Jerry Cryer, 72
CASA GRANDE, Ariz. - Jerry Cryer, 72, died Friday, Dec. 3, 1999, at Desert Valle Care Center in Casa Grande.
Born Sept. 25, 1927, in Guthrie, Texas, she lived in Casa Grande for 17 years. She was a co-owner of a grocery store before retiring.
Mrs. Cryer is survived by her husband of 35 years, Elmer Cryer of Casa Grande; son Terry Hamilton of Escondido; daughter Janis Hamilton of Escondido; stepdaughters Linda Netherton of Valley Center, Barbara Nelson of Rogue River, Ore., and Susan Cryer-Johnson of Escondido; brothers Don Boone of Anaheim and Roger Boone; grandchildren Timeri Constable, Ryan Dunlad, Kyle Hamilton, Devin Hamilton and Ian Hamilton; and great-grandchildren Nicholas Constable and Julian Dunlad.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, Dec. 8, at Mountain View Cemetery in Casa Grande, with the Rev. Rick Lemberg officiating.

Curtis Warren, 78
OCEANSIDE - Curtis L. Warren, 78, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at his home.
Born July 1, 1921, in Hartshrone, Okla., he lived in Oceanside for 20 years. He worked for El Camino Country Club before retiring and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a prisoner of war in Japan from 1943 to 1945 and a member of the Sunset Masonic Lodge No. 1388 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Mr. Warren is survived by his wife of 20 years, Frances Warren of Oceanside; daughter Kathryn Burkhart of Lincoln City, Ore.; stepdaughter Jeanette Ayers of Alameda; brother Robert Warren of Falls Church, Va.; sisters Louise Henderson of Scranton, Ark., and Mary Jane Hensley of Texarcana, Ark.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. today, Feb. 8, at Eternal Hills Mortuary. A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Oceanside. interment is scheduled for 12:15 p.m. at Eternal Hills Memorial. Park.

Louis Zuniga, 62
ENCINITAS - Louis Martinez Zuniga, 62, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000, at Scripps Hospital in Encinitas.
Born Aug. 25, 1937, in Chino, he lived in Encinitas for 50 years. He was a supervisor for the city of Escondido Water District before retiring and was a member of Elks and Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Zuniga is survived by his wife of 45 years, Rita Zuniga of Encinitas; son Ruben Zuniga of Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico; daughter Virginia Ruth of Carlsbad; brother George Zuniga of National City; sisters Angie Gonzales and Dolores Lara, both of Victorville, Alice Zuniga of Chino and Eva Zuniga of Pomona; and four grandchildren.
Viewing was held and a rosary recited on Monday, Feb. 7, at St. John's Catholic Church in Encinitas, with the Rev. Timothy Hartnett officiating. A funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, also at St. John's Catholic Church.

Richard Seefeld, 88
OCEANSIDE - Richard Seefeld, 88, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, in Oceanside.
Born Dec. 30, 1911, in Wisconsin, he lived in Oceanside for 22 years. He was retired from grocery business management and was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 611 in West Valley.
Mr. Seefeld was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Seefeld, in 1992. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Jack Easton of Studio City; sister Bernice Shevey of Wisconsin; granddaughter Jennifer Cusumanto of Burbank; and several nephews and nieces.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at Laguna Vista Mobile Home Park clubhouse.

Ronald Crane, 58
OCEANSIDE - Ronald E. Crane, 58, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, of heart failure, at UCSD Medical Center.
Born April 17, 1941, in San Bernardino, he lived in Oceanside for 13 years. He was a major in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving two tours of duty in Vietnam before retiring in 1986.
Mr. Crane was preceded in death by his father, Walter F. Crane. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Lorrea Crane of Oceanside; mother Viola Moore Crane of Paris, Ark.; mother-in-law and father-in-law Bonnie and Dean Roelle of Bullhead City, Ariz.; daughters Bonnie Crane, Alisa Crane and Erin Crane, all of Oceanside; brother and sister-in-law Dennis and Debbie Crane of Paris; granddaughter Xena Jean Crane of Oceanside; friend Julianne Grandin Crane of Spokane, Wash.; and several nephews and nieces.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in Point Loma.

