LAKE ELSINORE - Howard Warrick McCracken, 85, died Wednesday, July 12, 2000, at Inland Valley Regional Medical Center in Wildomar.
Born April 11, 1915, in Barnesville, Ohio, he lived at Lake Elsinore for 30 years. He was a truck driver for TIME-DC in California for 40 years and served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945.
Mr. McCracken is survived by his wife, JoAnn McCracken of Lake Elsinore; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Burial will take place at Riverside National Cemetery.

Dorothy 'Dot' Rowe, 73
WILDOMAR - Dorothy "Dot" Rowe, 73, died Thursday, July 13, 2000, at her home.
Born Dec. 20, 1926, in Atlanta, she lived in Wildomar for 16 years. She was a homemaker for 57 years. She was a part-time nurse's aide for various convalescent homes.
Mrs. Rowe is survived by her husband, Andrew Rowe of Wildomar; son John Rowe of Valley Springs; daughters Sandy Newman of Elsinore and Susan Thompson of Beaumont; sister Doris Rowe of Bullhead City, Ariz.; half-brother Harris Upton; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 16, at Miller-Jones Mortuary in Sun City. A funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday, July 17, at the mortuary. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m., at Riverside National Cemetery, Staging Area 3.

Frances Whitehead, 91
ESCONDIDO - Frances L. Whitehead, 91, died Sunday, July 9, 2000, in Escondido.
Born Aug. 22, 1908, in Detroit, she lived in Escondido for 26 years. She was a self-employed accountant for 30 years and a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Escondido serving as records keeper.
Mrs. Whitehead was preceded in death by her husband, Milus J. Whitehead; and sister Charlotte Thayer. She is survived by her nephew, Patrick Conroy of Escondido and Arcadia; and nieces Mrs. Herbert Hawkins of Newport Beach and Mrs. Richard Pouliot of Laguna Woods.
A cryptside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, at Eternal Hills Memorial Park Garden Mausoleum, with the Rev. James Rauch of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Escondido officiating.

ENCINITAS - Mildred Burkeman, 87, died Tuesday, July 11, 2000, at Scripps Memorial Hospital in Encinitas.
Born March 30, 1913, in Minneapolis, she lived in Encinitas for 31 years. She was a member of Local Union No. 551 of Wilmington.
Mrs. Burkeman is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Benson and John Alcaraz of Arkansas and Marion and Hall Rich of Hawthorne; son James Burkeman; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Her body was donated to medical science at UCSD.
Donald Disesa, 71
ESCONDIDO - Donald Disesa, 71, died Friday, July 7, 2000, in Poway.
Born April 26, 1929, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he lived in Escondido for 10 years. He was a printing equipment salesman and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Mr. Disesa is survived by his wife of 22 years, Joanne Disesa of Escondido; son Donald Disesa Jr. of California; daughters Debbie Aslin of Laguna Hills, Donna Disesa of La Mesa, DeeDeeDisesa of West Palm Beach, Fla., Dotty Disesa of Temecula and Deena Disesa of Laguna Niguel; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 17, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Escondido. Inurnment will follow at 1 p.m. at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in Point Loma.

Born Aug. 29, 1920, in Lyons, Ind., she lived in Escondido for 48 years. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. McKinley is survived by her husband of 58 years, Glenn McKinley of Escondido; sons James McKinley of Sutherlin, Ore., and Ernie McKinley of San Marcos; daughters Glenda Kellog and Eileen Tubbs, both of Escondido; brothers Bill Voohees of N. Highland, Bernard Voorhees of Roy, Utah and Ed Voorhees of Kingman, Ariz.; sisters Betty Rose Suggett of San Diego, Eva Hagerman of Grand Junction, Colo, Marion Meredith of Sun Valley, Nev., and Evelyn Findley of Bloomington, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

ESCONDIDO - Alda C. Bridgman, 82, died Monday, July 10, 2000, at her son's home in Escondido.
Born April 10, 1918, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., she lived in Escondido for four years. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Bridgman was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Bridgman, on Dec. 26, 1993. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Joan Bridgman of Escondido and James and Linda Bridgman of Cherry Valley; brother Evelyn Page of San Clemente; grandchildren Andy Bridgman, Kristin Bridgman, Dan Bridgman, Ken Bridgman and Kim Bridgman; and great-grandchildren Moriah Bridgman, JJ Lewis and J'son Lewis.

