Born June 20, 1916, in Buffalo, N.Y., she lived in San Marcos for one year. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Critchlow was preceded in death by her husband, Paul N. Critchlow, in 1984.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Charles and Susan Critchlow of Cardiff, Peter Critchlow of Maui, Hawaii, and John and Betty Burns of Salisbury, N.C.; daughters and sons-in-law Patricia and James Kennedy of Red Bluff and Ruth and Paul Atkinson of Leucadia; sister Mary Messinger of Salisbury; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at Eternal Hills Chapel.

Herman Haynes, 75
OCEANSIDE - Herman V. Haynes, 75, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, in Oceanside.
Born March 21, 1925, in Jurdon, Ky., he lived in Oceanside for 36 years. He worked for the civil service in the maintenance department at Camp Pendleton and served in the U.S. Marine Corps, retiring as a sergeant major. He earned a bachelor of science degree from San Diego State and enjoyed painting.
Mr. Haynes was preceded in death by his mother, Flora Haynes; and his father, William Haynes. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Constance Haynes of Oceanside; sons and daughter-in-law Robert and Shirley Haynes of Carlsbad and Carl Haynes of San Diego; daughters and son-in-law Mauretia and Bill Anderson of Oceanside and Diana Romo of Escondido; brothers and sister-in-law Freddie Haynes of Yuma, Ariz., and Delbert and June Haynes of Potts Camp, Mississippi; sisters and brothers-in-law Mary and Harold Bernero of Phoenix, Mattie and Bob Mosby of Austin, Texas, and Jennie Mae Braddock of , Ripley, Mississippi; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, with the Rev. Lonnie Castille officiating.

FORKS, Wash. - Edward P. Mahoney, 76, died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000, in Washington.
Born June 8, 1924, in San Diego, he previously lived in Carlsbad. He was a member of Palomar Fliers.
Mr. Mahoney was preceded in death by his wife, Melba T. Mahoney, in 1982. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Lana Rosten Mahoney of Washington; son Christopher Mahoney of Colorado; daughters and sons-in-law Patricia and Mark Gomez of Encinitas, Jennifer Mahoney of Carlsbad and Suzanne and Scott Grubaugh of Idaho; and six grandchildren.
A private service is planned. Burial will take place at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

IRVING, Texas - Lottie Ava Flournoy, 90, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000.
Born April 21, 1920, in Comanche County, Texas, she lived in Texas. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of the Church of Christ.
Mrs. Flournoy was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Fred Flournoy. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Fred and Candy Flournoy of Vista and Dan and Emily Flournoy of Irving; daughters and son-in-law Wilma Peterson of Lake Hughes, Ruth Ann and Don Ross of Spokane and Rebecca Flournoy of Spokane; sisters Mary Trice of Anchorage, Alaska, Fay Vasbinder, Nora Thornhill and Dessie Wilson, all of Midland, Texas, and Leona Hargrove of Jonestown, Texas; brothers Virgil Casbeer and Dan Casbeer, both of Midland; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, at Brown's Funeral Home in Irving. A funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, at the North A and Tennessee Church of Christ in Midland, with Dave Miller officiating. Interment

CARLSBAD - Harold Lloyd Parsons, 79, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital.
Born Jan. 15, 1921, in Oklahoma, he lived in Carlsbad for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean and Vietnam wars, retiring as a colonel in June 1970.
Mr. Parsons is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jacqueline Parsons of Carlsbad; son Kelly Parsons of Oceanside; daughter Diane Parsons of Carlsbad; sisters Ruby Berardi of Reno, Nev., and Geneva Burt of St. Louis; and grandchildren Michelle Marziaz of Oceanside and Michael Marziaz of Macon, Ga.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. Inurnment will follow.

MENIFEE - Eva Mae Johnson, 70, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, of cardiorespiratory disease, at her home.
Born May 28, 1930, in Knox County, Ill., she lived in Menifee for eight years. She was a teacher for the Los Angeles Unified School District for 32 years and was a member of the American Association of University Women, Kappa Kappa Iota, the CEC Council for Exceptional Children in Los Angeles, the Menifee Lake Women's Club and the River Christian Fellowship Church in Temecula. She enjoyed singing and was a member of the Long Beach Community College Women's Choir. She graduated with a master's degree in education from California Lutheran and was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority at Augstana University in Illinois, where she received her bachelor of arts degree. She enjoyed walking and the theater, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband, Jack Johnson of Menifee; sons James Johnson of Agua Dulce and Ted Johnson of Temecula; daughters Julie Peterson of Quail Valley and Ruth Stiefel of Canyon Lake; sisters Ruth Echelberger of Sun City and Lenore Leander of Cambridge, Ill.; and 12 grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, at Lighthouse Christian Fellowship.

Born March 13, 1910, in Swink, Okla., she lived in Temecula for 12 years. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Allen is survived by her daughters, Deborah Henry and Diana Johnson, both of Temecula, and Judith West of Costa Mesa; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

ESCONDIDO - Gabor Fodor, 84, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, at Palomar Medical Center.
Born Dec. 5, 1915, in Budapest, Hungary, he lived in Escondido for one year. He was an organic chemistry professor at West Virginia University.
Mr. Fodor is survived by his wife of six years, Anna Maria Fodor of Escondido; sons Andras Fodor and Gabor Fodor, both of Hungary, and Ernest Fodor of Nicaragua; daughters Dr. Gabrielle Fodor Morris, Anna Fodor and Nora Fodor, all of Escondido, Danielle Robertson of West Virginia and Judith Fodor of Hungary; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

JULIAN - George W. Vrable, 79, died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000, in Vista.
Born April 9, 1921, in Brownsville, Pa., he lived in Julian for 24 years. He was a fireman before retiring in 1975 and served as a gunnery sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars in Julian.
Mr. Vrable was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Vrable. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, George and Teri Vrable of Fort Ludlow, Wash.; daughters and son-in-law Linda Gearing and Debbie and Larry Goddard, all of Vista; brother Steve Vrable of Carlsbad; a sister in Ohio and a sister in Pennsylvania; grandchildren Derek, Heidi, Danica, Jacob, Tom, Heather, James, Jessica, Jeff, Jillian and Jasmine; and great-grandchild Phoebe.

Mrs. Prigg was preceded in death by her husband, Leigh Prigg, in 1982; and her daughters, Sally Prigg, in 1971, and Beki Frye Wooley, in 1988. She is survived by her great-granddaughters, Heidi Frye Undlin and Megan Rose Undlin, both of Nebraska; and sister Mae Zagar of Oregon.

Born in Brookings, S.D., he lived in Oceanside for 25 years before moving to Brea. He worked for agricultural nurseries and did photo finishing. He attended business college in California and working in the accounting department for McDonnell Douglas for 40 years. He enjoyed travel and was an author, train enthusiast and amateur photographer.
Mr. Clarin is survived by his cousins, Leita Lottes, Winnie Lacy, Mary Ann Nese, Donna McNair, Pat Harter and Kathleen Nelson.