Donald Meyer, 70
RAWSON, Ohio - Donald J. Meyer, 70, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000, at Palomar Medical Center.
Born Feb. 23, 1929, in Columbus Grove, Ohio, he lived in Rawson. He was a farmer and worked for Cooper Tire and Rubber Company in Findlay, Ohio, for 32 years before retiring. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Leo Council No 957, United Rubber Workers Local No. 207, American Veterans Post No. 21, Loyal Order of Moose No. 698, Ohio Farm Bureau, all of Findlay, and Eagles Club of Ottawa, Ohio.
Mr. Meyer is survived by his wife of 52 years, Edith D. Harter Meyer; sons Robert E. Meyer of Findlay, D. Richard Meyer of Lexington, Ky. and Thomas E. Meyer of Rawson; daughters and sons-in-law Marcia S. and Dennis E. Caudle of Escondido and Dolores A. and David Verbonitz of Tulsa, Okla.; brothers Gordon Meyer of Dayton, Ohio, and James Meyer of Defiance, Ohio; sisters and brothers-in-law Rosemary Begg, Maxine and Paul Henderson and Catherine Ruhe, all of Columbus Grove, Alma and Frank Chambers of Findlay, Louanne and Donald Selhorst of Kalida, Ohio, and Teresa and Steve Irwin of Belle Center, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

E. Joan Cesinger, 63
RAMONA - E. Joan Cesinger, 63, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at Villa Pomerado in Poway.
Born July 2, 1936, in Oswego, N.Y., she lived in Ramona for 10 years. She earned a bachelor's degree in education from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., an co-authored 44 books in the field of primary and secondary education. She was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and the PEO Sisterhood.
Mrs. Cesinger is survived by her husband of 43 years, John R. Cesinger of Ramona; mother Gladys Wagner of Cedar Falls, Iowa; sons Michael Cesinger of Boston, Richard Cesinger of San Diego and Steven Cesinger of Tarzana; brother Dr. William Wagner of Columbia, Mo.; sister Jacqueline Vandercreek of Durand, Ill.; and grandchildren Monica and Hunter.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, at Bonham Bros. & Lee Ramona Chapel, with the Rev. Alex Dreese of the First Congregational Church officiating. interment will take place at a later date in Reinbeck Cemetery in Iowa.

ESCONDIDO - Orvin E. "Steve" Stephens, 80, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, in Escondido.
Born April 13, 1919, in Canadian County, Okla., he lived in Escondido for 37 years. He was a commercial property owner.
Mr. Stephens was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Stephens, n 1985. He is survived by his son, Gary Stephens of Santa Monica; and daughter and son-in-law Karen and Joe McCoy of Valley Center.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, at McLeod Mortuary Chapel. A private Burial will take place at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

POWAY - Erin Nicole Hollingers, 7, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, in San Diego.
Born June 11, 1992, in Loma Linda, she lived in Poway for seven months. She was 1st grade student at Escondido Adventist Academy and a member of the Fallbrook Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Erin is survived by her mother and father, Sharon and Rick Hollinger of Poway; and grandparents Marvin and Beverly Peters of Redlands, Alice Severns of Sanger and Richard Hollinger of Fresno.
Visitation and viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, at the Fallbrook Seventh-day Adventist Church. A funeral will follow at 2 p.m., with the Rev. R. Peter Neri officiating. A private family Burial is planned.

LAKE SAN MARCOS - Virginia Emily Rogan, 84, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at a local convalescent home.
Born March 10, 1915, in Syracuse, N.Y., she lived at Lake San Marcos for 27 years. She was a homemaker for 30 years and was a member of the Lake San Marcos Golf Club.
Mrs. Rogan was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Rogan. She is survived by her friend, Rose Mary Brown of Lake San Marcos.
No service will be held at the request of the deceased. A private cremation is planned.

LONG BEACH - Gary Richard Newell, 51, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, of pneumonia at Hoag Memorial Presbyterian Hospital in Newport Beach.
Born Aug. 24, 1948, in Fontana, he lived in Long Beach for 25 years. He graduated from Poly High School and Occidental College and was a project manager for Unigraphics Solutions in Cypress.
Mr. Newell is survived by his fiance, Cynthia Stanford of Milwaukee; parents Dean and Helen Newell of Murrieta; brothers Kirk Newell of Ramona and Glenn Newell of Scotts Valley; and sister Laurie Huxsol of Tucson, Ariz.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, the First Congregational Church in Riverside.

VISTA - Edgar Albert Schuermann, 56, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, in Vista.
Born Nov. 23, 1943, in Luzern, Switzerland, he lived in Vista for 10 years. He was a self-employed master sculptor who studied art in Italy.
Mr. Schuermann is survived by his wife of 32 years, Sandra Schuermann of Vista; daughters Chermaine Schuermann, Carla Schuermann and Rebecca Schuermann, all of Vista; brother-in-law Richard Zimmerman of San Diego; and sisters-in-law Antoinette Barr of San Diego, Judith Arnold of Switzerland, Sherry Miller of Gig Harbor, Wash., and Vicki Fox of Escondido.
