OCEANSIDE - Will Chester Cuppy, 72, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at his home.
Born March 1, 1928, he lived in Oceanside for 30 years. He was a lieutenant colonel for the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean and Vietnam wars.
Mr. Cuppy is survived by his wife of 17 years, Margaret Cuppy of Oceanside; daughters and son-in-law Peggy Cuppy and Patricia and David Carlson, all of San Diego; sister and brother-in-law Betty and Bob Bell of Naples, Fla.; and granddaughter Christy Carlson of San Diego.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 22, at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, with the Rev. David Plank officiating. Burial with military honors will follow.
Eternal Hills Mortuary is handling arrangements.

John Dana, 90
ESCONDIDO - John Joseph Dana, 90, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, at Pomerado Hospital.
Born March 9, 1910, in Scranton, Pa., he lived in Escondido for six years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was an electronics engineer for the federal civil service before retiring.
Mr. Dana is survived by his daughter, Patricia Ann Dana of Escondido; and sister Frances Zaloga of Scranton.
A private cremation with interment at sea by the U.S. Navy is planned.

Charles Busic, 42
OCEANSIDE - Charles Dean Busic, 42, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, in Vista.
Born March 18, 1958, in Fremont, he lived in Oceanside for 20 years. He was a mechanic and served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Mr. Busic is survived by his wife of 16 years, Patricia Busic of Vista; mother and father Earnestine and Charles Busic of Ripon; daughter Sabrina Busic of Vista; and sister Gale Huckabee of Ripon.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, at Eternal Hills Chapel, with the Rev. David Plank officiating. A private interment is planned.
Eternal Hills Mortuary is handling arrangements.

Thomas Vezie, 58
BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. - Thomas Gene Vezie Jr., 58, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, in Bullhead City.
Born April 23, 1942, in San Diego, he lived in Bullhead City for 10 years. He worked for San Diego Gas & Electric before retiring in 1988.
Mr. Vezie is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Tommas L. and Tracy Vezie of Bullhead City and Shannon K. Vezie of Vista; brothers and sister-in-law Steve Vezie of San Diego and Michael W. and Janice Vezie of Oceanside; sisters and brother-in-law Debbie Gill of Las Vegas and Cindy and Ray Noblitt of San Jacinto; and grandchildren Shaughn Vezie, Aaron Vezie and Tiffany Rose Parret.
A private cremation is planned.

Genevive Moyer, 79
OCEANSIDE - Genevive Kathryn Moyer, 79, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, in Oceanside.
Born Jan. 31, 1921, in Mannington, W.Va., she lived in Oceanside for 14 years. She was a secretary before retiring and a member of the First Nazarene Church of Vista.
Mrs. Moyer is survived by her husband of 57 years, Edward Moyer of Oceanside; daughter Dianne Jediny of Oceanside; brothers Paul Moore and Lloyd Moore, both of Roanoke, Va.; sisters Mary Magda of Enola, Pa., Margaret Ward of Salem, Va., and Wilma Stockdale of Charmichaels, Pa.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A graveside service was held Wednesday, Jan. 17, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cypress, with the Rev. William Vermylia officiating. Burial followed.
Oceanside Mortuary handled arrangements.

Francis Pedro, 58
MENIFEE - Francis Patrick Pedro, 58, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at Menifee Valley Medical Center.
Born May 23, 1942, in Honolulu, he lived in Menifee for three years and had lived in North San Diego County for 20 years. He worked for US Silica and was a truck driver for Superior Ready Mix Concrete in Corona for seven years.
Mr. Pedro is survived by his wife, Sharon Pedro of Menifee; daughter Jennifer A. Jix of Menifee; sons Francis P. Pedro Jr. and Robert Pedro, both of San Antonio, Texas, Jeffrey Mix of Fort Stewart, Ga., and Jerry Mix of Sacramento; brothers Robert Pedro of Union City and Michael Perry of Kailua, Hawaii; sisters Sylvia Kellam, Loretta Ferrera and Mona Gale, all of Kailua; and granddaughter Arianne Pedro of Texas.
A gathering of family and friends was held Thursday, Jan. 18, at the family home in Menifee. A private cremation with inurnment is planned.
The family suggests memorial donations to the American Heart Association, 3640 Fifth Ave., San Diego, CA 92103.

Jonathan Talnadge, 33
ESCONDIDO - Jonathan Talnadge, 33, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, in Escondido.
Born April 3, 1967, in National City, he lived in Escondido for the last 15 years. He was a student of the Bible and military history.
Mr. Talnadge was preceded in death by his grandparents, Erwin and Ruth Prewitt and Dorothy Talnadge. He is survived by his wife, Judi Talnadge of Escondido; mother Helen Anne Talnadge of Escondido; father Micky Talnadge of Chula Vista; aunts Althea Channell and Sue Bunkley; and four cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, at North County Church of Christ in Escondido, with the Rev. Kent Hekel of Calvary International Fellowship in Poway officiating.

Chloe Waller, 67
ESCONDIDO - Chloe Ann Waller, 67, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, in Escondido.
Born July 19, 1933 in San Diego, she lived in Escondido for 33 years. She worked in investor relations for Realty Income Corporation.
Mrs. Waller was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Hazel O.A. Bud Kuenne. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Richard J. Waller of Escondido; daughter Victoria A. Waller of Huntington Beach; son and daughter-in-law Richard J. II and Barbara E. Waller of Escondido; daughter Jill M. Waller of San Diego; father Robert E. Kerr of San Diego; sisters Frances Boardman of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Cheryl Rendon of San Clemente; and grandchildren Jessica L., Amanda F. and Matthew R. of Escondido.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 19, at Hidden Valley Christian Church, 1300 S. Juniper St., Escondido, (760) 743-2727.

