E. Robert Ackerman, 77

MURRIETA - E. Robert Ackerman, 77, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, at his home.

Born Aug. 27, 1922, in Emmaus, Pa., he lived in Murrieta for five years. He was a teacher for the Valley Center School Center for 20 years. He was a volunteer with the Boy Scouts and a member of the Lions Club, Masonic Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Pearl Harbor Survivors.

Mr. Ackerman is survived by his wife, Arline Ackerman of Murrieta; sons Dale Ackerman of Warner Springs and Dennis Ackerman of McCall, Idaho; daughter Claire McCrann of Sudbury, Mass.; sisters Jean Moyer and Isabel Frederici, both of Hamburg, Pa., and Claire Valaer of Walla Walla, Wash.; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at the United Methodist Church in Murrieta.

Roberta Tuoly-Dilli, 59
OCEANSIDE - Roberta Corkill Tuoly-Dilli, 59, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, in Oceanside.

Born Aug. 27, 1940, in New York, she lived in Oceanside for more than 20 years. She worked for Pacific Bell and was the founder of the S.C. Portuguese Water Dog Club.

Mrs. Tuoly-Dilli is survived by her mother, June Robedee of New Jersey; daughters Jennifer Dilli of Oceanside, Denise Mohler of Clovis, Catherine Hix-Ohama of Nebraska and Susan Pererais of Florida; brother John Tuohy of Florida; sisters Charlotte Slemmons of Florida, Patricia Young and Gail Sabo, both of New Jersey, Alice Ross of Los Molinos and Bababra Sprague of Red Bluff; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, at Eternal Hills Mortuary. A Mass will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at Mission San Luis Ray Parish Chapel. Burial will follow at Eternal Hills Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 12405 Rancho Bernardo Road, Suite 100, San Diego, CA 92128.

Ascension Castaneda, 79

VISTA - Ascension S. Castaneda, 79, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, at her home.

Born Jan. 11, 1921, in Banning, she lived in Vista for nine years. She was a member of Vista Assembly of God Church.

Mrs. Castaneda is survived by her husband of nine years, Benito Castaneda of Vista; son Ricky Cortez of Murrieta; brother Nicholas Samora of Sacramento; and sisters Natividad Escobar of Los Banos and Pauline Martinez of New Mexico.

No service will be held at the request of the deceased. A private Interment will take place at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

The family suggests memorial donations to Elizabeth Hospice, 150 W. Crest St., Escondido, CA 92025.

George McDonald, 64

SOUTH PASADENA - George Thomas McDonald, 64, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, of an abdominal aneurysm.

Born in Fallbrook, he attended Palomar Community College, transferred to College of the Pacific and graduated from UC Santa Barbara. He worked for an insurance company in Los Angeles while attending law school and opened his own law firm, working as a trial lawyer and specializing in malpractice litigation. He authored several legal texts and lectured to medical seminars.

Mr. McDonald is survived by his wife, Linda McDonald; son Joseph McDonald; and three brothers.

A private cremation was held.

David Liljegren, 40

OCEANSIDE - David A. Liljegren, 40, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, in Oceanside.

Born Oct. 28, 1959, in Racine, Wis., he lived in California since 1988. He was a 1977 graduate of Park High School and a member and head usher at the Evangelical United Methodist Church. He attended Embry-Riddle-Aeronautical University at the Daytona Beach, Fla., campus and the Prescott, Ariz., campus. He received a bachelor of science in business from Winona State University in Minnesota. He was a co-pilot for D.W. Davies Co. in Racine and a flight instructor at Meadowlark Airport in Huntington Beach. He co-owned and operated the Certified Forklift Training Center in Irvine and co-authored an instructional book on forklift training.

Mr. Liljegren is survived by his mother and father, Peggy and David Liljegren of Racine; friend Michele Michaels; uncles and their wives, Richard and Phyllis Liljegren, Donald and Tereza Love, Bill and Linda Gordon, Lon Gordon, Gary and Janet Gordon; aunts and their husbands, Jane and Don Andrews, Edwina and Dave Steele, Evelyn Gordon and Darryll Noble, Grace and Dan Wellendorf, Lynn and Richard Meiners and Ruby Gordon; great aunts Dr. Sylvia Tucker and Margaret Boltz; friends Chanhday and Liane Phanhdara of San Pablo and Teng Mangkhalichanh of Fresno; and many cousins and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Feb. 25, at Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home in Racine. A funeral service is scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Racine, with the Revs. Harold Zimmicha and Sid Carrera officiating. Interment will follow at Mound Cemetery.

