ENCINITAS - Bernard E. Snyder, 75, died Monday, March 12, 2001, at his home of cancer.
He was the owner of Best Beauty Supply in Carlsbad and Encinitas for 16 years.
He was a World War II veteran, a former Mason and a member of Knights of Pythias. He had been a supervisor for Blue Bird Foods and a government meat inspector.
Mr. Snyder was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Kahl Snyder.
He is survived by his companion Patti Adler and her daughter Lea Jones of Encinitas; son and daughter-in-law Mark and Sharon Snyder; daughters and son-in-law Linda and Barry Horrow and Jill Snyder all of Pennsylvania; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled for 5 p.m. Sunday, April 1, at the Olympic Resort in Carlsbad. Mr. Snyder was buried March 15, in Philadelphia.

Patrick Sciarretta, 88
RAMONA - Patrick "Pat" Sciarretta, 88, died Saturday, March 24, 2001, after a lengthy illness.
Born March 17, 1913, in Benevento, Italy, he lived in Ramona since 1948.
He worked many years for the Ed Nelson Construction Co. and was a plumber and mason. He loved going to the Del Mar Racetrack, the San Diego Padres games and bowled in a league for many years. He also enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
Mr. Sciarretta is survived by his wife of 62 years, Josephine "Josie" L. Sciarretta of Ramona; son Joseph A. Sciarretta of Ramona; daughters Patricia Hoerr of Escondido and Louis Ford of San Marcos; brother Anthony Sciarretta of Waterbury, Conn.; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Viewing is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 30, at Bonham Bros. & Lee Ramona Chapel.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 31, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael J. Sinor, pastor of the church, officiating.
A rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. before the Mass. Graveside service and burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 2, at Nuevo Memory Gardens.

LAKE SAN MARCOS - Alfred C. Ybarra, 95, died Sunday, March 25, 2001, in Escondido.
Born March 26, 1905, in Los Angeles, he was a 31-year county resident. He was retired from John Wayne Productions as an art director for 10 years.
Mr. Ybarra was preceded in death by his wife, Caroline E. Ybarra on Dec. 28, 1993.
He is survived by nieces Ervina Graham Miller of Temple City, Shirley Diefenbach of Los Angeles, Gloria Williams of Oregon, Lucile Paz of Mission Viejo and Yolanda Romero of Los Angeles; nephews Edward Kayo Ybarra and Thomas LeBrun, both of Oregon; and grandnephew George Graham of Los Alamitos.
A private cremation is planned. No service will be held at the request of the deceased.

RAMONA - Irene Vivian Hall, 93, died Friday, March 23, 2001, at Pomerado Hospital in Poway.
Born May 23, 1907, in Waynesville, Mo., she lived in Ramona since 1994. Previously she lived in Montrose, Colo. She enjoyed sewing and the "Waltons" on TV.
Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her husband, R.H. Hall; and daughter Ruth Day in Aug. 1999.
She is survived by grandchildren Richard Free and Vickie Patterson; great-grandchildren Brian and Shawn Patterson and R. Jae and Lacy Free, all of Ramona.
Services and burial will be held at the Cedar Cemetery in Montrose, Colo., where she will be buried in the family plot.

Lillie Ravaioli, 94
SAN MARCOS - Lillie Mae Ravaioli, 94, died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at Brookdale Place of San Marcos.
Born Oct. 22, 1906, in Vineland, Ala., she lived in San Marcos for 50 years.
She was an avocado grower for 17 years.
Mrs. Ravaioli was preceded in death by her husband Dante Ravaioli, in 1998.
No formal services are planned.

William Stansbury, 91
RAMONA - William L. Stansbury, 91, died Friday, March 23, 2001, at Palomar Medical Center of natural causes.
Born Dec. 2, 1909, in Osceola, Iowa, he lived in Ramona since 1944.
He was a self-employed rancher and retired in 1963. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Ramona.
Mr. Stansbury was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma M. Stansbury on June 7, 2000.
He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Jan A. Niles and James Robinson of Lanham, Md., and Mary Lou and Michael Chiara of Cedar City, Utah; grandchildren Tracy Buyton and Bonnie Harris; and great-grandchildren Brandon and Alexis Ramos and Aija Harris.
A memorial service was held on Monday, March 26, at First Christian Church with Bill Zabriskie officiating.
Interment will take place at a later date at Nuevo Gardens.

RANCHO SANTA FE - Norman P. "Put" Ream Jr., 82, died Thursday, March 22, 2001.
Born Nov. 23, 1918, in New York City, he was a long time resident of California.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He loved the ocean and boating and completed several Trans-Pac and Newport to Ensenada races.
He enjoyed cruising the coast of San Diego and Coronado Islands.
Mr. Ream is survived by his wife of 58 years, Phebe Ream; sister Caroline of Greenwich, Conn.; sons Norman of Encinitas and Christopher of Pacific Beach; daughter Margaret of Encinitas; one granddaughter and four grandsons.
A private scattering of his ashes will take place the morning of April 6, with a wake that afternoon at his Rancho Santa Fe home.

