Lisa Hitchcock, Reedsport, Oregon. Josephine Bricarelli
Passed away February 17, 2003 in San Rafael at the age of 73. She was born in Castlebar, Ireland as one of 11 children from the Mulgrew family. A resident of Terra Linda for the past 37 years, she is survived by her beloved son Hugh and daughter Susan Bricarelli. Also, her sister Margaret Keaney of Galway, Ireland and her brother Patrick Mulgrew of Dublin, in addition to 48 nieces and nephews. Josephine, an R.N. of 30 years had trained in London, England for 5 years and then worked in N.Y. and on to S.F. where she met her belated husband Hugo Bricarelli from Buenos Aires. She had a very strong compassion for those less fortunate and a loving heart for all animals. Connor Flint Corsiglia
Beautiful infant son of Chris and Stacy Corsiglia of Greenbrae. Born February 10, 2003 at Marin General. Connor passed away at UCSF on Sunday, February 16, 2003. He fought bravely and left us peacefully to join his unborn sister, Carissa, who ascended in January 2000. Connor leaves his grieving parents, grandparents, and a multitude of loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. We had so little time with you, but it was cherished nonetheless. Connor's family would like to extend our sincere thanks to the many Doctors and Nurses of the UCSF Intensive Care Nursery. Their professionalism and compassion were a blessing. Died in Santa Rosa, CA, Sunday, February 16, 2003 at age 61 years. Beloved father of Michael F. Donovan and Patrick T. Donovan. Loving brother of Francis Donovan and Robert Donovan. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was a native of Syracuse, New York. Mr. Donovan was a retired Lieutenant with the Marin County Sheriff's Office. He was a very active member of Petaluma Lodge #901 B.P.O.E. and was a Past Exalted Ruler. Edward E. Gaspar
Ed went to his reward somewhat unexpectedly Monday morning, February 17, 2003 at the family home at Sandyland. He was born at his parents' home in Geyserville, Sonoma County April 24th, 1921. His family roots run deep in Mendocino County with his predecessors having arrived there in the 1850s. Indeed his ancestry was very "American" starting with immigrants in the 1600s to New England and ending by 1804 when Manoel Gaspar jumped ship in Maine. Ed joined the Merchant Marines as "able body sailor" in 1940. His service in the war earned him the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He retired in 1948 with his "First Officer's License". He had many interests including sports car racing and frittering in his machine shop but his real passion was bird shooting and fine guns. He met the love of his life, Katherine Kaime at an officer's party in San Francisco in 1944. They were marriage December 29th, 1945. He is survived by his wife Katherine, a sister Leona, his six children: Alvah, Cecil, Arthur, Orman, Laura, and Elena, his nine grandchildren: James Gaspar, Katheryne Gaspar, Dominique Gaspar, Eric Finer, Rebecca Finer, Michael Horak, Nathan Horak, Christina Horak, and Andrew Horak. He will be fondly remembered by his friends and family for his "curious" sense of humor. A Service will be held Saturday morning at 11:30 AM at St. Joseph's Church in Carpinteria. Eleanor Kasman Cloth Israel
Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died peacefully at home on January 12, 2003, age 88. She was born Eleanor Kasman on the lower East Side of New York on July 28, 1914, the daughter of Russian immigrants. She had a sister, and four brothers who all preceded her in death. In 1945, she marriage Walter Cloth. After she was widowed in 1954, she raised their two daughters. In 1969, she marriage Solomon Israel, who died in 1986. Eleanor was a long-time resident of Miami Beach, Florida. For the past 18 years she made her home in San Anselmo with her daughter Jane Cloth-Richman, son-in-law Jeffrey Richman, and granddaughters Jessica and Jenna. Daughter Fredi Triandafillou, granddaughters Esther Krinsky and Tracey Dunne, and great-grandson, Aidan Dunne of New Mexico, also survive her, as well as granddaughters Alison Ferst and Eleni Triandafillou of New York. Prior to marrying she was a lingerie designer in New York. She was also a talented seamstress and used these creative gifts throughout her lifetime. While in Miami Beach she volunteered for many years for the 52 Association. While living in San Anselmo, she volunteered and taught sewing classes at the Osher Marin JCC and assisted in making the quilt on display in the Senior Lounge. She also volunteered at the Whistlestop Senior Center for 15 years where she had many friends and enjoyed creating sewing and needlework projects for donating to the community and for the annual fundraising bazaar. We are deeply saddened by her loss and we will miss her greatly. In accordance with her wishes, no services will be held. Memorial contributions in her name will be accepted with gratitude by Hospice of Marin.
Erna Kraemer
Erna was born in 1942 in Poland of German ancestry. Believed orphaned at age two she and her brother were raised in Germany by foster parents. In 1954 the children were reunited with their dad in Canada. She marriage her husband Hans in 1960 in Vancouver B.C. and in 1961 they moved to San Francisco. A wonderful wife and mother, she created an attractive, loving Christian home. She helped construct their home in Marin, and was a talented and accomplished gardener. While her children were young she ran a home day care. Later she studied business and Spanish at College of Marin. She worked at PG&E for 20 years. She is survived by her husband Hans, of 43 years, three children, six grandchildren, three parents, two siblings, a large extended family, and good friends in Austria, Germany, Canada, and the U.S. Friends may call to Monte's Chapel of the Hills, 330 Redhill Avenue, San Anselmo on Friday, February 21st between 3 and 8 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 22nd at 3 PM at the chapel at Valley Memorial Park Cemetery, 650 Bugeia Lane in Novato. Frank Raymond Sullivan
A long time resident of Novato and native San Franciscan died at the age of 77 on February 18, 2003 after his battle with cancer. He left behind his beloved wife Ruth, daughter Sheila and grandson Kevin. During WWII he served in the submarine service. After his duty in the military Frank joined the San Francisco Fire Department; a job he always loved. Even after he was injured in an off duty accident, he remained a devoted fire fighter in spirit. He will be remembered for his years of service as an owner of Desoto Cab Company. Every passenger became his friend. He had a love for travel, a keen sense of humor and a passion for golf. He was a long time member of the Marin Country Club. He will be missed by his devoted family and many friends. A Celebration of Frank's Life will be held on Saturday, February 22nd at 1:00 p.m. at the Valley Memorial Park Chapel, 650 Bugeia Lane, Novato (off Atherton).