Jerome Stehly, 70

VALLEY CENTER - Jerome Stehly, 70, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, of a heart attack, in Valley Center.

Born Nov. 25, 1929, in Orange, he lived in Valley Center. He was a self-employed rancher and a member of Anaheim Poultryman's Association, a board member of Production Credit Association, a 52-year member of Knights of Columbus, a board member of Valley Center Municipal Water District and a Rotarian.

Mr. Stehly was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathleen Stehly, in 1986. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Peg Stehly of Valley Center; sons and daughters-in-law Al and Lisa Stehly and Noel Stehly, all of Valley Center, Matthew and Erin Stehly and Neal and Kam Stehly, all of Carlsbad and Jerome and Christina Stehly of San Diego; daughters and son-in-law Claire Giuffre and Virginia and Dan Yourg, all of San Diego; brothers John Stehly of Fullerton, Jim Stehly of Filmore, the Rev. Tom Stehly of Cypress, Nick Stehly of Valley Center, Arthur Stehly of Escondido, and the Rev. Mark Stehly of Seattle; sisters Mary Schaner of Placentia, Irene Devlin of Lafayette, Winnie Mamer of Fullerton, Suzanne Stehly of Anaheim and Sister Virginia Stehly of Los Angeles; and 11 grandchildren.

Visitation and viewing will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today, Feb. 25, at Alhiser-Comer Mortuary. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Valley Center. A private Burial is planned.

Cora Munoz, 71

ORACLE, Ariz. - Cora T. Munoz, 71, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at her home in Oracle.

Born Feb. 1, 1929, in Benson, Ariz., she lived in Pauma Valley for 23 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Apostolic Assembly.

Mrs. Munoz is survived by her husband of 52 years, Mike Munoz; son Michael Munoz of Escondido; daughters and sons-in-law Nancy Munoz of Vista, Sylvia Munoz of Rancho Cordova, Helen Garnet of Oracle, Rita and Michael Cooper of Escondido; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held in Tucson, Ariz. Burial will take place in Oracle.

The family suggests memorial donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Lydia Marlette, 67

ESCONDIDO - Lydia Katherine Marlette, 67, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, at Palomar Medical Center.

Born March 6, 1932, in Wexford, Penn., she lived in Escondido for 28 years. She was a special education teacher for the Escondido Union School District, teaching at Grant, Rose, Del Dios and Juniper schools. She was a volunteer at Palomar Medical Center for 10 years.

Mrs. Marlette is survived by her husband of 22 years, Steve Marlette of Escondido; son Larry Reitz of Meridian, Idaho; daughters Kathleen Tschogl of Sacramento and Linda Nielsen of Escondido; and 14 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, at McLeod Mortuary Chapel, with the Rev. Earl guy officiating. A private cremation is planned with cremains to be scattered at sea.

Wendy Hunt, 34

MURRIETA - Wendy Hunt, 34, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, after undergoing treatment for breast cancer, at her home.

She served in the U.S. Marines and worked for the Marine Corps Community Services for seven years.

Mrs. Hunt is survived by her husband, Warrant Officer James Hunt, USMC; mother and father Glee and Merle Whittemore of Vallecito; son Samuel Antes; stepdaughter Amanda Hunt of Porterville; brother Wayne Whittemore of Madera; sister Choral Trettevik of Lodi; grandmothers Rae Latta of Tucson and Helen Whittemore of Phoenix.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. today, Feb. 25, at Murrieta United Methodist Church. A private cremation is planned and Burial will take place at Vallecito Cemetery.

Marie Robles, 71

MURRIETA - Marie A. Robles, 71, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, of cancer.

Born June 18, 1928, in Palmdale, Pa., she lived in Murrieta for five years. She was a production manager for Prison Industries in Chino for 20 years.

