Kurt Koenigsmann, 64
RAMONA - Kurt A. Koenigsmann, 64, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, of kidney failure.
Born Jan. 4, 1936, in Oberhausen-Steckrade, Germany, he immigrated to Canada in 1959 and later to the U.S. He received an apprenticeship as a tool and die maker in Germany and worked for Polaris Plastic Injection. He enjoyed restoring old cars, golfing and playing the accordion.
Mr. Koenigsmann is survived by his wife of 29 years, Ana E. Koenigsmann of Ramona; daughters Wendy Koenigsmann of Ramona and Heidi Koenigsmann of Portland, Ore.; mother Katerina Konigsmann of Germany; sister Brunhilde Huttermann of Germany; and nephew Jurgen Huttermann of Germany.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, at Bonham Bros. & Lee Ramona Chapel, with the Rev. Paul Nelson of Grace Community Church officiating.

Ross Davidson, 60
SAN MARCOS - Ross J. Davidson, 60, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, of cancer, at his home.
Born March 12, 1940, in Los Angeles, he lived in San Marcos for 32 years. He worked for Heller Ford and was a member of La Mesa Golf Club.
Mr. Davidson was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Davidson, in April; his brother, Jim Davidson, in September; and his father, James Davidson, in August 1960. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Bonnie Davidson of San Marcos; son and daughter-in-law R.J. and Lynne Davidson of Jamul; daughters and sons-in-law Kelli and Alex Rodriguez and Carri and John Calumpit, all of San Marcos; sister and brother-in-law Elaine and Bob Peck of Anaheim; grandchildren Danielle and Kevin Calumpit, Preston, Vincent and Mitchell Davidson and Jaselynn Rodriguez; niece Christy Peck of San Diego; and nephew Dennis Peck of Beaverton, Ore.
A celebration of life for his friends and family will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, at his home.

VISTA - Bruce Allen Campbell, 27, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, in Vista.
Born Dec. 29, 1972, in Oceanside, he lived in Vista for 27 years. He worked for Easterling Construction.
Mr. Campbell is survived by his wife, Shannon Trujillo of Porterville; mother Janice M. Houston of Temecula; stepfather Teodocio A. Valdovinos of Vista; daughter Audrey Lynn Campbell of Santee; brothers James L. Campbell and Ted A. Valdovinos, both of Vista; and sisters Michelle Thompson, Desiree Valdovinos, Blanca Valdovinos, Agricola Valdovinos and Janice Valdovinos, all of Vista.

SUN CITY - Carolyn Lee Vermillion, 68, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, of heart failure, at Hemet Valley Medical Center.
Born June 26, 1932, in Kentucky, she lived in Sun City for 10 years. She was a waitress for more than 40 years, working last at 76 Truck Stop in Ontario. She enjoyed reading, riding motorcycles and the mountains.
Mrs. Vermillion is survived by her son, Mike Tinnon of San Antonio; daughters Julie Thexton of Menifee and Debbie Whisel of New Castle, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, Jan. 2, at Miller-Jones Mortuary Chapel, with the Rev. Tom Lance officiating.

Georgia Willard, 83
SUN CITY - Georgia Hazel Willard, 83, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, of cancer, at her home.
Born Dec. 13, 1917, in Oskaloosa Iowa, she lived in Sun City for four years. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, playing bridge, golfing and doing volunteer work. She was a member of the hospital auxiliary in Spencer, Iowa, a coordinator for the Red Cross Bloodmobile at Sharp Hospital for eight years and a member of the First Christian Church Women's Circle in Spencer. She enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of the Murrieta United Methodist Senior Group.
Mrs. Willard is survived by her husband, Dwight Willard of Sun City; sons and daughter-in-law Stephen and Marianne Willard of Tarzana and Lynn Willard of San Diego; sisters and brother-in-law Mildred Carson of Marshalltown, Iowa and Patricia and Wayne Grabenbauer of Beaufort, S.C.; grandsons Jeffrey Willard of Tarzana and Bradley Willard of Valley View; and great-grandson Stephen Willard II of Tarzana.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, at Murrieta United Methodist Church.

MURRIETA - Ruth Olive Langston, 71, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at Rancho Springs Medical Center.
Born Aug. 28, 1929, in Paterson, N.J., she lived in Murrieta for 27 years. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, gardening, watching television and reading.
Mrs. Langston is survived by her husband, Robert Langston of Murrieta; sons Kenneth Langston of Santa Ana, Donald Langston of Yorba Linda and David Torres of Murrieta; daughters Barbara Torres of Oxnard, Roberta Doverspike of Costa Mesa, Patricia Langston of Winchester and Rayanne Centeno of Norco; sister Barbara Langston of Anaheim; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Tuesday, Dec. 26, at Valley Funeral Home. A funeral service took place on Wednesday, Dec. 27, at the mortuary. Burial followed at Riverside National Cemetery.

