VALLEY CENTER - Joan Olive Rominger, 73, died Friday, July 21, 2000, in Valley Center.
Born July 3, 1927, in London, she lived in Valley Center for 20 years. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Rominger is survived by her husband of 23 years, Robert "Bob" Rominger of Valley Center; son John Carpenter of San Diego; daughters and sons-in-law Janet and Steve King of Todele, Utah and Barbara and Carnell Warner of Escondido; sister Mary Appleford of England; and grandchildren Lance Allison, Michelle King, Ryan King and Joe Carpenter.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 24, at Alhiser-Comer Mortuary. A funeral liturgy is scheduled for noon Tuesday, July 25, at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Valley Center. A private inurnment will take place at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery.

Harry Boatman, 75
OCEANSIDE - Harry Boatman Jr., 75, died Wednesday, July 19, 2000.
Born June 7, 1925, in Franklin, La., he lived in Oceanside. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II, and the Korean and Vietnam wars, retiring as a gunnery sergeant. He was a Montford Point Marine and a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Camp Pendleton Golf Club.
Mr. Boatman is survived by his wife of 50 years, Veodie Boatman of Oceanside; son and daughter-in-law Billy G. and Kathy Boatman of San Diego; daughters Patricia Boatman and Adrienne Allen, both of Oceanside; brothers Samuel Boatman of Houston, Eddie Freeman of New Orleans and Eugene Freeman of Franklin, La.; sisters Emily Washington of Houston, Kathryn Morris, Ruby Griffin, Melvin Span, Carrie Madison, Leotha Butler, Emily Washington and Marjorie Gibson, all of Franklin; and grandchildren Erika Boatman of Tucson, Ariz., Sharan Boatman of San Diego, William Allen and David Williamson, both of Oceanside, and Kenny Biggers of San Diego.
Visitation and viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 24, at Eternal Hills Mortuary. A funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, at Eternal Hills Mortuary, with the Revs. Davisand Frasier officiating. Burial will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. A reception will follow at St. John's Missionary Baptist Church Hall, 1294 Lemon St. in Oceanside.

Mary Freda, 90
FALLBROOK - Mary Melinda Freda, 90, died Thursday, July 20, 2000, in Fallbrook.
Born Oct. 11, 1909, in Rocky Hill, N.J., she lived in Fallbrook for seven years. She was a homemaker for 65 years and a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Fallbrook. She was a past member of the Ladies Society and the Altar Society at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newark, N.J.
Mrs. Freda was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Freda, in 1994; and her daughter, Catherine Voorhees. She is survived by her son, James A. Freda of Fallbrook; daughter Mary Rowe of Cedar Grove, N.J.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A dedication Mass was celebrated Saturday, July 22, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Fallbrook. Burial will take place at a date to be determined at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, N.J.
The family suggests memorial donations to the American Lung Association of San Diego and Imperial Counties, 2750 Fourth Ave., San Diego, CA 92103.

Curtis Willis, 66
SANTA ANA - Curtis Glenn Willis, 66, died Thursday, of a heart attack, on Thursday, July 20, 2000.
Born in 1933 in Austin, Texas, he lived in Escondido for one year. He was a drywall contractor for many years.
Mr. Willis is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dixie Willis of Santa Ana; daughter Susan Lafferty; sons Steven Willis, David Willis and Curt Willis; sisters Mary Ooley of San Marcos and Carolyn Chenault of Escondido; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, at Fairhaven Memorial Park in Santa Ana.
Joseph Storm, 79
CARLSBAD - Joseph P. Storm, 79, died Friday, July 14, 2000.
Born July 16, 1920, in Levering, Mich., he lived in Carlsbad. He served as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1964.
Mr. Storm is survived by his sons, Joe Storm and Michael Storm, both of Oceanside, and Tim Storm of Las Vegas; daughter and son-in-law Jean and Steve Amodt of Oceanside; four brothers; three sisters; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will beheld at 3 p.m. Monday, July 24, at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. A private inurnment will take place at San Carlos Catholic Cemetery in Monterey.