Mrs. Robles is survived by her sons, Manuel Macias of Whittier and Daniel Robles of Murrieta; brother Mario Alarcon of Baja; sister Olga Martinez of Los Angeles; grandchildren Lynda and Natalia Macias of Whittier, Sonia, Sarah, Steve and Scott Robles of Murrieta; and great-grandson Aldan Ruiz of Whittier.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. today, Feb. 25, at St. Gregory the Great Church in Whittier. Burial will follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park.

Richard Bastian, 79

SUN CITY - Richard James Bastian, 79, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at Sun City Convalescent Center.

Born April 4, 1920, in Victorville, he lived in Homeland for 20 years. He was an industrial engineer for Lockheed Aircraft for 39 years and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a life member of the American Legion.

Mr. Bastian is survived by his first wife, Georgie Bastian of Homeland; second wife Neva Bastian of Homeland; daughter Patricia Schwartz of Homeland; brother Robert Bastian of Woodland Hills; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 11 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 28, at Miller-Jones Mortuary & Crematory in Sun City. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m., with the Rev. Quinn Hawley officiating. Burial will take place at Carpenteria District Cemetery.

Dolores Wright, 65

QUAIL VALLEY - Dolores Wright, 65, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, of emphysema at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Riverside.

Born Dec. 4, 1934, in New York City, she lived in Quail Valley for nine years. She was a homemaker for 29 years and a cashier at the Moose Lodge in Quail Valley.

Mrs. Wright is survived by her husband, Edward Wright of Sun City; sons William Adams of San Jose and Ray Usey of Iowa; daughters Cathy Chapman of Sun City, Cindy Chapman of Chino Valley, Ariz., Sharon Doyle of Apple Valley, Connie Goodrick of Yucca Valley, Christine Wright of Reno, Nev., and Corina Wright of Palm Springs; sister Margery Richardson; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. today, Feb. 25, at the Moose Lodge in Quail Valley.

Robert Brady, 83

SUN CITY - Robert Sylvester Brady, 83, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at his home in Sun City.

Born Dec. 31, 1916, in St. Louis, Ill., he lived in Sun City for 27 years. He was a rigger for the Long Beach naval shipyard for five years and served in the U.S. Navy as a boatswain's mate and in the fleet reserve, retiring in 1972.

Mr. Brady is survived by his wife, Pauline Brady of Sun City; daughters MaryAnn Apilado of Fairfield and Carmen Camper of Charlotte, N.C.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A funeral service was held Thursday, Feb. 24, at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church. Burial took place at Riverside National Cemetery.

Stanley Smith, 79

CHULA VISTA - Stanley L. Smith, 79, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, in El Cajon.

Born Jan. 5, 1921, in West Virginia, he lived in Chula Vista for 12 years. He was a self-employed carpenter for 20 years and served in the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Smith is survived by his son, Dennis Smith of Boston; daughter Nancy Smith of Pala; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation and viewing will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today, Feb. 24, at Berry-Bell & Hall Chapel. A private cremation is planned.

The family suggests memorial donations to the American Heart Association, San Diego County Chapter, PO Box 3625, San Diego, CA 92163-1625.

John Fuhrmann, 79

OCEANSIDE - John F. Fuhrmann, 79, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000, at Tri-City Medical Center.

Born Sept. 5, 1920, in Springfield Township, Marquette County, Wis., he lived in Oceanside for 47 years. He owned and operated Oceanside Plating Works for 20 years before retiring.

Mr. Fuhrmann is survived by his wife of 47 years, Rosalie Fuhrmann of Oceanside; son and daughter-in-law Jeffry and Beth Fuhrmann of New London, Pa.; sisters and brothers-in-law Vaudice Mills of Endeavor, Wis., Zona and Edgar Miske of Allenton, Wis., Norbert and Peg Berger of Montello, Wis.; sisters-in-law Dolores Fuhrmann of Milwaukee, Margaret Meyer of Weaverville, N.C., and Eleanor Berger of Portage, Wis.; grandchildren Marlee and Dustin of New London; and numerous nephews and nieces.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date in Wisconsin.

The family suggests memorial donations to the American Heart Association, PO Box 3625, San Diego, CA 92103; or Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1900 South Nevada St., Oceanside, CA 92054.