PERRIS - Ramona Caro, 74, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000.
Born in Robstown, Texas, she lived in Perris for five years. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Ann's Church in Santa Ana.
Mrs. Caro is survived by her daughter, Mary Lou Aquilero of Anaheim; brothers Rupert Garay, Nicholas Martinez, Jose Martinez and Carlos Garay, all of Texas, and Luis Garay of Riverside; sister Maria Tovar of Orange; six grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Paul Benner, 87
SUN CITY - Paul Curtis Benner, 87, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, at his home.
Born Jan. 6, 1913, in Malborough, Ohio, he lived in Sun City for three years. He was a switchman for the Southern Pacific Railroad in California for 30 years and served in the U.S. Army from 1938 to 1944. He enjoyed lawn bowling and traveling the U.S. He was a member of the Sun City Methodist Church and served as a medical technician in the U.S. military during World War II.
Mr. Benner is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marjorie Benner of Sun City; daughter and son-in-law DonnaLynn and Michael Muleady of Fullerton; and grandsons Jeffery P. Trausch of Japan and Shawn Muleady and Shady Muleady, both of San Francisco.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at the United Methodist Church. Burial will take place at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery.

Curtis Tyree, 67
SAN DIEGO - Curtis T. Tyree Sr., 67, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, of heart failure, at his home.
Born Jan. 17, 1933, in Tipler, Wis., he lived in San Diego for 42 years. He attended Escondido High School and was a machinist for General Dynamics for 37 years. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955 and coached Little League in Loma Portal.
Mr. Tyree is survived by his wife of 42 years, Estella "Sweetie" Tyree of San Diego; sons Curtis Tyree Jr., and Jess Tyree, both of San Diego; daughters Barbara Waterman and Lisa Thomas, both of San Diego; brothers Bob Tyree and Jim Tyree, both of Escondido; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in Point Loma. A private cremation is planned, with cremains to be scattered at sea.

Robert Brewster, 80
SAN DIEGO - Robert Hamilton Brewster, 80, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000.
Born Feb. 1, 1920, in New York City, he lived in San Diego for the past 13 years. He graduated from Purdue University in 1942 and served in the U.S. military during World War II and as a reservist during the Korean War. He worked for Cornell University's Cooperative Extension in Riverhead, N.Y., for 29 years and earned a master of science in agronomy economics from the University of Florida. He was a member of the First church of Christ, Scientist in Rancho Santa Fe and a member of Common Cause, an environmental group, and local bridge groups.
Mr. Brewster is survived by his wife, Gloria Brewster of San Diego; sister Shirley Fouts of Ensenada, Mexico; children Robin Okun of Zurich, Switzerland, Robert Todd Brewster of Dallas; stepson Kevin Barry of Agoura Hills; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, at the Del Mar Powerhouse.

Douglas Mordick, 52
ESCONDIDO - Douglas B. Mordick, 52, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at his home.
Born July 8, 1948, in Manhattan, Kan., he lived in Escondido for 22 years. He was a construction superintendent for Collins General Contractors and worked at San Onofre Power Plant for 10 years. He served in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970. He was a 1966 graduate of Poway High School and a member of Lakeside Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Mordick is survived by his wife of 19 years, Jean Allgaier of Escondido; mother and father, Mildred and William Mordick of Poway; son Jason Mordick of Escondido; daughters Deana Mordick and Michele Mordick, both of Escondido; brother William Gregory Mordick of Spokane, Wash.; and sister Susan Baran of Chattaroy, Wash.
A memorial service will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 7, at 1620 Easter Place in Escondido, with Bill Downing officiating. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Born Dec. 14, 1902, in Georgetown, Idaho, she lived in Escondido for one year. She was an accountant before retiring in 1981.
Mrs. Pinney was preceded in death by her husband, Wilford V. Pinney, in 1980. She is survived by her granddaughter, Marsha Pay of Valley Center; and great-granddaughter Erin McKibben of Valley Center.

OCEANSIDE - Andres M. "Lobo" Rodriguez, 60, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, at Pomerado Hospital.
Born Nov. 23, 1940, in Mexico, he lived in Oceanside for 40 years. He was a member of Laborer's International Union Local No. 89.
Mr. Rodriguez is survived by his wife of 35 years, Bertha Rodriguez of Oceanside; mother Placida Martinez of Mexico; father Refugio Rodriguez of Mexico; son Gail Andres Rodriguez Jr. and Ruben Rodriguez, all of Oceanside; daughters and son-in-law Rosemaria and Arturo Calderon and Bertha Alicia Rodriguez, all of Oceanside; sister Celia Cobian of Vista; and grandchildren Laura Alicia Bill, Ricardo Calderon, Yessica A. Born Aug. 7, 1909, in Meade, Kan., he lived in Escondido for 22 years. He was a real estate salesman for 40 years and a member of the Escondido Joslyn Center Blind Club.
Mr. Friesen was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Friesen, in 1999. He is survived by his daughter, Delores Lindley of Escondido; granddaughters Lauren Phelps of Escondido and Cindy Bartges of San Marcos; five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. today, Jan. 4, at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Burial will follow.