OCEANSIDE - Geraldine Butler, 90, died Wednesday, July 12, 2000, in Oceanside.
Born May 4, 1910, in Worcester, Mass., she lived in Oceanside. She retired from the civil service and served in the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II. She was a member of the National Association of Retired Persons and a member of the Woman Marine Association, Oceanside Chapter.
Mrs. Butler was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Butler Jr., in 1999; and two brothers. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Rudy Marrick of Oceanside; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

OCEANSIDE - Robert Lee Brewer died Wednesday, July 12, 2000, in Vista.
Born July 1, 1926, in Kansas City, Mo., he lived in Oceanside for 35 years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam and received a Purple Heart before retiring.
Mr. Brewer was preceded in death by four brothers. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Inez Brewer of Oceanside; four sisters; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, at Eternal Hills Mortuary. A funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, at the mortuary. Interment

Born June 9, 1906, in Ambridge, Pa., she lived in San Marcos for 30 years. She was the owner/operator of Pioneer Cleaners in Fairbanks, Alaska, for 30 years and was involved with the San Diego Chapter for the Blind in Vista.
Mrs. Dover is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William I. and Dorothy Murphy of San Marcos; sister Ann Turner of Waukegan, Ill.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A private cremation is planned.

CARLSBAD - Rose Lucille Ripp, 88, died Friday, July 7, 2000, at Scripps Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 17, 1911, in Ravennah, Neb., she lived in Carlsbad for 28 years. She was the owner of Vera's Draperies from 1949 to 1985 and a member of the Oceanside Elks Emblem Club.
Mrs. Ripp is survived by her husband of 58 years, Richard Ripp of Carlsbad; daughter Nadia A. Gilmore of Lake Park; grandchildren Steven, Terri, Sandra and Richard; great-grandchildren Joshua, Jeremiah, Samuel, Jennifer and Brian; and great-great-grandchildren Joseph, Carissa, DeSeon and D'Jhau.
A memorial service is planned with a private Interment to take place at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery.

Harold Murphy, 78
ESCONDIDO - Harold S. Murphy, 78, died Friday, July 14, 2000, in Escondido.
Born June 27, 1922, in Denver, he lived in Escondido for 11 years. He was a professor and clergyman for the University of Pennsylvania for 33 years before retiring in 1985. He graduated from UCLA in 1942, Princeton Theological Seminary in 1946, Rutgers University in 1948, and received his Ph.D. from Yale in 1951. He was ordained in the Presbyterian Church Oct. 28, 1951 and was a member of Rancho Bernardo Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Murphy is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marian L. Murphy of Escondido; sons Karl S. Murphy of Beloit, Wash., and Paul E. Murphy of King of Prussia, Pa.; and daughter Rebecca A. Murphy of Escondido.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. today, July 18, at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Born May 18, 1927, in Corbin, Ky., she lived in Escondido since 1961. She worked as a licensed practical nurse after graduating from Mira Costa College before retiring.
Mrs. Kensinger is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Michael W. and Katherine Kensinger of Temecula and Gary P. and Lori Kensinger of Escondido; daughters and sons-in-law Janet Lynne and Franklin Seaman of Georgia, Laurel A. and D. Scott Allen of Idaho, Linda B. and Don Harloff of Cardiff and Sharon E. and Robert Stromme of Escondido; brothers Albert Johnson, Samuel P. Johnson, James Johnson and Robert Johnson, all of Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews; and many friends.
