SAN MARCOS - Merwyn Heuring, 78, died Monday, March 5, 2001, at Palomar Medical Center of natural causes.
Born March 19, 1922, in Albertville, Minn., he lived in San Marcos for 10 years. He was a retired electrician and a member of Resurrection Catholic Church in Escondido.
Mr. Heuring is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kathryn M. Heuring of San Marcos; sons Michael Heuring of Stanton, James Heuring of Chattanooga, Tenn., David Heuring of Balsam Lake, Wis., Paul Heuring of Roseville, Minn., and Joseph Heuring of San Diego; daughters Anne Heuring of St. Paul, Minn., Mary Malrick of Moundsview, Minn., and Margaret Koepsell of Morro Bay; sisters Elaine Shogren of Albertville, Minn., and Martha McCullough of Plymouth, Minn.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, March 9, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Escondido. An inurnment will take place at a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

OCEANSIDE - Mark Richard Pallotto, 26, died March 3, 2001, in his home.
Born June 15, 1974, in Big Spring, Texas, he lived in Oceanside for 26 years. He was employed by Columbia Sports Wear and served in the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. Pallotto is survived by his mother Maryann Pallotto and father Tony Lee Pallotto, both of Oceanside; brothers and sister-in-law Tony and Venus Pallotto and Michael Pallotto, all of Oceanside; niece Destinee Pallotto of Oceanside; cousin Jimmy Pallotto of Connecticut; and grandmother Rose DeNigris, of Connecticut.
Visitation and viewing is scheduled from 10 to 11 a.m. and funeral service to start at 11 a.m. today, March 8, at New Song Community Church with the Rev. Gary Vanderford officiating. Burial will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

Morris Barnhart, 66
CARLSBAD - Morris Warren Barnhart, 66, died Thursday, March 1, 2001, at Sharp Memorial Hospital of an extended illness due to heart disease.
Born Sept. 11, 1934, in Wenatchee, Wash., he lived in Carlsbad for 1 1/2 years. He was a director of engineering.
Mr. Barnhart was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Reva Barnhart. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Kathleen Barnhart of Carlsbad; sons and daughters-in-law Michael Barnhart of Las Vegas, Stephen and Tracey Barnhart of Aliso Viejo and Matthew and Michelle Barnhart of Carlsbad; daughters and son-in-law Angie and Steven Ford of Middleton, Wis., Angelae Renato Scotti-belli of Covina, Maureen Bowman of Pasadena and Lana Barnhart of Carlsbad; sister Janet Barnhart of Torrence; and 16 grandchildren.

Daniel Kroeker, 85
ESCONDIDO - Daniel H. Kroeker, 85, died Saturday, March 3, 2001.
Born March 27, 1915, in Turpin, Okla., he lived in Escondido for 61 years. He was a truck driver for Delta Lines for 34 years. He enjoyed rebuilding cars, camping, traveling, and fishing. He collected coffee mugs and built birdhouses and chimes and loved to cook.
Mr. Kroeker was preceded in death by his son Deward Kroeker in 1995. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Sara D. Kroeker of Escondido; son and daughter-in-law Robert and Evelyn Kroeker of Escondido; grandchildren Jack and Jeff Kroeker, Penny Roper and Kara Fuerst; and seven great-grandchildren.
A graveside service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, March 9, at Oak Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Pete Mayfield officiating.

VISTA - Erma Bradford, 72, died Monday, March 5, 2001.
Born Aug. 17, 1928, in Clayton, Idaho, she lived in Vista for 41 years. She was a member of Riverview Evangelical Free Church.
Mrs. Bradford was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Bradford on Dec. 9, 1989. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Steve and Carol Bradford and David and Mimi Bradford, all of Vista; daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and Ron Purdy of Vista; brothers Ray Cloward of Great Falls, Mont., and Bob Cloward of Huntington Beach; sisters Bessy Hammond of Challis, Idaho, June Gammett of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Bonnie Clendenin of Huntington Beach; grandchildren Mike, Matt, Michelle, Steven, Joey Bradford and Ryan, Tammy, and Lori Purdy; and great-grandchildren Christian, Drew, Savannah, Riley, Jake and Cannon.

