Damon Yoe, 27
ESCONDIDO - Damon K. Yoe, 27, died Tuesday, July 18, 2000, of an AIDS-related illness, at his home.
Born Jan. 2, 1973, in West Lafayette, Ind. he lived in Escondido for three years. He was a graduate of Saratoga High School, the founder of the Angelic Solutions Foundation and a quality assurance engineer for American On Line.
Mr. Yoe is survived by his mother, Sandy Yoe of Escondido; father Louis Yoe of San Diego; brothers Jason Yoe of San Diego and Brandon Yoe of Mountain View; grandmother Marge Weiskittel of Zephryhills, Fla.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral service was held Thursday, July 20, at North County Cremation Service Chapel in San Marcos, with the Rev. Ryan Perkins officiating.
The family suggests memorial donations to Elizabeth Hospice, 150 W. Crest St., Escondido, CA 92025.

Kenneth Royer, 60
CARLSBAD - Kenneth E. Royer, 60, died Wednesday, July 19, 2000, of non-Hodgkins lymphoma, at UCSD Thornton Hospital.
Born June 28, 1930, in Cleveland, he lived in North County for 58 years. He graduated from San Dieguito High School in 1959 and was a general foreman for A.O. Reed for 22 years.
Mr. Royer is survived by his wife of nine years, Sharon Royer of Carlsbad; son Kenneth E. Royer II of Escondido; daughter Jeanine Pullman of Concord; twin sister Carol Royer of Medford, Ore.; and grandchildren Cindy, Brittany, Brandy and Lindsay.
A private service is planned.
North county Cremation Service is handling arrangements.

Frances Mayes, 102
HEMET - Frances K. Mayes, 102, died Thursday, July 20, 2000, at Ramona Manor Convalescent Hospital in Hemet.
Born Sept. 4, 1897, in Chicago, she lived in Fillmore for 25 years. She was a seamstress in the garment district for 55 years. She made flags, blankets and life jackets for the war effort during World War II.
Mrs. Mayes is survived by her son, Frank De Lorto of Lake Elsinore; sister Violet Larson of Chicago; 14 grandchildren, including Bob De Lorto of Homeland; 27 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 24, at Miller-Jones Sun City Mortuary. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:30 p.m. following visitation. Burial will take place at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier.

Loyd Nichols, 78
MURRIETA - Loyd Earl Nichols, 78, died Friday, July 14, 2000, of a brain hemorrhage at St. Michael Health Care in Texarkana, Ark.
Born Feb. 1, 1922, in Edgewood, Texas, he lived in Murrieta for 30 years. He retired from Nichols Electric of Murrieta and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was the Murrieta fire commissioner with the Murrieta Fire Department for 15 years.
Mr. Nichols was preceded in death by his wife, Susie E. Nichols, in 1992. He is survived by his stepmother, Dorthy Nichols of Edgewood; son Calvin Frentrup of Horatio, Ark.; stepsons Robert Sims of Santa Ana and Bill Sims of Perris; sisters Charlotte Couch of Texas and Sherie Nichols of Edgewood; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 22, at Murrieta Valley Cemetery, with the Rev. Randy Johnson officiating. Burial will follow.
The family suggests memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 12405 Rancho Bernardo Road, Suite 100, San Diego, CA 92128.

Ermando Gagetta, 92
QUAIL VALLEY - Ermando John Gagetta, 92, died Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at his home.
Born June 7, 1908, in Hardwick, Vt., he lived in Quail Valley for eight years. He was a superintendent with the city government in St. Johnsbury, Vt., for 35 years.
Mr. Gagetta is survived by his daughters, Sonia Gate of Winterville, Ga., Pola Duncan of Costa Mesa, Elsa Gagetta of Quail Valley and Susan Kessinger of Waldron, Ind.; sister Dora Hunter of North Fort Meyers Beach, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Hardwick.

