Unexpectedly on July 13, 2003, Jennifer Alana Cifuentes crossed over into eternal life. She is the cherished daughter of Howard and Jeanne Rodgers of Novato, and Greg Chamberlin of Huntington Beach; loving wife of Mario Cifuentes and devoted mother of Danny, Meghan, and Madisen. She is also survived by brothers Patrick and Mark, as well as numerous loving relatives and friends. Jennifer came into this world on January 18, 1973 in Reno, Nevada and grew up in El Cerrito. Though her life was brief, she fulfilled her fondest dream of becoming a mother. Her life was her family, immediate and extended. We will miss her infectious smile, vibrant personality, and generous ways. Her mother will never forget her darling little ice skater. Being a true survivor, she overcame much adversity. She entrusted us with her most precious gifts, her babies, until we meet again. Friends may visit on Thursday July 17, 2003 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at Keaton's Redwood Chapel. Passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 14th, 2003 at the age of 82. He was a long time resident of Novato for over 55 years. His gift of caring for others and commitment to family and friends will be missed by all of us. Thomas F. Cook
Passed away June 28, 2003 in San Rafael at the age of 87. Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Margaret Cook of San Rafael. Loving father to Thomas (Pamela) Cook of Santa Rosa, Kenneth Cook of Toledo Oregon, Michael (Rochelle) Cook of Novato. Loving brother to Donald Cook of Ojai and Dell Latour of Sonoma. Thomas retired from Arneson Pool Sweep and later worked part time at T&B Sports restringing tennis racquets. Thomas enjoyed playing tennis with his friends at Albert's Park in San Rafael and also enjoyed gardening and visiting with his friends on E Street. David Thomas McCue
Died Saturday, July 12th, 2003 from Leukemia, which followed his two year battle with Lymphoma. He was 35. He is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Susan, and playful two year old daughter, Zoe, as well as his devoted mother and father, Patricia and Mark, who were all at his side, along with close friends. Dave is also survived by his loving grandmother, Virginia, his uncle Tom, and cousins. Dave was a native of Syracuse, NY and had lived in Marin County, California for the last six years. He moved to Marin County to pursue his career in the software industry and developed a love of hiking and biking in the natural surroundings of Marin, particularly on and around Mount Tamalpais. Dave was a skilled technologist, an enthusiastic businessman, an avid hiker, and an artist with interests and accomplishments in music and visual arts. Dave's many friends delighted in his strong personality: a constant sense of humor, a twinkle in his eye, and was gifted in the verbal arts. Dave also delighted in sharing fine food and wine with friends and family. Above all, though, Dave was devoted to his young family, and relished the two years he had to spend with his daughter. He will greatly be missed by his family and many friends, and will live on through them. Helen Robinson
Helen Robinson, daughter of Emma and David Rosenfeld, died July 11, 2003 at age 94 at home in Kentfield, California. Born in Austro-Hungary, Helen emigrated to Chicago, IL as a small child. While marriage to Jack Robinson, Helen became president of the Chicago Chapter of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society. For eight years during and after World War II, she worked to resettle 22,000 Jewish war refugees into the greater Chicago area. She represented Chicago-HIAS to a then fledgling United Nations conference on refugee resettlement. Chicago Mayor Kennelley recognized her accomplishments with a special proclamation. Helen continued to demonstrate and exemplify her leadership abilities throughout her life. For many years, she sang in the choir of B'nai Jacob Synagogue, Chicago. Before moving to California in 1982, Helen was president of the Skokie JCC's Senior Club. At the age of 79, Helen became the oldest woman to become a bat mitzvah at Temple Sherith Israel, San Francisco, CA. Helen is survived by her daughters Sondra Markim (Alfred) of Piermont Landing NY, Dorothy Sharlin (Gerald) of Highland Park IL, and Vivien Bronshvag (Michael) of Kentfield CA, as well as ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Her eldest daughter, Eileen Cohen (William) of Las Vegas, Nevada predeceased her this past February. Scott "Scottie" Campbell, III
Passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2003, peacefully in his sleep, after a year long battle with cancer. Born to Elizabeth and Scott Campbell, II, on July 28, 1955, he is survived by his partner of ten years, Rose Morales, his mother Elizabeth, sisters: Mary (Deedee) Campbell, Alan Cornell and Suzanne Washburg. After graduating from Hinsdale High School in Chicago, he continued his education graduating from Michigan State University with a B.S. in Restaurant Management and will forever be remembered as the "Restaurant Doctor". Working the past 13 years at Pete's 881 Sports Bar in San Rafael, he is remembered and loved as he always took the time to listen, advise, provide smiles and laughter, the occasional matchmaking services (resulting in marriage!), and the emergency phone numbers needed to keep friends in touch with each other. He always enjoyed people -- all people. Scottie spent his leisure time traveling with Rose, playing golf, sports, theater, music, fine dining, wine tasting and being in the company of his countless friends. Always the gentleman, exuding class and style, he will be remembered and missed by all who knew him. A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15th at St. Raphaels Mission Chapel in San Rafael. In lieu of flowers, his wish is that contributions be made to Hospice of Marin.