Thelma Noel, 86
MURRIETA - Thelma Pauline Noel, 86, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at Beverly Healthcare.
Born May 14, 1914, in Texas, she lived in Murrieta for seven years. She worked for Avon as a salesperson for 24 years.
Mrs. Noel is survived by her daughters, Mary Elliott of Covina; Alita Henry of Murrieta, Gloria Sharpless of Santa Ana, and Paula Smith of Murrieta; son William Noel of Hesperia; brothers Jack Chavers and Vern Chavers, both of Norwalk; sister Ruby Taylor of Fallbrook; 22 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at Riverside National Cemetery.

Gordon Hill, 77
LAKE ELSINORE - Gordon Edgar Hill, 77, died at Cherry Valley Health Care in Banning.
Born April 18, 1923, in Weissport, Pa., he lived in Lake Elsinore for 13 years. He worked 34 years for the Leigh Valley-State Costebell in Pennsylvania.
He was injured in the line of duty during World War II and received a unit commendation award on the USS Cassin Young for outstanding heroism in action against enemy forces. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, the American Veterans, the order of the cooties and the Disabled Veterans of America.
Mr. Hill is survived by her daughter, Peggy Beirne of Bethlehem, Pa.; sons Gordon Hill of Saylorsburg, Pa., and Jerry Hill of Easton, Pa.; brother George Hill of San Marcos; sister Anna Weiss of Little Rock, Ark.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, March 9, at the Veterans of Foreign Wars on Mission Terrace.

VISTA - Victoria Jean Monti, 46, died Tuesday, March 6, 2001, at Sunbridge Vista Knoll.
Born Dec. 4, 1954, in Cincinnati, she lived in Vista for 20 years. She was a clerk at Vons grocery store for 13 years.
Ms. Monti is survived by her mother, Deidre Matthias of Vista; daughters Christine Gilbert of Carlsbad and Katherine Freeman of Aguanga; sister Leslie S. Albert of Anza; and paternal grandmother Myrtle DeCastro of Santa Rosa.
No formal services are planned. A private cremation is planned with burial at Mission San Luis Rey Cemetery.

Charles Swihart, 81
MENIFEE - Charles Beldon Swihart, 81, died Monday, March 5, 2001, at Menifee Valley Medical Center of pneumonia.
Born March 16, 1919, in New Philadelphia, Ohio, he lived in Menifee for 12 years. He retired in 1987 from Foote, Axle & Forge in Los Angeles as an operations manager. He served as a sergeant with the 13th Fighter Squadron in the U.S. Army during World War II as a medic in Panama for four years. He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, and American Legion where he was a past commander. He enjoyed golf and stained glass.
Mr. Swihart is survived by his wife, Shirley Swihart of Menifee; daughters Renee Frappier of Wildomar and Loretta Goldy of Portland, Ore.; son Terry Swihart of La Puente; sisters Wanda Clark, Theda Lawrence and Evelyn Anslow, all of New Philadelphia, Ohio; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A private inurnment is planned.

Connie Ashline
Connie Ashline, 64, of Encinitas, died Friday, March 2, 2001. Connie was born in Sioux City, Iowa.
Her sons, Scott Ashline and wife Noemi Ashline of Del Mar; her son Steve Ashline of Encinitas; and her daughter Kathryn Ashline and husband Jim Watson of Seattle, survive her. Connie had two grandchildren, Amanda Ashline and Jonathon Watson, and is survived by her two sisters, Mary Arledge of Las Vegas and Martha Weaver of Denver.
Connie was very active in the North County community. She worked in residential real estate for over 20 years in Colorado and San Diego. Connie was consistently one of the top brokers at Coldwell Banker in Carlsbad.
Connie had a passion for traveling. She traveled extensively throughout the world. Connie was also an avid fan of outdoor sports; she enjoyed skiing, hiking, biking, kayaking, and often a simple walk on the beach with friends. In addition, Connie was frequently seen at theaters, plays, and musicals throughout San Diego. Furthermore, she enjoyed singing in the New Venture Church choir.
Connie died from a seven-month battle with ovarian cancer.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 23, at 11 a.m. The services will be held at Seagrove Park, 15th Street, overlooking the ocean in Del Mar.

