Services are Sunday for Masao Yoshida, who died Wednesday at his Watsonville home. He was 78.
Mr. Yoshida was born in Guadalupe and has lived in Watsonville since 1949. He was a commercial strawberry and flower grower in Watsonville for 52 years.
He was a member of the Watsonville Buddhist Temple and the Watsonville/Santa Cruz Japanese American Citizen League. During World War II he was interned at Fresno Assembly Center, Jerome, Ark., and Tule Lake.
He is survived by his wife, Mae Yoshida of Watsonville; son Perry Yoshida of Watsonville; daughters Pamela Yoshida-Koo and Lori Yoshida, both of San Jose; brothers Charles Yoshida of La Selva Beach, Thomas Yoshida of Henderson, Nev., Edward Yoshida of Watsonville, Byron Yoshida of Gardena and Paul Yoshida of San Jose; sisters Inez Hashimoto of Auburn, Rose Hisatomi of Cupertino, Margaret Takahashi of San Fernando, Sandra Suekawa of San Jose, Marjorie Fiske of Brentwood and Betsy Kochiyama of Sunnyvale; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Watsonville Buddhist Temple. He will be buried at 10 a.m. Monday at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park. Calling hours are 1-5 p.m. today at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel, 222 E. Lake Ave., Watsonville.

Victor M. Godoy
Services will be Tuesday for Victor M. Godoy, who died Wednesday. He was 66.
Mr. Godoy was born in Mexico and live in Santa Cruz County for 42 years.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Amelia Godoy; six children; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 515 Frederick St., Santa Cruz, CA 95062; 429-1018. Calling hours are 4-9 p.m. Monday at Norman’s Family Chapel.
Contributions are preferred to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Services will private for Sean Jarvis, who died Saturday in Capitola. He was 33.
Mr. Jarvis was born in Burlington, Vt., and moved to the Central Coast in 1992. He lived in Capitola, but spent much time in the Monterey area.
He worked in the natural food industry for years, but found his greatest pleasure in nature. He was a member of the Santa Cruz Triathelete Community, he competed in many well-known triathlons including Ironman Canada, Ironman Lake Placid and the Sentinel Triathlon.
He is survived by his wife, Gillian McGuire of Capitola; father, Charles Jarvis of Monterey; mother, Marilyn Jarvis of Vermont; grandmother, Margaret Curtin of Connecticut; brother, Joel Jarvis of Vermont; sister, Gretchen Jarvis of Vermont; and many aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins in Vermont.
His sister, Allison Jarvis, died in 1998.
Services will be private. A celebration of his life will be July 1 7:30 p.m. at Seacliff State Beach, near the Cement Ship.

Elizabeth M. Stucky
Services will be today for Elizabeth M. Stucky, who died Monday at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital. She was 75.
Mrs. Stucky was born in Dustin, Okla., and lived on and off in the Watsonville area since she was a child. She worked as a floor lady for many years for Watsonville Canning. She had worked as a waitress and in the fish canneries in Monterey.
She is survived by her husband, Verne Lloyd Stucky of Royal Oaks; son Verne Leonard Stucky of Watsonville; daughters Susan Kitchens of Watsonville, Sandra Casteel of Castroville and Sunny Hoffman of Taylorville; brother Marion Trantham of Marina; sister Frances Enos of Atwater; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Her daughter Sharon Worley died in 1999.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at Davis Memorial Chapel, 609 Main St., Watsonville.

Dorothy I. Phillips
Services are today for Dorothy Irene Phillips, who died Tuesday. She was 93.
Mrs. Phillips was born in New Castle, Ind., and studied painting at the Cincinnati Art Institute.
She is survived by her sons, Daniel I. Phillips of Santa Cruz and Raymond M. Phillips of Maui, Hawaii; and two granddaughters.
Services are 10 a.m. today at Home of Peace Cemetery on Meder Street in Santa Cruz. Contributions are preferred to Hospice Caring Project of Santa Cruz County, P.O. Box 670 Aptos, CA 95001.
Arrangements are by Pacific Gardens Chapel.

Maybelle L. Parker
Services will be Sunday for Maybelle L. Parker, who died May 21 at an area rest home. She was 80.
Mrs. Parker was born in San Jose and lived in Santa Cruz since 1939. She worked as a secretary and retired from E.D.D. She loved to travel, garden and listen to music.
She is survived by her sons, David Parker and Douglas Parker, both of Santa Cruz; daughter Debra Parker Gross of Belgrade, Mont.; sisters Carole Sindwel of Grass Valley, Laurel Skotland of Santa Cruz and Gloria Stewart of Santa Cruz; brother Harrison Lake of Aptos; four granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Ted Parker, son Ted Parker Jr. and sister Wilma Patterson all died before her.
Services will be noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at her home. Her ashes will be scattered at sea.
Contributions are preferred to Jacob’s Heart, Children’s Cancer Association.

Robert H. Pauls
Services will by Saturday for Lt. Cmdr. Robert H. Pauls, who died June 5. He was 80.
Mr. Pauls was born in Gilroy and lived in the Santa Cruz area for the past two years. He entered the National Guard at 17 and earned his wings as Navy Pilot. He spent 24 years serving his country.
He was a member of the Sirs Club and loved to golf. He was also a sports fan and loved the outdoors.
Mr. Pauls is survived by his former wife, Amanda Nehring; daughters Carol Etherton, Roberta Revelez, Marsha Pauls, Sharon Fenwick, Karen Pauls and Donna Herndon; brother Vernon Pauls; sister Irene Collins; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Oakwood Memorial Chapel, 3301 Paul Sweet Road, Santa Cruz.

Dorothy W. Witt
Services were private for Dorothy Wilma Witt, who died June 7 in Santa Cruz. She was 87.
Mrs. Witt was born in Lone Oak, Ark., and moved to Santa Cruz in 1954. She worked as a nurse for 40 years.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, T.J. Witt; son Sterling Witt of Santa Cruz; daughters Charlene Ashfield of Santa Cruz and Pat Garofolo of Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Services were private. Contributions are preferred to a favorite charity.
Arrangements were by Norman’s Family Chapel.
