ESCONDIDO - Carolyn Jean Pearcy, 59, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at her home.
Born Sept. 3, 1941, in Illinois, she lived in Escondido for 33 years. She worked for Magnetic Arts and H.P. before retiring in 1999. She was a member of Gateway Community Church in Escondido.
Mrs. Pearcy was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Bell, in 1992; and her father, Wilton Dee Morrison, in 1964. She is survived by her husband of six years, Thomas L. Pearcy of Escondido; mother Clara Mabee of Pekin, Ill.; son Scott Bell and fiance Clare Thomas of Escondido; stepsons and daughter-in-law Donald Pearcy of Las Vegas, Scott and Anne Pearcy of St. Paul, Minn., and Eric Pearcy of Escondido; daughters and sons-in-law Cheri and Roland Allen of Vista and Laurie and Toby Brown of Escondido; stepdaughter and son-in-law Stacey and Andy Dawson of Poway; brothers and sisters-in-law Bob and Ellen Morrison and Allen and Beth Morrison, all of Pekin, and James Morrison of Chicago; sister and brother-in-law Marge and Barrie Wilson of Aurora, Ill.; grandchildren Brooke Brown, Kristoffer Brown, Kylie Brown, Amanda Allen, Jenna Judziewicz, Noah Dawson and Cali and Baby Pearcy.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. today, Dec. 7, at Gateway Community Church in Escondido, with the Rev. Craig Harrison officiating. A private family interment will take place at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Irene Stomski, 88
CARDIFF - Irene Stomski, 88, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, of a heart attack, at Scripps Hospital.
Born Oct. 18, 1912, she lived in Cardiff for eight years. She had lived in Temecula and Fallbrook. She was a teacher at the Pala Mission School for many years.
Mrs. Stomski was preceded in death by her husband, Henry J. Stomski. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Groves of Cardiff; son Peter Stomski of Cardiff; and granddaughter Olivia Stomski of Cardiff.
Gabriele Bianchi, 62
OCEANSIDE - Gabriele Antonio Bianchi, 62, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000, in Oceanside.
Born March 5, 1938, in Amaseno, Italy, he lived in Oceanside for 15 years. He was the owner/operator of Village Hailines in Carlsbad.
Mr. Bianchi is survived by his wife of 37 years, Joann Bianchi of Oceanside; daughters Julie Butts, Angela Buton, Marisa Bloom and Tina Roersma, all of Oceanside; brother Americo Bianchi of Laguna Beach; sisters Lena Pistezi and Luigina Giannetta, both of Chicago Heights, Ill.; and six grandchildren.
Viewing will take place at noon Saturday, Dec. 9, at Old Mission San Luis Rey Church. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m., following viewing, with the Rev. Abram Chui officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Mission San Luis Rey Cemetery.

Norma Beversluis, 68
SAN MARCOS - Norma T. "Terry" Beversluis, 68, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000.
Born May 27, 1932, in West New York, N.J., she lived in San Marcos for 12 years. She was an insurance customer service representative for 50 years.
Mrs. Beversluis was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Beversluis, in 1978. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Adrian Beversluis; sons Steve Beversluis, Bob Beversluis, Tom Beversluis and Gary Beversluis; daughters Victoria Marcrander and Suzanne Overton; brother Arthur Lammens; 17 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 8, at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Martina Santana, 94
CARLSBAD - Martina R. Santana, 94, died Monday, Dec. 4, 2000, at Scripps Oceanview Convalescent Hospital.
Born Nov. 12, 1906, in Mexico, she lived in Carlsbad for 22 years.
Mrs. Santana is survived by her daughters, Marina Diaz, Petra Santana, Cecilia Valdivia, Gregoria Guerra and Lucia Santana, all of San Diego; brother Inocencio Ruiz of Mexico; 19 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation and viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., with a rosary recited from 7 to 8 p.m., Monday, Dec. 11, at Eternal Hills Mortuary.
A Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Steve McCall officiating.
Burial will follow.
Carol Thompson, 60
ESCONDIDO - Carol Ann Stephens Thompson, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000.
Born July 8, 1940, in Dodge City, Kan., she lived in Escondido since 1971.
She was commissioner of fine arts for the city of Escondido in the early 1980s and was founding president of the Felicita Foundation, which was responsible for the creation of the Mathes Center in Escondido. She was a trainer for the Boy Scouts of America and a homemaker, artist and college professor.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by her son, Rod Stephens of Boulder, Colo.; son Jon Stephens of South Lake Tahoe; daughters Wendy Fredenburg of Valley Center and Becky Stephens of Escondido; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at Emmanuel Faith Community Church, Building 6.

