Sarah Cattaneo, 80, a 44-year resident of Menlo Park, died
Nov. 9, 1994 at Sharon Heights Convalescent Hospital after a short illness. Born in Spain, she was a member of St. Raymond's Catholic Church in Menlo Park. She is survived by her husband, Charles Cattaneo of Menlo Park; two sons, Andrew C. Cattaneo and Robert A. Cattaneo; and three grandchildren.

Timothy M. Dallam, 46, a former resident of Palo Alto, died
suddenly Nov. 3, 1994 in Pleasanton after a short illness. A graduate of San Jose State University, he was a member of Sigma Alpha Mu Fraternity, Institute of Food Technologists, the American Association of Candy Technology and California Dairy Industry Association. He is survived by his parents; two daughters, Michele Dallam and Nicole Dallam, both of Palo Alto; a brother; and a sister. Betty Jane Noeller
Betty Jane Noeller, 68, a resident of Palo Alto for 43 years, died
Oct. 28, 1994 at Stanford Hospital. Born in Turlock, Calif., she moved to Palo Alto in 1951. She was active for many years in local schools and worked for 12 years as parish secretary at St. Mark's Episcopal Church. She was also a bookkeeper for Bayshore Employment Service. She retired after working for 10 years as secretary at the Phillips Brooks School in Menlo Park. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Willford Noeller of Palo Alto; two daughters, Linda Dillon of Palo Alto and Janet Paulsen; and five granddaughters.
Otis 'Bud' Renalds
Otis "Bud" Renalds, 70, a 28-year resident of Palo Alto, died
April 18, 1994. A native of New Jersey, he served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, flying more than 52 combat missions. He was hired by Lockheed Aircraft in Burbank and later became a research scientist with the Missiles and Space Program. His inventions can be found on all jet planes that fly today. He was also an adviser to graduate students at Stanford on a weather monitoring program. He was a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics, Astronautics and Aerospace; the Instrument Society of America; the American Astronautical Society; and various civic groups. He is survived by his wife of 48 years; five daughters, including Amy Renalds of Palo Alto; three sons; a sister; and 14 grandchildren. Doris Dow Sloan
Doris Dow Sloan, 95, a 48-year resident of Palo Alto, Menlo Park and Mountain View, died
March 13, 1994. A native of Lake County, Calif., she is survived by a sister; a son, Charles Sloan Jr. of Palo Alto; a daughter; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. April 30 at Menlo Park Presbyterian Church, 950 Santa Cruz Ave.

Stefanie Sara Sucher, 76, a former resident of Palo Alto and Menlo Park, died
April 19, 1994 in Hayward. A native of Germany, she immigrated to the United States in 1939. She was a past president of the Eden Chapter of Hadassah as well as a life member. She was also a past president of the Alameda County Jewish Federation. She is survived by a sister; two sons, including Stan Sucher of Palo Alto; three daughters; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Grace Lee Tonkin
Grace Lee Tonkin, 81, a 49-year resident of Palo Alto and Los Altos, died
April 17, 1994. A third-generation Californian, she was born
in Oakland and reared in Richmond and El Segundo. She was a founding member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Palo Alto, where she belonged to the Altar Guild and was active in fund-raising activities and a bible study class. She was a member of the Sierra Club and a leader of the Menlo-Atherton AAUW hiking section. She graduated from UCLA, taught English briefly and was a member of the "Bookies" reading club in Palo Alto. She loved travel and visited nearly 25 countries on four different continents. She is survived by her husband, Charles J. Tonkin of Palo Alto; two sons; a daughter; and six grandchildren. A memorial service will be held May 7 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 600 Colorado Ave., Palo Alto. Contributions may be made to St. Mark's.

Mabel A. Wilson, 97, a 44-year resident of Palo Alto, died
April 14, 1994 at Lytton Gardens. Born in Iowa, she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Methodist Church. She worked at Stanford and for the Chicago Great Western Railroad in Iowa. She is survived by a son, Fred Clark of Palo Alto; two daughters; two stepdaughters; a stepson; 12 grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Winifred Barton Nichols Carr, 89, a former resident of Palo Alto and Atherton, died
April 4, 1994 in Carmel Valley. A graduate of Stanford University, she was active in the Sigma Kappa Sorority, Children's Health Council and Freedom's Foundation at Valley Forge. She is survived by a brother; a sister; seven children, including Barbara Acevedo of Menlo Park and Dorothy Parker of Palo Alto; 17 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Joanne O. Freeman, 67, a native of Palo Alto, died
April 15, 1994 in Los Altos Hills. She is survived by four sons, including Verne Freeman Jr. of Palo Alto and Steven Freeman of Los Altos Hills; three daughters, including Suzanne McKenna of Menlo Park; a sister; and six grandchildren, including Melanie Rose Freeman and Camille Joy Freeman of Palo Alto, and Kelly McKenna and Holly McKenna of Menlo Park.

Michael Gordon Head, 52, a former Palo Alto resident, died
April 20, 1994 of cancer. A 1960 graduate of Palo Alto High School, He served as a lieutenant of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
