Oct. 23, 1994.
Born in San Francisco, he graduated from the University of California, Berkeley.
He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
He was a retired insurance agent of West Coast Life Insurance Company and the past president of the Kiwanis Club in Menlo Park.
He is survived by his wife, Blossom Amsbaug Belvel; two sons; a daughter; and five grandchildren.

Doris Margaret Bailey
Doris Margaret Bailey, 64, a resident of Palo Alto, died
Nov. 1, 1994.
She worked in banking for many years, retiring from Wells Fargo in 1988.
She was a former leader of the Campfire Girls of Palo Alto and a member of the Balboa Alumni Association.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Bailey of Palo Alto; four children, including Lisa Bailey of Palo Alto; one sister; one brother; and nine grandchildren. Donations may be made to Pets in Need, 873 5th Ave., Redwood City, CA 94063.
Thomas H. Carmody, Jr.
Thomas H. Carmondy, Jr., 79, a resident of Menlo Park, died
Oct. 23, 1994.
Born in Hartford, Conn., he graduated from Northwestern University.
He became the news editor for "Electric Light and Power" magazine in 1936.
In 1941 he fought in World War II, and later worked in advertising sales for McGraw-Hill Publishing Company.
He rose through the ranks, becoming vice president of the western regions before retiring in 1981.
He was also a member of the Peninsula Marketing Association, the California Wheelchair Association, the World Trade Club and the University Club in San Francisco.
He also served on the boards of the California League for the Handicapped and the Sensory Aids Foundation.
He is survived by two daughters, including Kathleen Williams of Menlo Park; one son; one brother; and seven grandchildren.

Douglas Fredrick Jefferson
Douglas Fredrick Jefferson, 24, a resident of Palo Alto, died
Oct. 25, 1994.
Born in Riverside, he is survived by his mother, Angel Brown of Palo Alto, his father, a brother, three grandparents, including Arline and Fred Brown of Palo Alto and Mattie Jefferson of Menlo Park.
A service is planned for Nov. 7 at 11 a.m., at Unity Church, 3391 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto.
Margaret N. Marks
Margaret N. Marks, 77, a 16-year resident of Menlo Park, died
Oct. 30, 1994 of cancer.
A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, she was an active in Congregation Emanu-El in San Francisco.
She also volunteered at the Well Baby Clinic, Shriners Hospital and as a board member of Mount Zion Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Raymond A. Marks, three children and six grandchildren.

Austin W. Mosher
Austin W. Mosher, 99, who lived in Menlo Park for 30 years, died
Oct. 12, 1994, after a long illness.
A World War I veteran, he was a self employed singing teacher in San Francisco and Menlo Park for more than 75 years, retiring in 1989.
He was also a member of the Bohemian Club in San Francisco, the Redwood City Kiwanis Club, the Occidential-California Lodge #1 and the First Congregational Church of Redwood City.
He is survived by two daughters, a sister, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service is planned for Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Redwood City, 2323 Euclid St.
Arthur B. Poole
Arthur B. Poole, 99, a longtime resident of Palo Alto, died
Oct. 30, 1994.
Born in St. Paul Minnesota, he graduated from the University of Minnesota and Harvard Business School and served in the United States Navy from 1917 to 1920. Prior to moving to San Francisco in 1938, he was a financial consultant for Joseph P. Kennedy, in connection with studies made by Kennedy of Paramount Pictures Inc. and American Newspapers.
After coming to San Francisco, he was the Chief Financial Officer for Dollar Steamship Lines, now known as American President, Lines from 1938 to 1961.
From 1961 to 1972 he was the Director and Consultant to the Chairman of Natomas Company.
He also served as a trustee of Grace Cathedral in San Francisco for 12 years until 1991, and was a director of the Episcopal Homes Foundation.
He was a member of the Bohemian Club.
He is survived by his wife Helen Poole of Palo Alto; two sons, including Warren Poole of the Portola Valley; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Morris Rabinowitch
Morris Rabinowitch, 76, a resident of Palo Alto, died
Nov. 2, 1994.
He is survived by three daughters; and two grandchildren.
