VISTA - Larry J. Weilhammer, 82, died Friday, June 23, 2000.
Born March 9, 1918, in Indiana, he was a resident of Oceanside for two years.
Mr. Weilhammer is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Weilhammer, of Vista; son and daughter-in-law Robert and Adele Weilhammer of Oceanside and four grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for noon, Thursday, June 29, at Eternal Hills Mortuary will the Rev. Steve Myatt officiating. Interment icon will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.
Eternal Hills Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.

Bhikhiben Patel, 82
OCEANSIDE - Bhikhiben Bhula Patel, 82, died Saturday, June 24, 2000, at Tri-City Medical Center.
Born July 10, 1917, in India, she was a resident of Oceanside for 14 years. She was a homemaker for 50 years.
Mrs. Patel is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Mansukh and Kusvm Patel of San Francisco, Nayan and Hemlata Patel of Oceanside and Shanty and Manorama Patel of Oceanside; daughter and son-in-law Kanchan and Kantilal Pranav of La Palma; sister Naniben Patel of India; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, at Eternal Hills Chapel with funeral at 11 a.m. There will be a private cremation.
Eternal Hills is in charge of the arrangements.

Luis Hernandez infant
OCEANSIDE - Luis Hernandez, infant, was born and died Wednesday, June 21, 2000, at Kaiser Hospital.
Luis is survived by his parents Angeles Garcia and Jesus Hernandez both of Oceanside and brother Jesus Antonio Hernandez of Oceanside.
No services are planned and there was a private cremation.
Eternal Hills is in charge of the arrangements.

Janet Stevens, 68
ESCONDIDO - Janet Elizabeth Stevens, 68, died Saturday, June 24, 2000, at Palomar Medical Center.
Born Oct. 26, 1931, in Chicago, Ill., she was a resident of Fallbrook for four years. She was a school teacher for 30 years and retired from Marlinda School in Covina in 1996.
Mrs. Stevens is survived by her husband of 46 years, Robert E. Stevens of Fallbrook; son Ronald Stevens of Concord; daughters Tamara Hemnick of Kalamazoo, Mich., Marta Baker of San Diego and Rebecca Ann Solander of Courtland, N.Y.; brother Raymond Kleefisch of Rockford, Mich.; sister Delores Gabourie of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and nine grandchildren.
Only private family services are planed.

Jeanie Johnson, 48
POWAY - Jeanie Johnson, 48, died Saturday, June 24, 2000.
Born July 31, 1951, in Rhode Island, she was a resident of Poway. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband Frank Johnson of Poway; daughters Dawnielle and Stephanie Johnson both of Poway; son Jeff Johnson of Poway; sister Shirlery Millhauser and four grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. tonight at Poway Bernardo Mortuary, 13243 Poway Rd., Poway. A Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 28 at St. Gabriels Catholic Church, 13734 Twin Peaks Rd. in Poway.
The family suggests memorial donations to: American Cancer Society, 12405 Rancho Bernardo Rd., San Diego, CA 92128.

Lora Palmer, 36
CARLSBAD - Lora Jean Palmer, 36, died Friday, June 23, 2000, in Easton, Md.
Born June 13, 1964, in Milwaukee, Wis., she was a resident of Carlsbad. She was a member of the Daybreak Community Church.
Mrs. Palmer was preceded in death by son, Jacob W. Palmer. She is survived by her husband Jim Palmer; daughter Crystal Wolfe of Des Moines, Iowa; sisters Lisa Vargas of Escondido and Jennifer Elliott of Solona Beach and grandson Tyler Wolfe of Des Moines, Iowa.
A memorial service is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, at Daybreak Community Church.
The family suggests memorial donations to Daybreak Community Church, 2270 Camino Vida Robles, Carlsbad, CA 92008.

Jane Fast, 82
RANCHO BERNARDO - Jane Carter Fast, 82, died Wednesday, June 21, 2000.
Born April 14, 1918, in Boise, Idaho, she was a resident of San Diego; she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Fast is survived by her husband, John Douglas Fast of Rancho Bernardo; daughter Mary Jane Kruse of Poway, sons Douglas C. Fast of Chula Vista, Terry A. Fast of Walnut Creek and Gary Fast of Cocolalla, Ind.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 26, at Dearborn Memorial Park in Poway.
Poway-Bernardo Mortuary handled the arrangements.

