ESCONDIDO - Frances Ware Haller, 97, died Tuesday, May 2, at her home.
Born June 17, 1902, in Altona, Ill., she lived in Escondido for 75 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Hidden Valley Christian Church.
Mrs. Haller was preceded in death by her husband, Fred A. Haller, on Dec. 6, 1993. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy Paris, Janet and the Rev. Pete Mayfield and June and Robert Osborne, all of Escondido; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 6, at Hidden Valley Christian Church, with her son-in-law, the Rev. Pete Mayfield, officiating. A private burial will take place at Oak Hill Memorial Park where she will be buried with her late husband.

OCEANSIDE - Erika Anna Boles, 80, died Monday, May 1, 2000, in Oceanside.
Born Aug. 26, 1919, in Manheim, Germany, she lived in Carlsbad and Oceanside for 54 years. She was a librarian for the Carlsbad Unified School District before retiring and a member of Young Ladies Institute, Stella Maris Chapter and Beta Sigma Phi.
Mrs. Boles was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Boles, in 1972. She is survived by her son, Philip Boles Jr. of Oceanside; daughter Erika Galloway of Carlsbad; sisters Helene Dodd of Oceanside and Madeline Liebold of Portsmouth, Va.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Friday, May 5, at Oceanside Mortuary. A graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. at All Saints Episcopal Cemetery, with the Rev. Steve McCall officiating.

Aniceto Rodriguez, 72, died Monday, May 1, 2000, at Sunbridge East in Escondido.
Born April 17, 1928, in Jalisco, Mexico, she lived in Escondido for 10 years. She worked for Spires restaurant for five years and was a member of the Resurrection Catholic Church in Escondido.
Mrs. Rodriguez is survived by her brothers, Tiburcio Rodriguez and Luis Rodriguez, both of Mexico; brother-in-law Ventura Covarrubias of Escondido; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 4, at Resurrection Catholic Church. A Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 5, at Resurrection Catholic Church, with the Rev. David Sereno officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

FALLBROOK - Eileen Margaret Ambrose, 98, died Friday, April 28, 2000, in Fallbrook.
Born Dec. 2, 1901, in Cleveland, she lived in Fallbrook for 30 years. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Fallbrook, serving as president of the Altar Society. She was an air raid warden during World War II.
Mrs. Ambrose was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Ambrose, in 1994. She is survived by her son, James A. Ambrose of Herndon, Va.; daughter Mary Height of Santa Maria; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., with a vigil service at 7 p.m., today, May 4, at Berry-Bell & Hall Mortuary Chapel. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 6, at Holy Cross Cemetery in Los Angeles. Burial will follow.

Born April 6, 1923, in Opheim, Mont., he lived in Vista since 1987. He graduated from Oregon State University in 1950 and served as an officer in the U.S. Navy. He worked in sales and management for IBM for 30 years before retiring.
Mr. Cuniff is survived by his wife, Mary Cuniff of Vista; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Sharon Cuniff; daughters and son-in-law Kristine and Randy Bradley and Diane Cuniff; and grandchildren Allison Bradley-Bradac and Scott Bradley.

Mrs. Dubs was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Martin Dubs, in January 1993. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Susan Hickok of Dana Point; sister Gloria Bruce of Vista; and niece Teresa Hickok of Bonita.

Born Feb. 26, 1919, in Seattle, she lived in San Marcos for 22 years. She was a homemaker for 58 years and a member of the La Moree Estates Woman's Club and Card Club.
Mrs. Gresham is survived by her husband of 58 years, William A. Gresham of San Marcos; son and daughter-in-law Keith and Marce Gresham of Vista; brother George Jacklin of Huntington Beach; sister-in-law Katherine Gresham of Savannah, Ga.; grandchild Carly Noell Gresham of Vista; nephew George F. Mrs. Wollter was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Keturi, in 1993. She is survived by her husband of seven years, Dana Wollter of Escondido; father Alec Keturi of Youngville; mother and father-in-law Ruth and Robert Wollter of Escondido; brother and sister-in-law John and LeAnne Keturi of El Cajon; brother-in-law Tom Titus of Eugene, Ore.; sisters-in-law Kimberlee Wollter of Eugene, and Robin Wollter of San Diego; nephew Kevin Hourigan of Lancaster; one stepnephew; and niece Michelle Smith of Lancaster.

