WILDOMAR - Donald Gordon Olsen, 65, died Friday, May 5, 2000, of esophageal carcinoma, at his home.
Born Sept. 4, 1934, in Long Beach, he lived in Wildomar for three years. He was an electronic salesman for Lex Services and was a member of L.E.G.M.S. corral 59 and the Mojave County Sheriff's Posse. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958.
Mr. Olsen is survived by his wife, Nancy Olsen of Wildomar; stepsons Charles Stuewe of Placentia, Kenneth Stuewe of Costa Mesa and Kirk Stuewe of Anaheim; daughters Connie Owens of Ballinger, Texas, Sherry Frank of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Nancy Ann Kyker of Washougal, Wash.; stepdaughter Karen Lynn Kovalsky of Fishers, Ind.; and sister Janet Reaney of Hemet.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, May 10, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Sun City.

MURRIETA - Jeanne Maxine Larson, 75, died Friday, May 19, 2000, of complications from surgery, in Phoenix.
Born Nov. 11, 1924, in Towne, N.D., she lived in Murrieta for six years. She was an ultrasound technician for 12 years.

LAKE ELSINORE - Vidala Torres, 87, died Sunday, May 21, 2000, at Corona Regional Medical Center.
Born April 28, 1913, in Leigh, Okla., she lived in Lake Elsinore for 51 years. She was a homemaker for 70 years.
Mrs. Torres is survived by her sons, Bob Torres of Ontario, Ralph Torres of Moreno Valley and Mick Torres of Lake Elsinore; daughters Rosa Torres of Mukilteo, Wash., and Lupe Rodriguez of Lake Elsinore; brother John Luna of Lake Elsinore; sisters Julia Solis of Fontana and Mary Martinez of Colton; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. today, May 24, at Evans Brown Sun City Mortuary. A funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. Burial will take place following the service at Elsinore Valley Cemetery.

SUN CITY - Cornelius Wilhelmus Huyg, 89, died Friday, May 19, 2000, at his home.
Born Dec. 17, 1910, in Holland, he lived in Sun City for 25 years. He was a janitor for the Artesia-Bellflower-Carmenita Unified School District for six years and was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church.
Mr. Huyg is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Huyg of Sun City; son Conrad Huyg of Wildomar; sister Charlotte Koch of Norwalk; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

TEMECULA - Mederic Albert LaCasse, 77, died Sunday, May 21, 2000, in Temecula.
Born Nov. 19, 1922, in Montreal, he lived in Temecula for 10 years. He was a bus driver for the Los Angeles Rapid Transit District for 30 years and a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Fallbrook and the Knights of Columbus, Council 9964 in Temecula.
Mr. LaCasse is survived by his wife of 52 years, Alice Nault LaCasse of Temecula; sons Rene LaCasse of Moorpark and Michel LaCasse of Milledgeville, Ga.; daughters Louise LaCasse-Bernargo of Mission Viejo and Ginette LaCasse of Everett, Wash.; sister Simone Hebert of Montreal; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Fallbrook. A private cremation is planned with interment to take place at a date to be determined at Mission San Luis Rey Cemetery.

Mr. Wallace is survived by his mother, Mary Nell Wallace of Oceanside; father Jim Wallace of Arlington, Texas; brother Rick Wallace of San Francisco; and sister Cheryl Wallace of Fort Worth, Texas.

Born Aug. 30, 1924, in Lithuania, he lived in Oceanside for 20 years. He was a self-employed bookkeeper and accountant.
Mr. Remeika is survived by his wife of eight years, Vanda Remeika of Oceanside; son and daughter-in-law Bob and Susan Remeika of Santa Ana; daughter and son-in-law Sandi and Joe Poniatowski of Torrington, Conn.; brother Bronius Remeika of Lithuania; and grandchildren Bob and Robyn Remeika and Stephanie and Allison Poniatowski.

