Local resident Eva Del Carmen Bustamante Rivera Pereyra died
Aug. 23 in Mountain View.
The 94-year-old Pereyra, a native of Chile, is survived by children Luz, Eva and Jorge, sisters Juanita and Elianita, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services were held Aug. 27 at the Mountain View Chapel of Spangler Mortuaries.

Derrill Clarence Angst
Derrill Clarence Angst died
on Sept. 2 in Los Altos. He was 95.
A long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mountain View and husband of the late Stella Angst, he was an avid gardener.
He is survived by his children, Phillip D. Angst of Gardnerville, Nev., David A. Angst of Sunnyvale, and Suzanne Angst Gladstone of Los Altos; four grandchildren and one-great grandson.
A visitation was held Sept. 5. He was interred in Eureka where private graveside services were held at Sunset Memorial Park.

Dale E. Strotman
Dale E. Strotman died
Aug. 28 in his Mountain View home. He was 74.
With a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa, he was an innovative teacher, coach, principal and superintendent in several Iowa schools. Strotman and his family moved from Iowa to Los Altos, where they resided for 19 years.
Friends and family remember him as a vibrant man with a big sense of humor and a bigger heart.
Strotman is survived by his wife of 53 years Doreta; his daughter Sheryl, son-in-law Tim, and their children, Rory and Ryan Brown of Mountain View; his son Scot, daughter-in-law Ingrid, and their children Hannah and Drew Strotman of Sunnyvale; his son Skip, daughter-in-law Dena, and their son Jake Strotman of Sparks, Nev.
Friends of the family are invited to a celebration of Strotman's life to be held on Oct. 3 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the home of Sheryl and Tim Brown at 1200 Levin Avenue, Mountain View.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Community Services Agency, 204 Steirlin Road, Mountain View, CA 94043 or Pathways Hospice Foundation, 201 San Antonio Circle, Suite 104, Mountain View, CA 94040.

Helen Eileen Harrington
Helen Eileen Harrington passed away on Sept. 18 in Mountain View. She was 83.
A 1939 graduate of Immaculate Conception Academy, she edited the school newspaper and won numerous journalism awards.
She later attended the San Francisco College for Women and was employed by the U.S. Army during World War II.
Family and friends remembered her for her elegance, grace, integrity and sense of humor. Harrington is predeceased by her husband Philip James Harrington and is survived by her children, Elaine Atkinson and her husband Rhett of Mountain View, Matt Harrington and his wife Lisa of Alamo, Lenore Olson and her husband Arthur of Clarkston, Mich., and Michael Harrington and his wife Linda of Berkeley.
She is also survived by 13 grandchildren.
A vigil is scheduled to be held at 7 p.m. on Sept. 23 at the Los Altos Chapel of Spangler Mortuaries, 399 South San Antonio Road, Los Altos. There will be a mass for Harrington at 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 24 at St. Simon's Catholic Church, 1960 Grand Road, Los Altos.
Interment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 1500 Mission Road, Colma.

Mountain View resident Atsuko Sasaki died
Oct. 19 at the age of 54.
A native of Japan, Sasaki is survived by her husband Shoji Nagayama of Mountain View; her children Leo Warrens, Yoko Elaine Nagayama, Amanda Nagayama, Namiko Nagayama; and her sisters Zenichi Sasaki and Akiko Sasaki.
Services were held Oct. 25 at the Chapel of Alta Mesa Memorial Park in Palo Alto.

Alan Russell Kenison
Alan Russell Kenison passed away on Oct. 6 at the age of 85.
A Los Altos resident since the 1960s, he worked in the aerospace industry before founding Nienhuis Montessori in Mountain View.
He is survived by his wife Vera of Los Altos; his daughter, Karen Kenison of Cupertino; his son and daughter-in-law, Monte and Debbie of Mountain View; his son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Gale of Los Altos; his grandson Sean of Livermore; and his twin granddaughters, Christine Kenison of San Jose and Sarah Kenison of Santa Cruz.

Mountain View resident Eva J. Gray died
on Nov. 2 at the age of 91.
She was the wife of the late Terry E. Gray, mother of the late George Gray and sister of the late Doris Taylor.
She is survived by her children Jim Gray of San Jose, Caryl Wright of Vancouver, Wash., Terry K. Gray of Seattle, Don Gray of Mountain View; her siblings George Stevens of Kansas and Margaret Baker of Hayward; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Catherine Pauline Crowl
Mountain View resident, Dr. Catherine Pauline Crowl, died
on Oct. 27 at the age of 56.
Crowl was a marriage and family therapist in Palo Alto and a former chemist.
She is survived by her mother Mary Ellen Crowl of Annapolis, Md.; her sisters Ellen Crowl Peck of Forth Worth, Texas and Margaret Crowl of Somerset, N.J.; her niece, nephew, great-nephew and great-nieces.
A memorial service will be held at the Unity Palo Alto Community Church, 3391 Middlefield Road in Palo Alto on Nov. 19, at 11 a.m.

Beatrice Surbridge
Los Altos resident Beatrice Surbridge, 80, passed away on Nov. 13 at El Camino Hospital.
Surbridge was employed at Bank of America in Mountain View for more than 25 years.
She is survived by her sons John and Tom; her daughters Joanne and Patricia; her grandchildren Allison and John Patrick Surbridge, Anne, Molly and Maegan Surbridge, Scott and Renee LaFleur, and Jacob Toves.

Edith Coon Sales
Mountain View resident, Edith Coon Sales, died
on Dec. 1 at the age of 84. She is survived by son Gary Coon of Los Angeles, daughter Diann McCall of Eureka, and sister Inus Davis of Eureka.
She is the grandmother of three and great grandmother of four.
A visitation took place last Friday at the Mountain View Chapel of Spangler Mortuaries.

James Rice Webster
James Rice Webster, a longtime Mountain View resident and World War II veteran, died
on Christmas Day. He was 88.
A graduate of Austin College in Texas and the University of Texas, Webster practiced law with his grandfather at Maxey Law Firm in Sherman, Texas.
He later became a trial examiner with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) in Ft. Worth, Texas.
And he was an administrative law judge for the NLRB in California from 1948 to 1969.
During World War II, Webster served as a lieutenant in the Army Intelligence Service and retired as a lieutenant colonel in 1976. After retiring, Webster volunteered his legal expertise to discharged veterans through the American Red Cross.
He was a member of the Gem and Mineral Society, Bonsai Society, the Carvers Club and the Golfers Hole-In-One Club.
He is preceded in death by his son Paul.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Ellen; daughter Linda Williams; sister Blanche Coker of Pittsburg, Texas; and grandsons Sean and Casey Williams.
A funeral service has been held.