OCEANSIDE - Mark De La Cruz, 35, died Saturday, July 15, 2000, in Vista.
Born Feb. 17, 1965, in Sun Valley, he lived in Oceanside for five years. He was self-employed in construction, retiring July 15.
Mr. De La Cruz is survived by his mother, Marcy Solis of Oceanside; sisters Jolane Albrecht of Carlsbad, Joanne Marshall of Huntington Beach, Malia Kendzie of Thousand Oaks and Tina Jayes of Studio City; and nieces and nephews Colin Jayes, Ella Jayes, Joshua Westphal, Ryan Westphal and Nick and Jacquie Albrecht.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 29, at Seaside Presbyterian Church in Encinitas, with the Rev. Steve Barke officiating.

Elizabeth Fulcomer, 53
FALLBROOK - Elizabeth Ann Fulcomer, 53, died Saturday, July 22, of cancer, in Fallbrook.
Born July 4, 1947, in Bellflower, she lived in Fallbrook or 10 years. She was a member of Living Waters Assembly of God Church in Fallbrook. She was a 1965 graduate of Fallbrook High School and a 1969 graduate of Westmont College. She earned her teaching credentials from Fresno State University in 1971 and taught English and physical education in Australia. She was a missionary/evangelist with Youth With A Mission and the Assembly of God churches. she worked in Fallbrook for the past 10 years.
Ms. Fulcomer is survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Prudy and Mark Martin of Escondido, Carla and Bill Suehowicz of Sonora and Mary Jane and Richard Lewis of Rocklin; and seven nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today, July 25, at Berry-Bell & Hall Fallbrook Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, at Living Waters Assembly of God Church in Fallbrook, with the Rev. Ronald A. Snider officiating. Burial will take place at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, at Fallbrook Masonic Cemetery in Fallbrook.
The family suggests memorial donations to Living Waters Christian Fellowship Missions and Evangelism, 2000 Reche Road, Fallbrook, CA 92028.

Mier of Borger and Enrique Mier of Monte Vista, Colo.; uncles Miguel A. and Alexandra Chavez of Amarillo, Texas, Andres and Rosa Barriga, Luciano and Laura Barriga and Amador Barriga, all of Nevada, Guillermo and Evelia Barriga and Priciliano and Norma Barriga, all of Colorado, and Valeriano and Elena Barriga of California; aunts Maria Barriga and Faustina and Renan Barriga, all of Mexico, and Celerina and Arturo Calvillo of Colorado; many great-uncles, aunts and cousins.

Born Sept. 13, 1923, in Alton, Ill., she lived in Escondido for 12 years. She was an underwriter for real estate loans for Great Western Bank.
Mrs. Shaw is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Judy Shaw of Valley Center; brother Charles A. Smalley of Arizona; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation and viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today, July 25, at McLeod Mortuary Chapel. A Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, at Resurrection Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Mrs. Brickley is survived by her niece, Mary Jane Hartman of Saugus.

OCEANSIDE - James Joseph Baker, 74, died Saturday, July 22, 2000, at his home.
Born Feb. 16, 1926, in Lowell, Mass., he lived in Oceanside for 32 years. He was an engineering writer for MA/COM/LINKABIT Co. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean and Vietnam wars, retiring as a master gunnery sergeant.
Mr. Baker is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marina Baker of Oceanside; daughters and son-in-law, Bridget and Paul Trygar of Oceanside and Doreen Baker of Phoenix; brother David Baker of New Hampshire; sister Shirley King of New Hampshire; and grandchildren Ashley Trygar and Allison Trygar.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, at Eternal Hills Mortuary. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, July 27, at the mortuary, with the Rev. Capachino officiating. Entombment will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

Mrs. Harmon is survived by her husband, Edward K. Harmon of Poway; daughters Sherry Urena of Ventura, Vicki Harmon of Escondido and Susan Roschke of Fort Collins, Colo.; sister Nadine Meadows of Delaware, Ark.; and four grandchildren.
Visitation was held Saturday, July 22, at Poway-Bernardo Mortuary. A funeral service took place Monday, July 24, at Pomerado Christian Church in Poway.

Mr. Albertson is survived by his wife, Tracee Albertson of Poway; daughter Kylee Rae Albertson of Poway; parents Jim Collins and Eve J. Albertson of Poway; and brother Jason Albertson of Poway.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 24, at Dearborn Memorial Park in Poway.
