Born Aug. 7, 1976, in New Bedford, Mass., he lived in Oceanside for one year.
Mr. Branchaud is survived by his mother and father, Darlene and Garry Branchaud of Massachusetts; and sister Heather Branchaud of Massachusetts.

Millard Bell, 84
VISTA - Millard Lee Bell, 84, died Friday, March 31, 2000, at his home.
Born Aug. 7, 1915, in North Carolina, he lived in Vista for 22 years. He was a carpenter for Bell Construction.
Mr. Branchaud is survived by his wife of 56 years, Alzonia "Pat" Bell of Vista; son and daughter-in-law Garrett Jesse and Donna Bell of Vista; daughters and sons-in-law Bonnie and Jim Skinner of Oceanside, Jessie and Richard Hudson of Vista and Gina and Mark Cooper Sr. of Winston Salem, N.C.; sisters and brother-in-law Mabel and Thurman Sparks and Ruby Barber, all of Wilkesboro, N.C.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, at Eternal Hills Mortuary. A funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, April 6, at Eternal Hills Mortuary. Burial will follow.

Alice Vasquez, 48
VISTA - Alice R. Vasquez, 48, died Saturday, April 1, 2000, in Vista.
Born June 19, 1951, in California, she lived in Vista for 28 years. She was a nurses assistant for Vista Knolls, retiring in 1998.
Mrs. Vasquez is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Henry and Luara Martinez of Oceanside and Louie Martinez of Vista; daughter Desrie Martinez of Vista; numerous brothers and sisters; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Monday, April 3, at North County Cremation Service Chapel in San Marcos.

Hilda Beccue, 94
ALTAMONT, Ill. - Hilda Louise Justine Beccue, 94, died Sunday, April 2, 2000, at the Lutheran Care Center in Altamont.
Born June 5, 1905, in the Bethlehem community near Altamont, she lived in Illinois. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid Society. She was a former member of the Altamont Senior Citizens and a Lutheran Care Center volunteer. She taught Sunday school for 30 years and a junior high Bible class for five years. She was an elementary teacher at Trinity Lutheran School in Tinley Park, Ill. for 10 years and taught at Immanuel Lutheran School in Matteson, Ill.
Mrs. Beccue was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Gustav Beccue, on April 7, 1993; and six brothers, Albert, Beccue, Louis Beccue, David Beccue, Carl Beccue, Louis Beccue and Hugo Beccue. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Lester and Marilynn Beccue of Escondido; grandchildren Phillip and Sophia Beccue of Westlake Village, Stephen Beccue of Oxnard, David and Kathleen Beccue of Encinitas and Wendy and Dom Barnes of Lubbock, Texas; great-grandchildren Timothy Beccue and Alyssa Beccue, Andrew Beccue and Matthew Beccue and Logan Barnes; and sister-in-law Charlotte Voelker of Altamont, Ill.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today, April 4, at the Kull Funeral Chapel in Altamont and for one hour before the funeral service on Wednesday. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altamont, with the Rev. Fred Muenchow officiating. Burial will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Beverley Jean Henry, 71
RANCHO BERNARDO - Beverley Jean Henry, 71, died Thursday, March 30, 2000.
Born Oct. 22, 1928, in Columbus, Ohio, she lived in Rancho Bernardo for 22 years. She was an executive secretary and apartment manager and a homemaker for 52 years. She was also a member of the Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian Church and a volunteer at the Rancho Bernardo Senior Services Center.
Mrs. Henry was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Young. She is survived by her husband, James Howard Henry of San Diego; parents Robert and Mary Garver Young; son James Henry; daughters Susan Henry, Ann Henry Hayden and Lynn Henry Ucker; sister Theo Young Cardiff; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 7, at Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian Church.

CARLSBAD - Helen E. Sebestyen, 77, died Saturday, April 1, 2000.
Born May 15, 1922, in Cleveland, she lived in Carlsbad. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pilgrim United Church of Christ in Carlsbad.
Mrs. Sebestyen is survived by her son, Joseph Sebestyen, and his fiance and stepson, Carolyn and Eric Beu; daughter and son-in-law Mary and Bob Holian; sister Jean Raymond; and grandchildren Sarah Holian and Rebecca Holian, both of Dallas.
A celebration of life will be held at 6 p.m. today, April 5, at Pilgrim United Church of Christ in Carlsbad. Burial will take place at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

RANCHO BERNARDO - Rick "Sir Richard" Berry, 63, died Saturday, April 1, 2000.
Born June 10, 1936, in Toronto, he lived in San Diego. He was a civil engineer.
Mr. Berry is survived by his wife, Elma Berry; daughter Michelle Berry; brother David Berry; and grandson Scott Borzych Weber.
A celebration of his life will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, at the family home.

