Dorothy Ulrich, 82

RIVERSIDE - Dorothy M. Ulrich, 82, died Sunday, April 16, 2000, of a heart attack, at Riverside Community Hospital.

Born Oct. 1, 1917, in Pennsylvania, she previously lived in Escondido for 16 years. She was a secretary for Inspirational Films in San Bernardino and a member of Fundamental Baptist Church in Escondido.

Mrs. Ulrich was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Ulrich. She is survived by her sons, David B. Ulrich of Eugene, Ore., Donald K. Ulrich of North Wilkesboro, N.C., Kenneth A. Ulrich of Trabuco Canyon and Larry P. Ulrich of Charlotte, N.C.; daughter Lois R. Bush of Riverside; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, April 21, at Montecito Mortuary in San Bernardino. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m.. Burial will take place at Montecito Memorial Park.

The family suggests memorial donations to Fundamental Baptist Church, 1111 N. Ash St., Escondido, CA 92027.

Penelope Caridi, 61

RANCHO CUCAMONGA - Penelope Ann Caridi, 61, died Friday, April 14, 2000, of cancer, in Rancho Cucamonga.

Born May 22, 1938, in Los Angeles, she lived in Vista for 20 years. She was an aircraft insurance broker before retiring and a member of Bluebirds, PTA, DeMolay and Job's Daughters.

Mrs. Caridi is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Ian and Shiree Carnochan of Fontana; daughter and son-in-law Victoria and Jeff Page of Rancho Cucamonga; brother and sister-in-law Michael and Rae Parkhurst of Oceanside; sister Kathi Parkhurst of Seattle; and grandchildren Lacey and Kelsie Page and Travis and Tessa Carnochan.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 22, at Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, with Thomas Hughes officiating. A private cremation is planned with cremains to be scattered at sea.

Clarice Rahilly, 85

ENCINITAS - Clarice L. Rahilly, 85, died Monday, April 17, 2000, at Scripps Ocean View Convalescent Hospital in Encinitas.

Born May 17, 1914, in Iowa, she lived in Encinitas for 30 years. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Rahilly is survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Dorothy Rahilly of Mexico, Harlen and Hariett Rahilly of San Jacinto and Richard Rahilly of Minneapolis.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. today, April 20, at Encinitas Mortuary. A graveside service and burial will follow at 11 a.m. at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

Jimmie Brocato, 66

SAN CLEMENTE - Jimmie Joseph Brocato, 66, died Monday, April 17, 2000.

Born Jan. 5, 1934, in Lynn, Colo., he lived in San Clemente for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marine Corps, retiring as a master sergeant in 1983. He served combat in Korea and did three tours in Vietnam. He was a nuclear security officer at the San Onofre Nuclear Power Plant.

Mr. Brocato is survived by his wife of 32 years, Judy Brocato; mother Camella Brocato of Canyon City, Colo.; daughters Sheila Coons Emily and Chip Hatch and Vivian Brocato, all of San Clemente; grandchildren Tanya, Chelsea and Stephanie Coons and Hunter, Hailey and Isaac Hatch; and many nephews and nieces.

Viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 22, at Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Mission Viejo. A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m.

The family suggests memorial donations to Heritage Christian Fellowship Building Fund, PO Box 255, San Clemente, CA 92674.

George Kelso, 80

CARLSBAD - George Vail Kelso, 80, died Saturday, April 15, 2000, at his home.

Born Nov. 17, 1919, in Trenton, Mo., he lived in Carlsbad for 14 years. He was an electrical superintendent before retiring. He was also a custom home builder and a volunteer fireman. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II with B-17 Squadron and was a member of the Al Malaikah Shrine Club, Al Bahr Shrine Club, Friends of Carrillo Ranch, and the Cabrillo Yacht Club.

Mr. Kelso is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Kelso of Carlsbad; sons and daughters-in-law David and Sandy Kelso of Bonsall and Kevin and Anna Kelso of Carlsbad; sister Ruth Nelson of Huntington Beach; grandchildren Russell, Kristine, Kyle, Sheley and Christa; and stepgrandchildren Jarrod and Ryan.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 22, at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, with the Rev. Mark Johnson and family officiating.

The family suggests memorial donations to Shrine Hospital, 3160 Geneva St., Los Angeles, CA 90020, Attn: Donation Dept.

Roberta Campbell, 78

MURRIETA - Roberta Fern Campbell, 78, died Friday, April 14, 2000, of respiratory arrest, at her home.

Born June 9, 1921, in Prosper, Texas, she lived in Murrieta for four years. She was a bookkeeper and accountant and a homemaker for 20 years.

Mrs. Campbell is survived by her husband, Jack Campbell; sons Michael Campbell of Sumner, Wash., and Bruce Campbell of Las Vegas; daughter Yulene Church of Murrieta; sisters Alma Broome of Albuquerque, N.M., Annetta Bacca of Turlock and Betty Wright of Palm Desert; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held April 19 at Murrieta United Methodist Church. Burial will take place at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 20, at National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix.

The family suggests memorial donations to the American Lung Association, 2750 Fourth Ave., San Diego, CA 92103.

Delia Santiago, 86

TEMECULA - Delia Maria Santiago, 86, died Sunday, April 16, 2000, of coronary artery disease, at Granada Hill Community Hospital.

Born April 14, 1914, in San German, Puerto Rico, she lived in Temecula for five years. She was a seamstress for International Ladies Garment Workers Union.

Mrs. Santiago is survived by her daughters, Vivian Furgiuele of Temecula and Elaine Ricardo of Granada Hills; brother Charlie Jimenez of Florida; sisters Laura Segal of Murrieta and Esther Suarez and Petra Pagan, both of Florida; and grandchildren Marcus Ricardo of Granada Hills and Lauren Furgiuele.