Robert Carley, 67
RAMONA - Robert E. "Bob" Carley, 67, died Thursday, Dec. 7, at his home.
Born Jan. 16, 1933, in Chicago, he lived in Ramona for five years. He worked for San Diego Gas & Electric for more than 40 years and was an assistant business agent for IBEW Local 469 for several years. He retired in 1995.
Mr. Carley is survived by his wife, Sharon Carley of Ramona; daughters Christine Kloberdanz of San Diego, Karen Wallace of Sacramento and Kathy Kehoe of Poway; and grandchildren Sarah, Meghan and Colin Wallace, Matt and Kari Kloberdanz and Billy Kehoe.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, at Bonham Bros. & Lee Ramona Chapel, with a committal service and burial following at noon at El Camino Memorial Park in Sorrento Valley.

CARLSBAD - Trafford M. Morong, 89, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at his home.
Born Nov. 1, 1911, in Danvers, Mass., he lived in Carlsbad for 20 years. He was an electrical engineer for Salt River Project in Arizona before retiring and was a member of the Knights of Malta, St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Carlsbad Evening Rotary and former chairman for Atomic Energy Commission for the state of Arizona.
Mr. Morong is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marye Morong of Carlsbad; and son Daniel Morong of Carlsbad.
Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. A funeral service will follow at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Mullen officiating. Burial will follow at Mission San Luis Rey Cemetery.

Edna Burroughs, 84
ESCONDIDO - Edna Burroughs, 84, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at Villa Rancho Bernardo.
Born Sept. 5, 1916, in Indianapolis, Ind., she lived in Escondido for two years. She owned Burroughs Insurance Agency before retiring in 1980.
Mrs. Burroughs was preceded in death by her husband, Elden E. Burroughs, in 1981; and her son, Larry Burroughs Sr., in 1998. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Leanne and John Page Jr. of Escondido; daughter-in-law Bonnie Burroughs of Mesa, Ariz.; brothers George Decker of Indianapolis, Howard Decker of Lakeland, Fla., and Ben Decker of Middletown, Ohio; sister Donna Wade of Wakefield, Mich.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation and viewing will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, at Mountain View Memorial Gardens Chapel in Mesa, Ariz. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., with Dr. Earl Riely officiating. Emtombment will follow.

ESCONDIDO - Eleanor M. Temprendola, 89, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, in La Jolla.
Born Sept. 14, 1911, in Milford, Mass., she lived in Escondido for 31 years. She was a policewoman for the Natick, Mass., Police Department for 10 years.
Mrs. Temprendola was preceded in death by her husband, Sergio Temprendola, in 1983. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Robert and Rosemary Temprendola of Escondido; brother Julius Bisiccia of Milford; grandchildren Debie Steinauer of Hansen, Idaho, Kim Matlock of Murrieta, David Temprendola of San Marcos and Paul Temprendola of San Diego; and eight great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, at the Church of St. Timothy in Escondido, with the Rev. James E. Rafferty officiating. A private family interment will take place at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Jack Davis, 68
CARLSBAD - Jack Wolfe Davis, 68, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2000, at a local hospital.
Born Feb. 6,m 1932, in Nice, France, he lived in Carlsbad for 20 years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean and Vietnam wars, receiving the Bronze Star and Purple Heart, and retiring as lieutenant colonel.
Mr. Davis is survived by his son, David Davis of San Diego; and grandchildren Christen and Collin Davis.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, with military honors. Inurnment will follow.

OCEANSIDE - Elda Ann Ascani, 67, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, in Oceanside.
Born July 2, 1933, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., she lived in Oceanside for 10 years. She was a member of the New Venture Church.
Mrs. Ascani was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Ascani, in 1996. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Shelia Ascani of Georgia, Raymond Ascani of Santa Clarita and Larry Ascani of Garden Grove; daughter Diane Ascani of Anaheim; and five grandchildren.

LAKE ELSINORE VALLEY - Gwen Barnes, 84, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2000, in Buffalo, Mo.
Born Dec. 12, 1915, in Hinckley, Utah, she lived in Lake Elsinore Valley for more than 45 years. She was a nurse for Dr. Tracy Comstock in Lake Elsinore for more than 25 years before retiring in 1975. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Eastern Star, Navy Wives Club and the Elsinore Boat & Ski Club.
Mrs. Barnes is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Yobala and Norman Pullen of Buffalo, Mo., and Pamela and John Yates of Wildomar; grandchildren Sherry Bird of Colorado, Cary King of San Juan Capistrano, Keith King, Jared Townsend and Helena and Colin Yates, all of Wildomar; and great-grandchildren Rick, Marissa, Kristin, Rustin, Ciena, Brett and Zackary.
A private inurnment will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, at Wildomar Cemetery, with the Revs. David Crismon and Terry Stark officiating.

Born Sept. 14, 1929, in Gary, Ind., she lived in Oceanside. She was an administrative secretary for United Way for five years and for Jewish Service Center for five years before retiring in 1994. She enjoyed traveling.
Mrs. White is survived by her husband, Russell White of Oceanside; sons and daughters-in-law Scott and Paulie Reynolds of Orville, Douglas and Cheryl White of San Fernando Valley and William and Loretta White of Upland; daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Kurt McFadden of Minden, Nev.; sisters and brothers-in-law Virgene and Ed Nuckols of Camarillo and Marilyn and Dick Leffler of Mesa; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