Thelma Rosalie Randall
Thelma Rosalie Randall, 81, died Wednesday, March 7, 2001, after a lengthy illness.
Thelma was born in Topeka, Kan., on July 10, 1919, to Grace Kenney Taylor and Jesse H. Taylor. She lived in Escondido for 42 years. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Randall was preceded in death by her husband, David Earl Randall; son Edmund Gill III; son-in-law Harold Wayne Turner; brother Jesse G. Taylor; sister Luella M. Gray; granddaughter Amy Cosby Rosecrans; and great-grandchildren Draven Rosecrans and Jayson Cosby.
She is survived by her daughter Shirley Rae Turner; daughters and sons-in-law Jeanette and Ross Calarco and Melody and Bruce Griffith of Escondido and Luella and Richard Cosby of Leeds, Utah; grandchildren Kathryn Turner Arsenault (Arthur), Stacey Turner Contreras (Manuel), Sarah Turner McSpadden (Steve), Walter Wayne Turner (Tonya), Dominic Calarco (Ruth), Matthew Calarco (Nicole), Randy Cosby (Amy) Jennifer Yates (Scott), Joshua Griffith and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. today, March 9, at McLeod Mortuary with the Rev. Pete Mayfield officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Escondido.

Jerry Adante
Jerry Adante passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2001, in Sandpoint, Idaho, after a brief illness.
Prior to 1995, Jerry was a former ³local² of the Cardiff/Encinitas area where he worked in the cabinet making business and pursued his other loves of photography and music.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Kristine Kamp-Adante; father and stepmother Rudy and Donna Olazabal; brother Terry Olazabal, all of Sandpoint; mother Irene Olazabal of Hacienda Heights; paternal grandmother Vera Olazabal of Camarillo; brothers Gary Adante of Valencia, Carey Olazabal of West Virginia; sisters Cathy Olazabal of Santa Monica and Dawn Olazabal Munoz of Westchester; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Buena Park - Elsie A. Koehl, age 89, passed on Tuesday, March 6, 2001, at home.
Mrs. Koehl was preceded in death by her husband James F. Koehl and daughters Betty Butler and Alice Celaya. She is survived by her son, Joseph Weaver of Torrington, Connecticut; daughters Edith Hambey of Buena Park, Dorothy Jane Raybe of Farmersville, sons Robert Weaver of Arroyo Grande, John Koehl of Highlands Ranch, Colo., and Rudy Koehl of Escondido.
Born Jan. 11, 1912, in New York, she lived in Southern California for 50 years. She was a waitress and homemaker with her greatest accomplishment as that of mother and grandmother.
Our beloved ³Nannie² shall live on in her 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Sidney Earl Weiser
Sidney Earl Weiser, 87, of Vista, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2001, at his home.
Born Nov. 30, 1913, in McComb, Mo., he was a resident of Vista since 1949. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 12 for more than 40 years. He was a life long member of both the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Redman organizations.
An avid outdoorsman with an affinity for gems and minerals, Sidney was always hunting for that ³special rock.²
Sidney is survived by his wife and best friend of 63 years, Leona and children Mary Blankenship and ³Tex² Weiser. He is also survived by his brothers Jimmy and Johnny; sisters Bonnie, Mary Ellen, Patty, Polly, Betty and Ada Mae; grandchildren Rhett, Sidney, Tim and Kevin; and great-grandchildren Alexandra, Analyssa and Spencer.
Family memorial services will be held.