Betsey Marsh, 72
Poway - Betsey Virginia Marsh, 72, died Friday, June 2, 2000, in Poway of natural causes.
Born July 4, 1927 in New York City she was a resident of San Diego for 12 years. She retired in 1993 from San Diego State University - Foundation. She was a member of Diamond Gateway Women's Organization of Rancho Penasquitos and a member of Mon Ami Social and Service Organization of Rancho Bernardo.
Ms. Marsh is survived by her brother John W. Marsh of Fort Davis, Texas and sister Zaida M. Boomis of La Jolla.
A memorial service is scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday, June 30, at Hope united Methodist Church, 16550 Bernardo Heights Parkway, Rancho Bernardo with the Rev. Warren Trumbo officiating. A private interment will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery in Houston, Texas.

Stanley Littleton, 79
POWAY - Stanley "Bud" Littleton, 79, died Friday, June 16, 2000, at his home of natural causes.
Born July 26, 1920 in La Porte, Ind., he was a resident of Poway for 47 years. Mr. Littleton retired in 1980 as a operating engineer. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and was a survivor of the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Lexington. He was a member of U.S.S. Lexington (CV2) Minutemen's Club and ACORN 7.
Mr. Littleton was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Marcelle Littleton on Nov. 10, 1995. He is survived by daughter Karen Potter of San Diego; daughter and son-in-law Sherrie and Richard Baugh of Escondido; brother and sisters-in-law Bill and Dorothy Littleton of Woodland Hills and Marge Littleton of Knoxville, Tenn.; sisters Margaret Huston of Goleta, Janet Rauch of Los Osos and Joanne Low of Sunnyvale; grandchildren Shannon, Laura, Valerie and Christine.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, June 30 at First Baptist Church, 13604 Midland Rd., Poway with the Rev. Dr. Robert Sutton officiating. Inurnment will be at Dearborn Memorial Park, Poway.
The family suggest memorial donations to: The American Lung Association, 2750 4th Ave., San Diego, CA 92150-1330.

Robert Haack, 71
POWAY - Robert W. Haack, 71, died Saturday, June 24, 2000 of natural causes.
Born Aug. 18, 1928, in Chicago, Ill., he was a resident of Escondido for 16 years. He retired in 1984 from Hughes Aircraft. He was a member of Meadow Lake Golf Club in Escondido.
Mr. Haack is survived by his wife of 22 years, Janice Haack of Escondido; daughters Andrea Reider and Judith Jones both of Anchorage, Alaska; sisters Beverly Kappel of Tucson, Ariz., and Janet Murzyn of Denver and four grandchildren.
A private cremation and burial at sea is planned.
The family suggests memorial donations to: Elizabeth Hospice, 150 Crest St., Escondido, CA 92025.
North County Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.

Steven Schneider, 21
ENCINITAS - Steven A. Schneider, 21, died Friday, June 23, 2000.
Born April 10, 1979, in Escondido he grew up in San Marcos.
Mr. Schneider is survived by his father, John W. Schneider of San Marcos; mother Lea H. Schneider of Wilmington, N.C., brothers Jeffrey M. Schneider of San Marcos and Daniel A. Schneider of Wilmington, N.C.
A memorial service is scheduled for 5 p.m. Friday, June 28, at the First Congregational Church of Escondido, 1800 N. Broadway.
The family suggests memorial donations to Children's Hospital, 2030 Children's Way, San Diego, CA 92123.

Henrietta Baleczak, 87
ESCONDIDO - Henrietta H. Baleczak, 87, died Sunday, June 24, 2000, of natural causes.
Born April 19, 1913, in Ft. Worth, Texas, she was a resident of San Marcos for 39 years.
Mrs. Baleczak is survived by son Harvey W.F. Pankow; daughter Millie M. Pankow; grandchildren Michael A. Pankow and Jacqueline C. Pankow and great-grandchildren Jacob Pankow, Armani and Devon Sanchez and Shaw Rafiq.
No services will be held at the request of the deceased.
Burial at sea will be at noon July 7 at Cabrillo Monument, Point Loma.
Neptune Society is in charge of the arrangements.