Passed away July 8, 2003 in Tiburon at age 91 years. Loving mother of Joan Dieckmann of Novato, survived by seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren. She was a native of San Diego, CA, a member of St. Hilary's Women's Club, and a resident of Tiburon for the past 70 years. Phyllis Ann Keegan
Age 70, of San Anselmo, died peacefully with her family at her side after a brief illness. Surviving her is her loving husband John of 46 years; a son, James Gregory Keegan; two daughters, Michelle Annette and her husband Jeff Wynne and Adele Marie and her husband Shawn Langwell; two grandchildren, Andrew Langwell, 7, and Nicoli Wynne, 5. Two brothers, William and Donald Johnson, also survive her. In addition, numerous relatives in Portage, Wisconsin survive Phyllis. Phyllis worked as a stewardess for Trans World Airlines in the mid-fifties before she marriage John. She later worked for Macy's in San Rafael from 1975 to 1981. She was active in the St. Anselm PTA when her daughters attended St. Anselm School. She was also active in the United Cerebral Palsy of Marin. In her limited free time she loved to play tennis. Phyllis was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She truly loved her grandchildren. Her laugh was endearing and her sense of humor was a joy to all who knew her. She truly loved life and was loved. Phyllis will be greatly missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity. The family would especially like to recognize and thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at Marin General Hospital for how well they cared for Phyllis during her stay at the hospital and for their consideration and kindness to Phyllis and her family. At the request of Phyllis, her family held a private memorial.

Born Mathilda Auguste Reuter in Wurzburg Germany. She passed away on July 6, 2003 with her daughter Heidi, son-in-law Todd, and her partner Bill Howey by her side. Hedy will be remembered for her fun loving spirit. Hedy loved a party. Being with people socializing and telling jokes was when she was happiest. She loved dancing, especially to German music and romantic melodies. She will be missed at many local establishments she frequented and was often the life of the party. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who gave her family the riches of love and play and joy. She was a lively friend to many. We will miss her high energy and fun spirit. A Memorial Service will be held in celebration of her life on Friday, July 11th at the Christian Church of San Rafael located on Los Ranchitos Road at 3:00 p.m. All who loved her are welcome.
George E. Croke
September 2, 1920 - June 6, 2003
George Croke, 82, passed away June 6th, 2003 after a short illness. He passed peacefully at his home in Yountville with his sons by his side. He is preceded in death by his wife of 39 years Yvonne, who passed in 1985, and is survived by five sons: George Dalmon of Ashland OR, Bob Croke of Tahoe Vista CA, Mike Croke of Incline Village NV, Joe Dalmon of Petaluma CA, Jon Croke of Manhattan NY, and five grandchildren. George was a long time Marin resident. He and Yvonne moved to Marin from San Francisco in 1947. George was born and educated in San Francisco; he attended Saint Ignatius High and the University of San Francisco. He also served in WWII in the South Pacific as a Commanding Officer of a Minesweeper. George owned The House of Color in San Anselmo for many years, and then went on to a long career in investments before retiring in 1984. He was active in several local associations, including San Anselmo Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, Director of Marin Estate Planning Council, a member of Marin General Hospital's Board of Directors, and Vice-President and Director, Association of California Hospital Districts. George had a love for his country and a respect for those who serve in uniform. George Rae Angus, Jr.
Passed away in Santa Rosa on July 6th, 2003 at age 70. He was the loving husband of the late Doris Mary Heckman Angus. Beloved father of Jill Anderson and Janette Angus, both of Santa Rosa. Dear grandfather of Stephen and Kristina, and dear brother of Robert Angus of Rocklin. Loving friend and companion of Irene Albrecht. He was a native of San Francisco, CA, and a U.S. Army Veteran. Mr. Angus was a parishioner of St. Eugene's Cathedral and was a member of the Forgotten Men's Club, Newcomers Club, Santa Rosa Garden Club and the Butchers Union Local #115. George was marriage to his childhood sweetheart, Doris Mary Heckman for 46 beautiful years and celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in Maui, their favorite place to be with their family. In 1992, George and Doris moved to their dream house in beautiful Santa Rosa, CA where they built a Japanese garden and enjoyed visiting the beach regularly.