Earl Spencer, 84
VISTA - Earl Spencer, 84, died Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at Scripps Hospital.
Born Jan. 21, 1916, in Paris, Idaho, he lived in Vista for 50 years. He was a postal clerk for the U.S. Postal Service before retiring and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Spencer is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lynn Spencer of Vista; sons and daughter-in-law Gary Spencer of Oceanside and Thomas and Marsha Spencer of Edmond, Okla.; daughter and son-in-law Susan and Carlos Martinez of Vista; sister Irene Wyler of Soda Springs, Idaho; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation and viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, July 24, at Eternal Hills Chapel. A funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

Keith Sharp, 35
SAN DIEGO - Keith James Sharp, 35, died Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at his home.
Born Sept. 30, 1964, in Rochester, N.Y., he lived in San Diego for 15 years. He worked in customer sales for Male International.
Mr. Sharp is survived by his mother and father, Lenore and James Sharp of Carlsbad; and sister Annette Sharp of Vista.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. today, July 22, at Mission San Luis Rey Church. Inurnment will take place at a later date.

Ruth Weber, 93
OCEANSIDE - Ruth May Weber, 93, died Tuesday, July 18, 2000, at Sunbridge of Oceanside.
Born May 27, 1907, in Cincinnati, she lived in Oceanside for 49 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Ambassadore Family Church in Oceanside.
Mrs. Weber was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Ross Weber, in 1982. She is survived by her son, Ross Weber of Buena Park; brother Edward Farbec of Skokie, Ill.; sister Irma Madgett of Cincinnati; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 27, at Ambassadore Family Church, with the Rev. Barry Cook officiating. A private cremation is planned with cremains to be scattered at sea.
The family suggests memorial donations to the Ambassadore Family Church Building Fund, 4055 Oceanside Blvd., Suite T, Oceanside, CA 92056.

Evelyn Webber, 88
GALLATIN, Tenn. - Evelyn Webber, 88, died Sunday, July 16, 2000, in Gallatin.
Born Nov. 25, 1911, in Oceanside, she lived in Oceanside until 1996 when she moved to Tennessee. She worked as a legal secretary for more than 55 years, 35 of which were with Feist, Vetter, Knauf and Loy. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, now North Coast United Methodist, since 1946.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 24, at Eternal Hills Mortuary Chapel. Interment icon will follow.

Hazel Smith, 63
GOODMAN, Mo. - Hazel M. Smith, 63, died Tuesday, June 6, 2000, of cancer, in Joplin, Mo.
born June 9, 1936, in Goodman, she lived in Goodman for one year. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Escondido.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Steve Thompson of Riverside and Bill and Sonya Smith of Long Beach; daughter and son-in-law Terry and Kevin Williams of Escondido sisters and brothers-in-law Peggy and Ken Harris of Atascadero, Mary Negrete of Riverside and Leah and bob Arnold of Escondido; and grandchildren Sophia Smith, William Smith, David Williams, Daniel Williams and Brian Williams.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 29, at Carson Bible Church in Carson.

Evalynne Farrell, 82
CARLSBAD - Evalynne Farrell, 82, died Wednesday, July 19, 2000, in Carlsbad.
Born Jan. 20, 1918, she lived in Carlsbad. She worked for Pacific Bell, retiring in 1975.
Mrs. Farrell was preceded in death by her husband, Randolph Farrell, on July 12. She is survived by her daughter, Terry Farrell of Carlsbad; grandchildren Crystal, Seaton and April; and great-grandchild Isaiaha.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, at Eternal Hills Mortuary. A graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, with the Rev. David Plank officiating. Interment icon will follow.

John Adams, 70
LA MESA - John Quincy Adams, 70, died Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at San Diego Hospice.
Born Sept. 29, 1929, in New York, he lived in Vista and Camp Pendleton from 1959 to 1974 and most recently lived in La Mesa. He was director of data processing at La Mesa Spring Valley School District before retiring and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean and Vietnam wars, retiring after 20 years.
Mr. Adams is survived by his wife of 40 years, Janice L. Adams; and son Jeffery John Adams.
Viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, July 23, at Lakeside Santee Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral chapel, with Chaplain Rose Necoechea officiating.