Derek Sydney, 80
SAN MARCOS - Derek Sydney, 80 died Sunday, June 18, 2000.
Born Jan. 11, 1920, in Whitechapel, London, England, he was a part-time resident of San Marcos and part-time London resident. He was retired in 1990 from the British Actors Equity. He served, with distinction, in WW II from 1940-1945, attaining the rank of captain, in the British Armed Forces. He was awarded an Alexander Korda Scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. He went on to perform in hundreds of theater, film and video dramas. At his retirement in 1990, he was presented with lifetime membership in the British Actors Equity. He was a member of the Green Room Club in London. He entertained many San Diego residents in scores of Community Theater productions. He was recently nominated as "Volunteer of the Year" by the Actors Alliance of San Diego and honored at the STAR Awards 2000 by the San Diego Performing Arts League.
Mr. Sydney is survived by his wife of 10 years, Catharine Sydney, also a part-time resident of San Marcos and London, England and her daughters, Catharine Jane Enser and Elizabeth Faith Gommer, both of England; brother Robert Veltman of London, England and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews in Australia and South Africa.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in London, England.

Frank Combs, 67
CANYON LAKE - Frank Donald Combs, 67, died Thursday, June 22, 2000, at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Riverside.
Born February 11, 1933, in Lubbock, Texas, he lived in Canyon Lake for 16 years. He was an engineer for 30 years, inlcuidng 15 at Morrison Knudson in Highland. Combs, who was a U.S. Navy veteran, enjoyed reading, computers and his work.
Mr. Combs is survived by his wife, Irene Combs of Canyon Lake; son, Raul Von Combs of Canyon Lake; and daughter, Michelle Turner of Rocklin.
A graveside service will be held at 10:45 p.m., Wednesday June 28 at Riverside National Cemetery, Staging Area No. 4. Burial will follow.

Lyle Gerdes, 80
HEMET - Lyle Arnold Gerdes, 80, died Wednesday, June 21, 2000, at his home in Hemet.
Born July 4, 1919, in Mario, Iowa, he lived in Murrieta for 39 years. He was the owner of the Lyle Gerdes Concrete Pipe Yard/Sales & Delivery in Murrieta. He enjoyed flying and was a member of the Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge 261 Temecula/Murrieta, Murrieta Town Hall, Murrieta Chamber of Commerce, Joshua Jacks, Southern California Riggers, Murrieta Flying Club, EAA, Cessna 120/140 Club. He served honorably in the Navy.
Mr. Gerdes is survived by his wife, Dolores Gerdes of Hemet; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Carol Gerdes of Mira Loma, Glen and Ardith Gerdes of Murrieta, Daren and Marcie Gerdes of Sun City; son Dale Gerdes of Riverside; daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Bill Revis of Portland, Ore.; daughter Sandra Gerdes of Murrieta; and brother and sister-in-law Russel and Ann Gerdes of Anamosa, Iowa; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, June 27 at the Murrieta United Methodist Church. Service will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Laurel Cemetery in Murrieta. Contributions can be made to Murrieta Fire Department or Murrieta United Methodist Church.

Milan Shields, 82
FALLBROOK - Milan Rodruck Shields, 82, died Tuesday, June 20, 2000, in Fallbrook.
Born September 16, 1917, in Chicago, he lived in Fallbrook for 14 years. He retired from American Machine & Foundry of 13 years as a machinist. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1939 to 1941 attaining the rank of sergeant. He was discharged to serve with the American Volunteer Group, Flying Tigers, serving in China and Burma from 1941 to 1942 during World War II.
Mr. Shields is survived by his wife, Catherine Frances of Fallbrook; son Christopher Earl Shields of Las Vegas; daughter Susan Shields of Wellsville, Mo.; brother John Shields fo Albany, Ore.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A private family service will be scheduled. Donations may be made to Los Jiluoras Preserve in Fallbrook.

Josephine Herron, 81
FALLBROOK - Josephine Herron, 81, died Saturday, June 17, 2000, in Fallbrook.
Born October 17, 1918, in Minneapolis, she lived in Fallbrook for 20 years. She retired with her husband, Paul, after working 20 years at their business, Washtub Car Wash & Laundry in Fallbrook.
Mrs. Herron is survived by her husband Paul E. Herron of Fallbrook; son Paul T. Herron of Fallbrook; daughter Reya Lee Herron of Fallbrook; and brother Joe Jurek of Minneapolis.
No service will be held at the request of the deceased. Cremains will be scattered off the coast of San Diego county on Tuesday, June 27, 2000.
