SUN CITY - Louis Lendzion, 76, died Thursday, March 1, 2001, at his home of cancer.
Born May 9, 1924, in Detroit, Mich., he lived in Sun City for 20 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He received a bachelor's degree from Central Michigan. He retired in 1998 after 48 years as a real estate salesman, appraiser, loan officer, office manager and owner of his own firm. He was a member of the Catholic church and Lyons Club. He enjoyed table tennis, gardening and music.
Mr. Lendzion was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Margaret Lendzion. He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law John and Julie Lendzion of Colorado Springs, Colo., Steve and Patti Lendzion of Sacramento and Thomas and Randi Lendzion of Simi Valley; daughter Mary Lendzion of Atlanta, Ga.; and six grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, March 5, at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church. Interment
will be at Riverside National Cemetery.

Audrey Kirkman, 89
OCEANSIDE - Audrey L. Kirkman, 89, died Friday, Feb. 16, 2001, at Windsor Gardens Nursing Home in Buena Park.
Born in Aberdeen, S.D., she lived in Oceanside since 1971. She trained as a nurse at Purdue University and was active in the Vista Women's Club, the California Federation of Women's Clubs, the San Diego Heart Association, American Red Cross and the Oceanside Senior Citizens Center.
She received a certificate of appreciation from the city of Oceanside in 1977 for her many years of volunteer service.
Mrs. Kirkman was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Wayne Kirkman, in 1981.
She is survived by her only son, Gilbert W. Kirkman of Woking, Surrey, England; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren, all living in California and England.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Sunday, March 11, at Christ Community Church in Buena Park. A private cremation is planned with a scattering at sea.

PALM DESERT - Molly Susan Bacon, 1, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001.
Born Dec. 2, 1999, in Fallbrook, she lived in Palm Desert for one year.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Julie Susan Bacon in June, 1999. She is survived by mother Sarah Kathleen Bacon of Palm Desert; grandfather Jeffrey A. Bacon of Cathedral City; and aunt Rebecca Ruth Bacon of Murrieta.
Visitation was held at 4 p.m. with funeral at 5 p.m. Friday, March 2, at Berry-Bell and Hall Fallbrook Mortuary.

Shirley Scott, 74
VISTA - Shirley Jean Scott, 74, died Thursday, March 1, 2001, at Tri-City Medical Center of natural causes.
Born Feb. 24, 1927, in Monterey, she lived in Vista for 4 1/2 years.
She retired in 1996 from Campus Crusade for Christ. She was a member of Tri-City Baptist Church and BPOE. She served in the U.S. Navy as a PN3.
Mrs. Scott is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Barbara Scott of Virginia Beach, Va.; daughters and sons-in-law Debbi and Ralph Dorsey of Oceanside and Patti and John Warnick of Cypress; brother and sister-in-law Harold and Helen Sands of Prescott, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 4, at Tri-City Baptist Church with the Rev. J. Johnson officiating.

OCEANSIDE - Joon Hee Kim, 61, died Friday, March 2, 2001, at his home.
Born March 8, 1939, in Korea, he lived in Oceanside.
Mr. Kim is survived by his wife of 26 years, Joy Kim of Oceanside; son Joseph Kim of Oceanside; and daughter and son-in-law Lynnic and Steve Kim of Carlsbad.
A funeral service was held at 5 p.m. Sunday, March 5, at Eternal Hills Mortuary with John M. Kim and Kook Whan Ahn officiating. Interment
will be at 11 a.m. today, March 6, at Fallbrook Masonic Cemetery.

ENCINITAS - LaRece B. Fix, 82, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, in Vista.
Born Sept. 4, 1918, in Ryrie, Idaho, she lived in Encinitas for 60 years.
She worked at 3D Photo and Appliance. She was a member of the Altar Society at St. John the Evangelist Church.
Mrs. Fix was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Fix, in 1997.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Marvin Fix of San Diego, Kenneth and Patricia Fix of Northridge, Brooke and Kathryn Fix of Covina, Patrick Fix of Kurtistown, Hawaii, Nicholas Fix of Pala, and Greg Fix of Encinitas; brother Doke Wages of Henderson, Nev.; sisters Denise Hope of La Jolla and Marie Ballard of Del Mar; 18 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. with Mass celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, at St. John the Evangelist Church. A private inurnment is planned.

