COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - Agnes Barbara Barton, 86, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000.
Born July 13, 1913, in Wenatchee, Wash. she lived in Coeur d'Alene for 10 years and had lived in Chula Vista. She worked at the Chula Vista Community Hospital for 22 years.
Mrs. Barton was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Roy Nelson Barton. She is survived by her daughters, Mona Upchurch of Vista and Barbara Farmer of Coeur d'Alene; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandsons.

Bernice Nakken, 71
LAKE SAN MARCOS - Bernice Louise Nakken, 71, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000, at her home.
Born March 31, 1928, in Redlands, she lived at Lake San Marcos for 25 years. She was a homemaker for 52 years and past president of the Lake San Marcos Republican Assembly of North Coast. She was a member of the Lake San Marcos Christian Women's Club, secretary for the California Republican Assembly of North Coast, a member of Emmanuel Faith Community Church and choir for 25 years and a Bible study fellowship leader.
Mrs. Nakken is survived by her husband of 52 years, Howard J. Nakken of Lake San Marcos; daughters and sons-in-law Linda and Buzz Wynbeek of Rockford, Mich., Janie and Philip Hardy of Escondido and Maryanne Teich of Lake San Marcos; sister Fran Prins of Three Rivers; and grandchildren Anna and Rick Wynbeek of Rockford, Grant and Craig Hardy of Escondido, Elise Durrance of Stanford and Garrett Teich of Lake San Marcos.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, at Emmanuel Faith Community Church, Building 6, with the Rev. Tim Mayfield officiating. A private family inurnment will take place at San Marcos Cemetery.

George Mitchell, 68
VISTA - George W. Mitchell, 68, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2000, in Vista.
Born June 22, 1931, in Clarkson, Texas, he lived in Vista for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Korea and Vietnam and worked for the North County Transit District for 17 years. He was a member of the Chosin Few.
Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Mitchell of Vista; sons and daughters-in-law Timothy S. Mitchell of Escondido, David W. and Suzanne Mitchell of Carlsbad and R. John and Julie Mitchell of Mission Viejo; daughters and sons-in-law M. Dianne and Ramie T. LaBelle of Oceanside and Linda S. and Mathew Souza of Tigard, Ore.; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at Eternal Hills Mortuary, with Chaplain David Plank officiating. A private inurnment will take place at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

VISTA - Samuel Rojas, 55, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2000, in Oceanside.
Born June 20, 1944, in Texas, he lived in Vista for 40 years. He attended Vista High School and was an engineering contractor and owner/operator of an excavation business.
Mr. Rojas is survived by his wife of 32 years, Esther Rojas of Vista; mother Amelia Torres of Oregon; sons Eric S. Rojas and James Rojas, both of Vista; daughter Vanessa C. Rojas of Vista; brothers Hector Torres and Noe Torres, both of Oregon; sisters Delila R. Martinez of San Diego and Annie Silva of Oregon; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, at Eternal Hills Mortuary. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 20, also at Eternal Hills Mortuary. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

OCEANSIDE - Inez D. Thacker, 89, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, at a local convalescent home.
Born Aug. 27, 1910, in Habersham County, Ga., she lived in San Diego County for 23 years. She was a registered nurse for 41 years, working with the Ponce de Leon Infirmary in Georgia. She was a member of the San Luis Rey Methodist Church in Oceanside.
Mrs. Thacker is survived by her sons, John Thacker of Peachtree City, Ga, and Jack W. Thacker Jr. of Bowling Green, Ky.; daughter Jan Elliott of San Marcos; and grandchildren Steve Elliott of Cardiff, Cheryl Elliott of San Marcos, Kaitlin Elliott of San Luis Obispo and Alexandra Thacker and Blythe W. Thacker, both of Peachtree City.
No local service will be held. Interment will take place on Friday, Jan. 21, at North Atlantic Memorial Park Cemetery in Doraville, Ga.

Donald Radmacher, 84
COUER D'ALENE, Idaho - Donald N. Radmacher, 84, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2000, of pneumonia, in Couer d'Alene.
Born June 5, 1915, in Oquawka, Ill., he lived in Fallbrook for many years. He worked for Standard Oil of California from 1939 to 1950. He owned and operated a Chevron station in Fallbrook from 1950 to 1978.
Mr. Radmacher was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Radmacher. He is survived by his son, Bob Radmacher of Hayden Lake, Idaho; stepdaughter Carol Saindon of Blythe; and grandchildren Brian Saindon, Amber Donley, Shawna Brantner and Shasta Radmacher.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, at the Fallbrook Masonic Cemetery.