RAMONA - Merle L. Brady, 76, died Monday, May 1, 2000, at a local hospital.
Born Dec. 3, 1923, in Oklahoma City, Okla. he lived in Ramona for five years. He was a machinist engineer at rohr Manufacturing for 30 years and served in the U.S. Navy as an aviation machinist mate, first class, during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Brady is survived by his wife of 52 years, Fern L. Brady of Ramona; sons Ronnie Walters of El Cajon and Richard Brady of Temecula; daughters Jeanne Howell of Ramona, Bobbie Sanchez of Borrego Springs and Patricia Wilkening of Bruning, Neb.; brother Bill Brady of Peoria, Ill.; sisters Margie Roeder of Stillwater, Kan., and Shirley Marler of Coffeyville, Kan.; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

SAN MARCOS - Gary Good, 59, died Thursday, April 6, 2000.
Born Dec. 12, 1940, in Cherokee, Iowa, he lived in San Marcos. He worked for Twin Oaks Market for many years and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He also worked in the wholesale business.
Mr. Good is survived by his wife, Alice Good of San Marcos; brother Bill Good of Colorado; and sister Karen Good of Colorado.
His ashes were interred at Riverside National Cemetery.
W. V. Magoon, 77
ESCONDIDO - W. V. "Mac" Magoon, 77, died Sunday, April 30, 2000, in Escondido.
Born Jan. 6, 1923, in Carl Junction, Mo., he lived in Escondido for 54 years. He was an assistant postmaster for the U.S. Postal Service in Econdido before retiring in 1981. He served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the European Theatre during World War II and was a member of Emmanuel Faith Community Church for 50 years.
Mr. Magoon is survived by his wife of 51 years, Gertie Magoon of Escondido; sons Duane Magoon of Bethel, Alaska, Allan Magoon of Ellensburg, Wash., and Kevin magoon of Oceanside; daughters Francine Sauceda of Santa Cruz and Tina Visser of Boise, Idaho; and grandchildren Heather, Summer, Shannon, Erika, Colleen, Melanie, Jacob and Andrew.
A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 8, at North County Baptist Church in Escondido, with the Rev. Jim Learned officiating. A private scattering of ashes took place Wednesday, May 3, off the coast of Oceanside.

CARLSBAD - Ralph Warren Larsen, 79, died Monday, May 1, 2000, at a care center in Carlsbad.
Born March 11, 1921, in Franklin, Pa., he lived in La Jolla after World War II and moved to Solana Beach in the early '50s. He owned and operated the La Jolla Delivery Service for more than 40 years and was a member of the Encinitas Elks Lodge. He served in the U.S. Army Air corps.
Mr. Larsen is survived by his daughters, Beverly Larsen of Cardiff and Karen Gammeter of Encinitas; brothers Jacob Larsen of Franklin and Raymond Larsen of San Diego; sister Irene Plowman of Franklin; grandchildren Michael Stanton of Trona, Renee Schweighofer of Encinitas and Mitchell Gammeter of Hollywood; great-grandchild Kristin Stanton of La Habra; and many nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. today, May 4, at the Encinitas Mortuary. A funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, May 5, also at Encinitas Mortuary. A private cremation is planned and burial will take place at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in Point Loma.

ENCINITAS - Richard Henry "Sonny" Stanton Jr., 72, died Sunday, April 23, 2000.
Born July 16, 1927, in Yuma, Ariz., he lived in Encinitas for 35 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Stanton was preceded in death by his father, Richard Henry "Whitey" Stanton; and his mother, Edna Stovall Stanton. He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Ed and Blanche Stanton, Ron and Gloria Stanton, Dick and Marsha Stanton; sister and brother-in-law LaVerne Stanton Shaw and Sid Shaw; nephews Nick, Robert, Charles, Richard, Glenn, Andrew, Nathan, Mathew and Richard Stanton; nieces Robin Tworek Hungerford, Cyd Shaw and Vickie Shaw; and many great-nephews and great-nieces.
A memorial service was held Monday, May 1, at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Encinitas. A private Interment will take place at a later date.

Born March 16, 1934, in Iowa, he lived in Oceanside for 15 years. He worked for the U.S. Government and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. State was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Mary State of Oceanside; sons and daughters-in-law Robert and Sharon State of Vista, Russ and Traci State of Iowa and Randy and Erin State of Oceanside; brother Doug State of Nebraska; sister Dorothy Murphy of Missouri; and five grandchildren.

Mr. Dean is survived by his wife, Wanda N. Dean of Vista; sons Jim Dean of Michigan and John Dean of Florida; daughter Barbara Wade of Washington; and three grandchildren.