OCEANSIDE - Louis Don Hart, 86, died Friday, March 2, 2001, at his home.
Born July 25, 1914, in Dallas, he lived in Oceanside for 49 years.
He worked as a truck driver at Camp Pendleton in civil service.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a 33 degree Mason.
Mr. Hart is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lucella Hart of Oceanside; brother and sister-in-law Wilbert and Geniva Hart of Stockton; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation and viewing is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 9, at Eternal Hills Mortuary. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10, at St. John Missionary Baptist Church. Interment
will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

Carlton Livingston Jr., 63
SAN MARCOS - Carlton Stanley Livingston Jr., 63, died Thursday, March 1, 2001, at a local hospital.
Born Aug. 26, 1937, in San Diego, he lived in San Marcos since 1999 and previously in the Lompoc area.
He retired from United Airlines as an account executive after 30 years.
He was the owner/operator of two McDonald's franchises in Lompoc and Santa Ynez for 18 years.
He served in the U.S. Navy Reserve from 1954 to 1962. He was a member of the Vikings charitable organization in Santa Ynez Valley.
Mr. Livingston was preceded in death by his father, Carlton Stanley Livingston Sr., in 1981 and brother James R. Livingston in 2000. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lana Livingston of San Marcos; sons Carlton Stanley Livingston III of Oakland and Cary S. Livingston of Reno, Nev.; daughter and son-in-law Catherine and David Benner of Escondido; sister-in-law Karen Livingston of El Cajon; grandchildren Cara J. Benner of Escondido; and two nieces and two nephews.
A private family service will be held. Inurnment will be at San Marcos Cemetery.

Ralph Williams, 85
SAN MARCOS - Ralph Leroy Williams, 85, died Friday, March 2, 2001, at a local residential care facility.
Born Aug. 20, 1915, in Slater, Mo., he lived in San Marcos for six weeks and was previously from Homeland and Hemet for 12 years. He lived in California since 1947.
He had been an aircraft electrician for Lookheed and McDonnell Douglas for 30 years.
He was ordained at a reverend in 1963 and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Hemet. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Mr. Williams is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law Ralph L. Williams Jr. of Modesto, Ray L. and Lois Williams of Salinas and Russ L. and Patty Williams of Escondido; daughters and sons-in-law Joan C. and Bob Critchfield of Duncanville, Texas, Judy C. and Bub Theakston of Merlin, Ore., stepdaughters and husbands Mary and Larry Anderson of Hesperia and Cissy and John Jones of Napa, Idaho and Annie Ruiker of Irvine; brother Raymond Williams of Canyon Country; 23 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 8, at Loma Vista Memorial Park in Fullerton with the Rev. Phil Manly officiating. Interment
will follow.

James Owens, 76
SAN MARCOS - James E. Owens, 76, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, at Tri-City Medical Center.
Born July 29, 1924, in Remona, Ind., he lived in San Marcos and North County for 37 years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II as a captain. He received a blanket citation from President Roosevelt for outstanding service in the Guadalcanal. He also served in Korea from 1952 to 1953, Lebanon in 1954 and two tours in Vietnam from 1965 to 1968 as chief of intelligence with the 7th Marines and awarded Combat V for 11 major combat operations. He retired from National Systems and Research in 1996.
Mr. Owens is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia Faith Owens of San Marcos; son and daughter-in-law Gregory M. and Diana G. Owens of Woodland; daughters and son-in-law Sharon F. Owens of Charlotta, N.C., Debbie F. and Gabriel Garza of Las Vegas and Briana F. Owens of San Marcos; grandchildren April, Anthony and Wendi; great-grandchildren Chrisphor, Skylar, A-man and Adikus.
A private cremation is planned. Burial at sea is planned by the U.S. Navy.

ESCONDIDO - Eugene L. Knight, 49, died Thursday, March 1, 2001.
Born Aug. 23, 1951, in Caldwell, Idaho, he lived in Escondido for 15 years.
He was a self-employed general contractor. He was a volunteer firefighter for Del Dios Fire Department. He enjoyed kayaking, traveling to Mexico and the outdoors.
Mr. Knight was preceded in death by his sister, Sherry Battaglia in 1990. He is survived by his companion Suzette Amon of Del Dios; mother Lucille Knight of Escondido; father Irv Knight of Escondido; daughter and son-in-law Jennifer Lee and Patrick Riels of North Carolina; brother Don Knight of Lake Arrowhead; sister Noni Chalison of Vista; and grandchildren Caitlin Cook Riels and Zoe Allison Thomas Riels.
A graveside service is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 8, at Oakhill Memorial Park with Zachary Elliot officiating.

Ms. Adrian is survived by her daughter, Maril Adrian of Encinitas; brother Fred Silva of Midpines; sister Evelyn Stinnett of Lovelock, Nev.; grandchildren William Beane, Christalyn Simpson and Jeffrey Beane; and great-grandchildren Zachary Simpson, James Simpson, Casey Beane and Kelly Simpson.