Mrs. Rascona is survived by her sons, Jack Gilliland of Yreka, Fred Gilliland of Lincoln, Neb., Johnny Gilliland of Custer, S.D., and James Gilliland of Battle Ground, Wash.; daughters Wanda Tisdel of Glendora, Juanita Boag of Long Beach, Dorothy Band of Livermore and Linda Clayton of Yreka; 17 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

John Kanyuscsik, 88
OCEANSIDE - John Andrew Kanyuscsik, 88, died Sunday, May 21, 2000, at Ville Monte Vista Nursing Home.
Born May 10, 1912, in Hungary, he lived in Oceanside for 15 years. He was a supervisor for McDonnell Douglas before retiring and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Kanyuscsik was preceded in death by his wife, Chole Kanyuscsik in 1993. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Steven and Pearl Kanyuscsik of Minnesota; and sisters and brothers-in-law Helen and John Powers of Conway, Ark., Margaret and Logan Locke of Riverside, Ann Furille of Laguna Hills and Elizabeth Ferensy of Huntington Beach.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 26, at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, with the Rev. Don Hall officiating. Burial will follow at noon.

ESCONDIDO - Marilyn Jess, 73, died Thursday, May 4, 2000, of cancer, at Palomar Medical Center.
Born Oct. 27, 1926, in Dubuque, Iowa, she lived in Escondido for 45 years. She worked as a secretary and administrative assistant for the FAA at Miramar Naval Air Station, retiring in 1984 after more than 25 years. She also worked as a temporary secretary with a local law firm through Kelly Services. She was a member of St. Mary's Church and the Church of the Resurrection in Escondido. She was the corresponding secretary for the San Diego Chapter of Federally Employed Women, Inc. from 1978-79.
Mrs. Jess is survived by her son, Stephen Jess of Boise, Idaho; daughter and son-in-law Kay and Matt Yancy of Fallbrook; brother Donald Bartch of Raleigh, N. C.; grandchild Shellee Burlington of Valley Center; and great-grandchildren Katie Burlington and Julie Burlington, both of Valley Center.
A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 22, at Oak Hill Cemetery.

VISTA - Charlene L. Jones, 74, died Wednesday, May 17, 2000.
Born Nov. 28, 1925, in Missoula, Mont., she lived in San Diego County for 30 years. She was a commercial insurance underwriter before retiring and a member of Kappa Alpha Theta.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her son, Shane Jones of Pennsylvania; daughters Maureen Thomas of Vista and Tamara Jones of Virginia; and granddaughter Briana Jones of Pennsylvania.

Born April 18, 1913, in Zahle, Lebanon, she lived in Escondido for 26 years. She was a self-employed beautician for 35 years.
Mrs. Odgers was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick William Odgers on Jan. 24, 1996. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Marilyn Odgers of Laguna Niguel; daughters and sons-in-law Diana and Joe Oliver of San Marcos and Sharon and Mike Powell of Santa Ana; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Webb was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Webb, in 1998. George Neville, 69
TEMECULA - George William Neville, 69, died Sunday, May 21, 2000, at his home in Temecula.
Born Nov. 5, 1930, in Billings, Mont., he lived in Temecula. He was a surveyor and construction manager throughout the United States and in the Pacific and Southeast Asia. He was also chief estimator for American Contracting in Temecula. He served in the U.S. Army Infantry during the Korean War and was wounded in the retreat to the Pusan perimeter.
Mr. Neville is survived by his son, Jon Neville of Escondido; sister Daphne Linscott of Billings, Mont.; caretaker Penney Flores; and friends and colleagues.

MURRIETA - Edward Arthur Lauzon, 65, died Tuesday, May 23, 2000, of cancer, at his home in Murrieta.
Born April 29, 1935, in River Rouge, Mich., he lived in Murrieta for 17 years. He was a steelworker at Great Lakes Steel in Ecorse, Mich., for 31 years and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1959.
Mr. Lauzon is survived by his wife, Sharon Lauzon of Murrieta; mother Loretta Lauzon of Asheville, N.C.; son Edward Lauzon of Menifee; daughters Carol Masterson of Huntington Beach and Lori Ring of Costa Mesa; brothers Fred Lauzon of Cincinnati and Lawerence Lauzon of Riverview, Mich.; sisters Janet Raymo of Monroe, Wash., and Elizabeth Wild of Marshall, N.C.; and 10 grandchildren.

Born March 30, 1939, in Jerome, Idaho, he lived in Sun City for five years. He was a superintendent of irrigation for UC Riverside for 20 years and taught Braille at Kay Ceniceros Multipurpose Center and was a member of the Fishing Club, both in Sun City.
Mr. Sheppeard is survived by his wife, Patricia Sheppeard of Sun City; son Randy Sheppeard of Hemet; daughter Wendy Lee of Murrieta; brother Norman Sheppeard of Riverside; sister Ellen Clark of Leavenworth, Wash.; and four grandchildren.