Richard Lansche, 70
PALM SPRINGS - Richard K. Lansche, M.D., died Friday, March 31, 2000, of a heart attack at a Palm Springs hospital.
Born May 1929 in St. Louis, he lived in Rancho Santa Fe. He was a founding member and past president of the La Jolla Academy of Medicine and practiced ophthalmology in La Jolla beginning in 1961. He graduated from Northwestern University and Cornell Medical College. He completed his residency at the Mayo Clinic and served as a captain in the U.S. Army in Augsburg, Germany.
Dr. Lansche is survived by his wife, Tatiana Lansche; brother and sister-in-law Dr. W. Edward and Dee Lansche of St. Louis; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Vera and Bob Meyers of Santa Monica; nephews Jeffrey Mitchell and Rick and Francie Mitchell of Santa Monica; nieces Carolyn and Doug Pearson and Susan and Chris Griesedieck of St. Louis.
A service to celebrate the life of Dr. Lansche will beheld Thursday, April 6, at El Camino Mortuary in San Diego.

Mrs. Booth is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert W. Booth Jr. of Valley Center; son and daughter-in-law Robert W. III and Rita Booth of Orlando, Fla.; daughter Helen C. Bussey of Big Bear City; grandchildren Christy and Anthony Carrasco, Kathy Booth and Jennifer Booth; and great-grandchildren Chase and Drake Carrasco.

ESCONDIDO - Gerda "G.G." Broese van Groenou, 82, died Sunday, April 2, 2000, at her home.
Born May 5, 1917, in Jogjakarta, Indonesia, she lived in Escondido for seven years. She was a homemaker for 40 years and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Escondido, serving in the choir.
Mrs. Broese van Groenou is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Cindy Broese van Groenou of Eureka; daughters and sons-in-law Gina and Joe Strafaci of Escondido, Gloria and Jim Matthews of Greeley, Colo., and Germaine and Perro Coen of Hemet; sister Ria Lebis of Netherlands; grandchildren Matthew, Emily, Russell, Kelly Broese van Groenou, Jennifer Mogensen, Laura Anclam and Natalie Strafaci; and two great-grandchildren.

SOLANA BEACH - Evelyn V. "Lynn" Phinney, 83, died Sunday, April 2, 2000, in Del Mar.
Born Feb. 14, 1917, in Aberdeen, Wash., she lived in Solana Beach. She worked for Pacific Telephone for more than 30 years and was a member of Scripps Hospital Auxiliary and Sweet Adelines.
Ms. Phinney is survived by her son, Ron Risdon; daughters and son-in-law Dana Phinney and Christine and Joseph Phinney; and two grandchildren.

GAITHERSBURG Md. - Maxine E. Shuman, 79, died Saturday, April 1, 2000, in Maryland.
Born Dec. 23, 1920, in Marion, Kan., she lived in Oceanside for 40 years.
Mrs. Shuman was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Shuman, in 1997. She is survived by her son, Christopher Shuman of Horton, Mo.; daughter Patricia Lynn Hall of Denver; and brother Glenwood A. Dietz of Derwood, Md.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 6, at Oceanside Mortuary. A graveside service is scheduled for 11:45 a.m. Friday, April 7, at Riverside National Cemetery, with the Rev. Barry Jones officiating. Burial will follow.

Bettie Whitaker, 87
VISTA - Bettie Victoria Whitaker, 87, died Sunday, April 2, 2000, of heart failure, at Evergreen Chalet, a residential care home in Vista.
Born Jan. 22, 1913, in Grandby, Mo., she lived in Vista for 32 years. She was a cashier for Santa Glen Market for 15 years.
Ms. Whitaker was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Whitaker, on May 27, 1976; and her son and daughter-in-law, James and Heidi Mevius. She is survived by 21 nephews and nieces; and cousin Hazel Ogden of Primeville, Ore.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall on Avenida Del Oro in Oceanside.
A private cremation will take place with cremains scattered at sea.

DEL MAR - Mildred Rebecca Parks, 86, died Monday, April 3, 2000, in a senior care center in Del Mar.
Born May 18, 1913, in Monrovia, she lived in Riverside for many years and in the Solana Beach area for 16 years. She was the director of public health for Riverside County.
Mrs. Parks is survived by her son, Alan Parks of Los Angeles; daughter Patricia Coad of Solana Beach; sister Ruth Bailey of Monrovia; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