OCEANSIDE - Robert Ralph "Coach Pursell" Pursell, 93, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2000, in Oceanside.
Born May 25, 1906, in Waukena, he lived in Oceanside for 30 years. He was a high school physical education teacher and athletic coach for Alhambra School District for 33 years. He served in the U.S. Navy as lieutenant commander during World War II and was a member of the Elks Lodge in Alhambra and Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
Mr. Pursell if survived by his wife of 72 years, Thelma Pursell of Oceanside; sons Michael Pursell of Garden Grove, Paul Pursell of Tustin and James Pursell of Hawaii; daughter Penny Belair of Diamond Bar; brother James Pursell of Laguna Woods; seven grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at St. Mark's Catholic Church in San Marcos, with the Rev. William Gold officiating. A private family inurnment is planned.

ESCONDIDO - Irene C. Miner, 90, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, at her home.
Born June 26, 1909, in Yelton, Okla., she lived in Escondido for 56 years. She was a cafeteria manager for Escondido Elementary School District for 17 years.
Mrs. Miner was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Ott Miner. She is survived by her son, Clint Miner of Dolyn Springs, Ariz.; daughters Janice Dowler and Arvilla Turrill, both of Escondido; brother Irwin Bulen of Murrieta; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

William F. Cormack, 85
ESCONDIDO - William F. Cormack, M.D., 85, died Sunday. Jan. 9, 2000, at his home in Escondido.
Born Aug. 27, 1914, in Wisconsin, he lived in Escondido for 48 years. He was an anesthesiologist before retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Escondido Model Railroad Club, the National Model Railroad Association and the Knights of Columbus. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and was an alumnus of the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He was a quality assurance investigator for the state of California.
Mr. Cormack was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary Lynette Cormack, in 1997. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Linda Cormack of Columbus, Ga., and David and Leslie Cormack of Escondido; daughter and son-in-law Susan and Lee Casad of Escondido; brother George G. Cormack of DePere, Wis.; and grandchildren Dennis Cormack, Kimberly Springer, Andrew Casad and Christine Casad.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Escondido, with the Rev. James Kennedy officiating. Inurnment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

NATIONAL CITY - Iris P. Dismuke, 99, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000, at Paradise Valley Hospital in National City.
Born May 9, 1900, in Sedalia, Colo., she lived in Encinitas for 30 years. She was a teacher for the Encinitas Union School District for 38 years. She formed a reading clinic for children, in her home. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, La Jolla Chapter No. 479, and of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Encinitas.
Mrs. Dismuke was preceded in death by her husband, Dudley Dismuke. She is survived by her sons, Clifford Dismuke of San Pedro and Harlan Dismuke of Cathedral City; 7 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, Jan. 18, at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.
Norman Gunn, 72
ESCONDIDO - Norman C. Gunn, 72, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, at Palomar Medical Center.
Born Dec. 8, 1927, in Portland, Ore., he lived in Escondido for more than 50 years. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force at San Antonio, Texas, from 1946 to 1948. He graduated from San Diego State with a degree in accounting and joined Gunn Accountants in 1952. He was a member of the Elks Lodge No. 1687, the California and National Society of Accountants and a supporter of the Boys & Girls Club of Escondido.
Mr. Gunn was preceded in death by his nephew, Michael Graham. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Kirsten Gunn of Hemet; sons Douglas Gunn of San Marcos and Charles Gunn of Houston, Texas; daughter Tina ___ of Escondido; sisters Betty Tilt of Carlsbad, Sheryl Clarke of Nagalia, Susan Kuhlman and Nancy Ward, both of Olympia, Wash.; grandchildren Matthew, Forrest, Johnathon and Kelsey; aunts Frances Swearingen of Oregon and Irene Vandehey of California; nephews Mark Andersen of Valley Center and Mitchell Graham of Henderson, Nev.; and nieces Ann Mills of Escondido, Caroline Devereux of San Clemente, Robin Forrester of Carlsbad and Kristin Longacre of Needles.
A tree was planted in his memory in California by a friend. A private service was held. His cremains were scattered at sea.