CARLSBAD - Donald G. Peters, 64 died Friday, March 16, 2001, at Veterans Hospital in La Jolla.
Born Aug. 5, 1936, in Minden, La., he lived in Carlsbad for nine years.
He was a self-employed fitness trainer. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1956 to 1958 as a sergeant.
He was a film and television actor and a professional bodybuilder. He was "Mr. America" in the late 1960s.
Mr. Peters is survived by his mother, Bertie Peters of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; son Stephen B. Peters of Columbus, Ohio; sister Sue Frankland of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; and ex-wife Dolores Peters of Sherman Oaks.
A memorial service is scheduled for 4 p.m. today, March 28, at Allen Bros. Mortuary, San Marcos Chapel.
Inurnment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville, Texas. A private cremation is planned.

TEMECULA - Gary A. Fuller, 53, died Saturday, March 17, 2001, at his home of a heart attack.
Born April 23, 1947, in Bradshaw, W.Va., he lived in Temecula for 15 years. He was employed by Ron Burns Construction Co. in Riverside as a carpenter foreman. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968.
Mr. Fuller was preceded in death by his mother, Melba Fuller, in 1995. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Joyce Fuller, of Temecula; stepmother, Sue Fuller, and father, Tom Fuller, both of St. George, Utah; daughters Jennifer Oliver of Hohenwald, Tenn., and Leslie Fuller of Temecula; and brother Tom Fuller of Riverside.
Inurnment is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 30, at Riverside National Cemetery, staging area 3.

Robert Hall, 79
OCEANSIDE - Robert W. Hall, 79, died Thursday, March 22, 2001, at Tri-City Medical Center of cancer.
Born Oct. 2, 1921, in Seattle, he lived in Oceanside for eight years. He retired in October 1980, after working for J.C. Penney Co. for 31 years. After graduating from U.C. Berkley, he served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was manager of J.C. Penney in Oceanside from 1962 to 1969. He was active in the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, Elks Club and was director of the USO in Oceanside for two years.
Mr. Hall is survived by his wife of 34 years, Madeleine "Lynn" Hall, of Oceanside; son and daughter-in-law Michael and Marta Hall of Carlsbad; brother-in-law and sister-in-law John and Evelyn Harty of Leucadia; and grandchildren Jason and Christopher Hall of Carlsbad.
No formal services will be held at the request of the deceased. A private family service will be held out at sea with the scattering of his ashes at 11 a.m. today, March 29.

ESCONDIDO - Joanne McClintock, 85, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2001.
Born May 27, 1915, in Bellevue, Ohio, she lived in Escondido for 30 years. She had been a secretary for Mobil Oil Company.
Mrs. McClintock was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde McClintock on Dec. 12, 1998. She is survived by nephew Daven Lewis and his wife Merry of Grants Pass, Ore.

Stanley Gorgol, 75
CARLSBAD - Stanley "Stan" F. Gorgol, 75, Saturday, March 24, 2001, at Las Villas de Carlsbad.
Born July 31, 1925, in Johnson City, N.Y., he lived in Carlsbad for 10 years. He retired from the U.S. Navy as a Aviation Electronics Chief and later from the Avionics Division, Naval Air Station North Island. He was a lifetime member of Chula Vista Lodge No. 626 F&AM, having served as Master, member Homes Endowment Board, Inspector of the 642nd Masonic District, and associate guardian of Jobs Daughters, Bethel 146. He was a member of San Dieguito Masonic Lodge No. 775, Cardiff. He enjoyed boating, water skiing and traveling.
Mr. Gorgol is survived by his wife, Hope Gorgol of Carlsbad; daughters Patricia Schneider of Escondido, Carolyn Semrow of Lubbock, Texas; son Michael Elwood of Las Vegas; stepsons Lloyd Martin and Timothy Martin of North Carolina; sister Ruth Ann Hughston; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday March 30, at the Chula Vista Masonic Center. Cremation and scattering at sea is planned.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her son Robert Jones Jr., of Hawaiian Gardens; daughters Yvonne Sullivan of San Diego, Leslie Jones of Oceanside and Kristina Jones of Boemerton, Wash.; brothers William Dixon of Freeport, N.Y., and Pee Wee Dixon of Utica, N.Y.; sisters Norma Tape and Fannie Truman, both of Syracuse, N.Y.; and grandchildren Janelle Sullivan, Stephanie Sullivan and Malik Jones.