Visitation was held April 19 at Valley Funeral Home in Murrieta. Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. today, April 20, at Riverside National Cemetery.

Shirley McPhail, 73

TEMECULA - Shirley A. McPhail, 73, died Monday, April 17, 2000, at her home.

Born Jan. 28, 1927, in Spokane, Wash., she lived in Temecula for four years. She was a graduate of the University of Washington and a homemaker for 45 years.

Mrs. McPhail is survived by her husband, William McPhail of Temecula; sons Dale A. Billings of Santa Clara and Donald Billings of Grand Prairie, Texas; daughter Debra Nobel of Morgan Hill; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, April 20, at Stout Family Funeral Home.

Keith Anderson, 71

MURRIETA - Keith LaMar Anderson, 71, died Monday, April 10, 2000, of cardiopulmonary arrest, at Rancho Springs Medical Center in Murrieta.

Born June 21, 1928, in Los Angeles, he lived in Murrieta for more than 11 years. He was a police officer for the city of West Covina and was awarded the Silver Beaver award by the Boy Scouts of America.

Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, Joy Anderson of Murrieta; daughters and sons-in-law Karen and Phil Tuttle of Yorba Linda, Glenda and Jeff Holt of Indio and Wendy and Randy Steed of Eagle, Idaho; brother Don Anderson of Alta Loma; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Monday, April 17, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Murrieta. Burial took place at Laurel Cemetery in Murrieta.

Emily Lopez, 90

OCEANSIDE - Emily M. Lopez, 90, died Thursday, April 13, 2000.

Born March 2, 1910, in Buffalo, N.Y., she lived in Oceanside. She graduated from Case Western Reserve in Cleveland with a degree in library science. She worked for the Buffalo Public Library, the New York Public Library, the Los Angeles Public Library and retired from the base library on Camp Pendleton in 1972. She was a volunteer for Tri-City Hospital Auxiliary for many years.

Mrs. Lopez was preceded in death by her brothers, Dr. Robert H. Mehnert and the Rev. Frank B. Mehnert; and sister Mary M. Muller. She is survived by her husband, Lester D. Lopez; sisters-in-law Betty Mehnert and Elsie Mehnert; and seven nephews and nieces.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, at the First Presbyterian Church of Oceanside.

The family suggests memorial donations to Elizabeth Hospice, 150 Crest, Escondido, CA 92025.

Jeannette Wampler, 21

ENCINITAS - Jeannette Elizabeth Wampler, 21, died Monday, April 17, 2000, of cancer.

Born Dec. 7, 1978, in San Diego, she attended San Diegueno Junior High and San Dieguito High School.

Jeannette is survived by her mother, Marie Wampler of Encinitas; father Zale Wampler of Antelope; brother Bryan Wampler of Mira Mesa; and sister Annette Wampler of Mira Mesa.

Visitation will be held at noon Thursday, April 20, at North Coast Calvary Chapel in Carlsbad. A funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, April 20. Burial will follow.

The family suggests memorial donations to Children's Hospital, 3020 Children's Way, San Diego, CA 92120; or to Make A Wish Foundation, 5160 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego, CA 92121.

Jack Cramer, 85
ESCONDIDO - Jack B. Cramer, 85, died Thursday, April 13, 2000, in an auto accident in Escondido.

Born March 14, 1915, in Bisbee, Ariz., he lived in Escondido for 20 years. He was a project planner for Rockwell International before retiring in 1980. He was a corporal with the 318th Troop Carrier Squadron in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and a member of Emmanuel Faith Community Church.

Mr. Cramer is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen J. Cramer of Escondido; son and daughter-in-law Michael and Patricia Cramer of Irvine; daughters and sons-in-law Susan and Tom Turnbull of Pauma Valley and Kathleen and Bruce Kubert of Drain, Ore.; brothers Roy Cramer of Alta and Richard Cramer of Ventura; six grandchildren; and nephew David Cramer of Escondido.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, at Emmanuel Faith Community Church in Escondido, with the Rev. James Learned officiating. a private family inurnment will take place at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in Point Loma.

Bessie Velazquez, 59

FALLBROOK - Bessie Mae Velazquez, 59, died Wednesday, March 8, 2000, in a car accident on Sandia Creek Road in Temecula.

Born Nov. 6, 1946, in Little Rock, Ark., she lived in Fallbrook for 10 years. She was a homemaker for 46 years.

Mrs. Velazquez is survived by her husband, Jim Velazquez of Fallbrook; mother Edith Gates of Casper, Wyo.; sons Vance Velazquez of Riverside and Jimmy Velazquez of Moreno Valley; daughter Virginia Velazquez of Riverside; sisters Connie Haynes of Sturgis, S.D., and Marlene Jones of Casper; and 10 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today, April 21, at Stout Family Funeral Home. A private cremation and inurnment are planned.

Constance DeVries, 77

PORTLAND, Ore. - Constance "Connie" Oliver DeVries, 77, died Tuesday, April 18, 2000, of cancer.

Born Dec. 29, 1922, in Richmond, Va., she previously lived in Encinitas. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. DeVries is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Lydia and A.J. Westfall, Cherry and Norman Carl, Katie and Ron Imig, Paula and Ted Burrows and Jamey and Lynn Walker; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and stepchildren and stepgrandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 27, at Montavilla Baptist Church in Portland, (503) 255-0141, and again at 10:15 a.m. Sunday, April 30, at Pacific View Baptist Church in Encinitas. Her cremains will be interred at a private ceremony in El Dorado, Ark.

The family suggests memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 12405 Rancho Bernardo Road, Suite 100, San Diego, CA 92128.
