ESCONDIDO - Carolyn Jean Pearcy, 59, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at her home.
Born Sept. 3, 1941, in Illinois, she lived in Escondido for 33 years. She worked for Magnetic Arts and H.P. before retiring in 1999. She was a member of Gateway Community Church in Escondido.
Mrs. Pearcy was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Bell, in 1992; and her father, Wilton Dee Morrison, in 1964. She is survived by her husband of six years, Thomas L. Pearcy of Escondido; mother Clara Mabee of Pekin, Ill.; son Scott Bell and fiance Clare Thomas of Escondido; stepsons and daughter-in-law Donald Pearcy of Las Vegas, Scott and Anne Pearcy of St. Paul, Minn., and Eric Pearcy of Escondido; daughters and sons-in-law Cheri and Roland Allen of Vista and Laurie and Toby Brown of Escondido; stepdaughter and son-in-law Stacey and Andy Dawson of Poway; brothers and sisters-in-law Bob and Ellen Morrison and Allen and Beth Morrison, all of Pekin, and James Morrison of Chicago; sister and brother-in-law Marge and Barrie Wilson of Aurora, Ill.; grandchildren Brooke Brown, Kristoffer Brown, Kylie Brown, Amanda Allen, Jenna Judziewicz, Noah Dawson and Cali and Baby Pearcy.

VISTA - Donald Robert Hering, 90, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, at his home.
Born July 5, 1910, in Oakland, he lived in Vista for 24 years. He was an oil well surveyor for Sun Oil Co. for 35 years.
Mr. Hering is survived by his wife, Catherine Hering of Escondido; brother Elvad Hering of Fairfield; sister Letty Johnson of Canyon Lake; and nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

RAMONA - Julia M. Toth, 77, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, at a local hospital.
Born Jan. 29, 1923, in Tampa, Fla., she lived in Ramona for 26 years. She was a shipping clerk typist at North Island Naval Air Station for 28 years before retiring in 1986. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, serving in the Altar & Rosary Society and the Escondido Deanery. She was a 40-year member of the Young Ladies Institute of Chula Vista, the Ramona Woman's Club and the People Helping People cancer support group.
Mrs. Toth was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Paul Toth. She is survived by her son, Mike Toth of Ramona; daughters Terry Ann Pajak of Harvey, La., Stephanie Herman of Lexington, Ky., and Patricia Preuss of Spring Valley; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, with the Rev. Mike Sinor officiating. A private inurnment will take place at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in Point Loma, where she will be buried with her husband.

FALLBROOK - Kenneth Frederick Dilley, 82, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, in Fallbrook.
Born Aug. 10, 1918, in England, he lived in Fallbrook for 20 years. He was a machinist for Harvey Aluminum for 20 years and served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II.
Mr. Dilley is survived by his wife, Hertha M. Dilley of Fallbrook; brother Larry Dilley of Michigan; and sister Grace Hauerty of Florida.
No service will be held at the request of the deceased. A private cremation is planned, and burial will take place at a date to be determined at Fallbrook Masonic Cemetery.

Born Nov. 22, 1915, in Iowa, she lived in Rancho Bernardo. She was a homemaker and served as a WAVE for 2 1/2 years during World War II. She was a 36-year member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and a charter member of Chapter U.V. in Poway.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband of 58 years, Wallace R. Jones of Rancho Bernardo; daughters Janet Stapp, Judy Vernon and Sue Breen; brother Willis Carr of Marlow, Okla.; sisters Dorothy Klink of Chicago and Doris Goldstein of San Diego; and grandchildren Ryan Vernon, Randy Vernon, Paris Stapp, Bryan Breen and Mellisa Breen.

CARLSBAD - Leo Hendricks II, 82, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, of lung cancer, at his home.
Born September 24, 1919, in Kentucky, he lived in Carlsbad for the last 40 years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Pearl Harbor, Saipan, Tinian, Iwo Jima, Guadalcanal and Korea, retiring as a major in 1961 after 25 years. He was the owner/operator of several Chevron station in the Oceanside area.
Major Hendricks is survived by his wife, Gwendoline "Peg" Hendricks; sons and daughters-in-law Chris and Sylvia Hendricks of Lake Elsinore and Craig and Vicki Hendricks of Carlsbad; daughter and son-in-law Anne and Dick Jewell of Seattle; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

ESCONDIDO - G. Kelly Ragsdale, 53, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, in Escondido.
Born Jan. 3, 1947, in Healdsburg, he lived in Escondido for 51 years. He was a Native American Indian from the Chemehuevi tribe and owned and operated Ragsdale's Nelson Way Garage for 15 years and served in the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. Ragsdale was preceded in death by his mother and father; sister Mary Rosaleen Welfelt; and niece Rachel Ragsdale. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Rodie Ragsdale of Escondido; brother and sisters-in-law Fred and Jennifer Ragsdale of Corralas, N.M., Patsy Sexton of Escondido and Jojo Royer of Palm Desert; brothers-in-law Ed "Skippy" Maxcy of Stockton, Poncho Maxcy of Mesa Grande, Jack Beresford of La Jolla Indian Reservation and X. Born March 30, 1918, in Tucson, Ariz., she lived in Oceanside for 81 years. She worked for Triplettes Co. before retiring in 1970. She was a member of Mission San Luis Rey Catholic Church.
Mrs. Foussat was preceded in death by her daughter, Jeannie Anaya, in 1991. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Louis Foussat of Oceanside; son and daughter-in-law Robert and Vickie Foussat of South Carolina; brother Ernist Estarda of Cardiff by the Sea; sister Gertrude Estarda of Oceanside; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at Eternal Hills Mortuary. A funeral service is scheduled for noon Friday, Dec. 8, at the mortuary. Interment

Born May 7, 1919, in Scottsbluff, Neb., she lived in Anaheim. She was a homemaker and a member of Emerald Court Christian Fellowship.
Mrs. Vallely was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Vallely, on Aug. 13, 1993.