William Kepley, 85
SAN MARCOS - William N. Kepley Jr., 85, died Thursday, July 20, 2000, at his home.
Born March 12, 1915, in Philadelphia, he lived in San Marcos for 25 years. He was an educator in junior and senior high schools and at Harbor Community College in Wilmington. He was the first president of Southwestern Community College in Chula Vista and a community college administrator and president in the Los Angeles Community College District, retiring in 1975 from the Antelope Valley Community College district in Lancaster. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, attaining the rank of first lieutenant. He was a member of the Palomar Estates East Residents Association and a representative to the city council for rent review negotiations.
Mr. Kepley is survived by his wife, Rebekah "Becky" Kepley; daughters and son-in-law Kathy Pelton of Tuscany Hills and Carol Ann and Carey Rife of Temecula; sisters Hannah Sutton of Grants Pass, Ore., and Mary Wessinger of Chula Vista; grandsons Dean Pelton at UCLA and Ken Rife of Temecula; and nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes, with the Rev. Vernon Story of the First United Methodist Church in San Pedro officiating. Burial will follow.

TEMECULA - Marian Marie Denny, 76, died Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at Inland Valley Regional Medical Center in Wildomar.
Born May 3, 1924, in Fargo, N.D., she lived in Temecula for 15 years. She was a business owner in Wildomar for 30 years.
Mrs. Denny is survived by her son, Brian Denny of Temecula.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 24, at Evans Brown Sun City Mortuary. A graveside service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, at Wildomar District Cemetery. Burial will follow.

Victoria Padlo, 74
PERRIS - Victoria Padlo, 74, died Thursday, July 20, 2000, of a stroke, at Ember Care Health Center in Perris.
Born Dec. 3, 1925, in Chicago, she lived in Murrieta for seven years. She was a homemaker for 52 years.
Mrs. Padlo is survived by her daughters, Nancy Wegner of Menifee and Valerie Crane of Lakewood; son John Padlo of Murrieta; brother Michael Danyleiw of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; sister Gloria Lenz of Ocala, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 23, at Sun City Evans Brown Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral chapel. A private burial will take place at Inglewood Cemetery.

Jean Chausse, 88
CORONA - Jean Elizabeth Chausse, 88, died Thursday, July 20, 2000, of congestive heart failure, at Life Care Center of Corona.
Born Aug. 1, 1911, in Seattle, she lived in Corona for 20 years. She was an apartment property manager in various locations for 20 years.
Mrs. Chausse is survived by her son, Clarence Chausse Jr. of Blaine, Wash.; daughters Donna Ashby of Anaheim and Helen Elliott of Wildomar; eight grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, at Miller-Jones Mortuary. A graveside service will take place at 9:15 a.m. Thursday, July 27, at Riverside National Cemetery, Staging Area 2. Burial will follow.

John Ward, 82
CARSON CITY, Nev. - John Ward, 82, died Sunday, July 16, 2000.
Born July 4, 1918, in Beacons Field, Iowa, he lived in Carson City. He was a logistics specialist for General Dynamics for 46 years before retiring and served in the U.S. Navy and Air Force. He was a member of the Catholic Church and a volunteer with Little League.
Mr. Ward was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Virginia Mae Hennessey Ward, on June 6, 1999. He is survived by his daughters Pamela Marshall of Charleston, S.C., and Patricia Hughes of Poway; sons John Ward II of Escondido, Edward Ward and Terrance Ward, both of Poway, and Thomas Ward of Thousand Palms; sisters Ann Winter of Upland and Monica Badgley of Carson City; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. today, July 21, at Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley, Nev.

Joseph Storm, 79
CARLSBAD - Joseph P. Storm, 79, died Friday, July 14, 2000.
Born July 16, 1920, in Levering, Mich., he lived in Carlsbad. He served as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1964.
Mr. Storm is survived by his sons, Joe Storm and Michael Storm, both of Oceanside, and Tim Storm of Las Vegas; daughter and son-in-law Jean and Steve Amodt of Oceanside; four brothers; three sisters; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will beheld at 3 p.m. Monday, July 24, at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. A private inurnment will take place at San Carlos Catholic Cemetery in Monterey.
