Services will be Saturday for Chasuk Shim, who died at Dominican Hospital on Wednesday after a long illness. She was 82.
Mrs. Shim was a native of Korea. She had lived in Santa Cruz for the past 30 years.
She attended the Korean Church and was an active member of the local Korean community.
She enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends.
She is survived by a son, Soonho Song of Soquel; three sisters living in Korea; two granddaughters; and one great-grandson.
Her husband, Jae Chang Song, died in 1949.
Services are Saturday at 3 p.m. at Oakwood Memorial Park’s Crystal Chapel, 3301 Paul Sweet Road in Santa Cruz.

Vivian A. Antoine
Private services were held recently for Vivian A. Antoine, who died Feb. 14 in Santa Cruz. She was 77.
Mrs. Antoine was a native of Gallup, N.M. She had lived in Santa Cruz for the past 55 years.
She retired from the Bank of America and had worked at both the Eastside and Aptos branches.
Family members say she was a devoted mother who enjoyed gardening and watercolor painting.
She is survived by two daughters, Janine Antoine of Capitola and Janel Antoine-Jones of Hawaii; a brother, James Pappas of San Jose; a sister, Marie Miller of San Jose; and a grandson.
Her husband, Jack Antoine, died in September 1990.
Burial was at the Veterans Garden, Santa Cruz Memorial Park.
Contributions are preferred to a favorite charity.

Yasushi ‘Yas’ Kamitani
Yasushi "Yas" Kamitani died on Monday at Watsonville Community Hospital after a short illness. He was 76.
Mr. Kamitani was a lifelong resident of Watsonville.
He was a graduate of Watsonville High School.
He served in the Army during World War II and the Korean War.
Mr. Kamitani worked as a grocery clerk at both the Daylight Market in Watsonville and at Shopper’s Corner in Santa Cruz.
He is survived by a brother, Joe Kamitani of Pleasanton; two sisters, Frances Tsuda and Kay Yamamoto, both of Watsonville; four nephews; and one niece.
No services will be held.
Arrangements are by Mehl’s Colonial Chapel in Watsonville.

Beatrice M. Ingersoll
Services were Thursday for Beatrice Marie Ingersoll, who died Wednesday at her La Selva Beach home. She was 89.
Mrs. Ingersoll was born in Seattle. She had lived in Santa Cruz County for the past 62 years.
She was a self-employed seamstress who made clothing and quilts.
She enjoyed gardening.
She is survived by son Robert Ingersoll of Orinda; daughter Sharyn Knauss of San Jose; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Her husband of 52 years, Oscar Ingersoll, died in December 1995.
Contributions are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
Burial was in Pajaro Valley Memorial Park on Thursday.
Arrangements were by Davis Memorial Chapel in Watsonville.

Barbara Scott-Skewes
Services will be Saturday for Barbara Adams Scott-Skewes, who died Tuesday in Santa Cruz. She was 75.
Mrs. Scott-Skewes was born in Long Beach. She grew up in Santa Cruz and lived here most of her life.
She graduated from Santa Cruz High School in 1946.
She later worked as a secretary and library aide at Branciforte Junior High School for many years.
Mrs. Scott-Skewes enjoyed several hobbies including art, classical music and learning to read and write in Spanish. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends, including Connie Krause of Capitola and Kerry Kleiber of Santa Cruz.
She is survived by brother Arthur Adams of Capitola; sister Dorothy Glusco of Massachusetts; and many nieces and nephews.
Her brothers Howard and Richard Adams died in 1971 and in 1996, respectively.
Services are Saturday at 1 p.m. at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 2601 Park Ave., Soquel.
Contributions are preferred to the Hospice Caring Project of Santa Cruz County, P.O. Box 670, Aptos, CA 95001.

Norman Henry Rogers
No services will be held for Norman Henry Rogers, who died Jan. 27 in Vancouver, Wash., of Alzheimer’s disease. He was 85.
Mr. Rogers was a native of Leominster, Mass. He had also lived in Sterling, Mass., Los Angeles, San Jose and in Santa Cruz from 1966 until last month.
He attended Leominster High School in Leominster.
He worked as a tool and die maker for General Electric in San Jose and as a machinist for Simond Saw and Steel in Fitchburg, Mass.
He enjoyed building drill presses and assorted machines and once converted a Fiat into an electric vehicle. He was great with inventing things, family members say.
He attended the Unitarian Church back east and Christian Missionary Alliance on the West Coast. He was a member of the Gas Engine Club, SIRS and Boy Scouts.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth, of Vancouver; a daughter, Jane A. Letterman of Battleground, Wash.; a son, Bruce William Rogers of Fremont; two sisters, Ruth Buss of Westminster and Laurena Connolly of Leominster; three grandchildren; six nieces and three nephews.
His brother, Edwin Rogers, died in September 2002.