Raymond Sundeen, 95
ESCONDIDO - Raymond Axe Sundeen, 95, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001, at his home.
Born May 23, 1905, in Chesterton, Ind., he lived in Escondido for 52 years. He was a cabinet maker for Sundeen Cabinet Shop in Escondido before retiring after 50 years and was a member of Joslyn Center. He enjoyed fly fishing.
Mr. Sundeen was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Sundeen, on Nov. 17, 1998. He is survived by his son, Thom Sundeen of Escondido; daughter Pat Winkler of Menifee; sister Leona De Mass of Indiana; grandchildren Ray Ruhe of Brea and Greg Ruhe of Fullerton; and great-grandson Ryan Ruhe of Fullerton.
A private family service is planned. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
The family suggests memorial donations to Elizabeth Hospice, 150 W. Crest St., Escondido, CA 92025.

Margaret Buxton, 85
OCEANSIDE - Margaret G. Buxton, 85, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at Tri-City Medical Center.
Born April 8, 1915, in Honolulu, she lived in Oceanside for 28 years. She was a registered nurse and a volunteer for the Red Cross. She was a member of the South Oceanside Methodist Church.
Mrs. Buxton was preceded in death by her husband, Erwin Buxton, on May 18, 1997; and her daughter, Mary Furnary. She is survived by her son, William Meals of Tallahasee, Fla.; sister Mary Crane of Surprise, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
No service was held at the request of the deceased. A private cremation took place and her cremains were scattered at sea.
Eternal Hills Mortuary handled arrangements.

Linda Waggoner, 52
ENCINITAS - Linda Jane Waggoner, 52, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, at a rest home in Encinitas.
Born Dec. 7, 1948, in Valparaiso, Fla., she lived in Solana Beach for the past 15 years.
Mrs. Waggoner is survived by her daughters, Nichole Waggoner and Taryn Waggoner, both of Solana Beach; mother and father Frances and Charles Webster of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and sister Patti Gifford of Manhattan Beach.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, at El Camino Memorial, Sorrento Valley Chapel. Inurnment will follow at El Camino Memorial Park.

Crystal Sampier, 31
VISTA - Crystal Kay Eoff Sampier, 31, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, at Tri-City Medical Center.
Born May 31, 1969, in Lodi, she lived in Vista for 20 years. She was a member of the Pentecostal Gospel Lighthouse Worship Center.
Ms. Sampier is survived by her mother and stepfather, Darlene J. and Richard W. Beverson of Oceanside; sons Jeremy C. Eoff of El Cajon and Joshua K. Eoff of Oceanside; and uncle and aunt Jamel L. and Carolyn Eoff of Fort Worth, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 19, at Eternal Hills Mortuary. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, at Gospel Lighthouse Worship Center in Oceanside, with Carol A. Riggins officiating. interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

Deanna Sundberg, 43
LAKE ELSINORE - Deanna Kay Sundberg, 43, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, of lung cancer, at her home.
Born Oct. 6, 1957, in Orange, she lived in Lake Elsinore for three years and in Riverside County for 25 years. She was a homemaker who enjoyed ceramics and crafts.
Mrs. Sundberg is survived by her husband, Anthony Sundberg of Lake Elsinore; daughter and son-in-law Sandy and Edward Schultz of Lake Elsinore; son A.J. Sundberg of Lake Elsinore; mother and stepfather Elaine and Wayne Demoray of Costa Mesa; sister Karen Baker of Sacramento; brother and sister-in-law Glen and Deanna Gate of Anaheim; mother-in-law and father-in-law Wilma and Soren Sundberg of Pahrump, Nev.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sherry and Steve Seher of Oceanside; grandchildren Samuel, Ellie and Gabriel Schultz, all of Lake Elsinore; and many friends and family members in Canada and Sweden.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. today, Jan. 19, at Valley Funeral Home.

Bill Shook, 75
MURRIETA - Bill Borden Shook Sr., 75, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001, from complication of diabetes, at Beverly Health Care in Murrieta.
Born Dec. 16, 1925, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he lived in Murrieta for four years. He was a jewelry designer for 35 years.
Mr. Shook was preceded in death by his son, Vance Shook, on Nov. 2, 1997. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Henrietta Shook of Murrieta; sons and daughters-in-law Bill Jr. and Linda Shook of Beijing, China, and Karl and Lisa Shook of Canyon Lake; daughter and son-in-law Laura Marie and Bruce Gaedke of Oak Grove, Minn.; and grandchildren Kris and Kyle Shook, Krista Shook, Justin, Ryan, Sean, Chelsea and Alaesha Gaedke and Garrett Shook.
A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, at St. Martha's Catholic Church. A private cremation is planned.

Mrs. Brandt is survived by her husband of 36 years, Sidney Brandt of Lake San Marcos; sons and daughter-in-law Marc and Laura Brandt of New York; daughter and son-in-law Allison and Adam Ringler of Vista; and brother and sister-in-law Barry and Beth Reisig of Virginia.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 21, at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, with Rabbi Libman officiating. Burial will follow.
