Services are Monday for Janice Elaine Romero, who died Feb. 19 at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital in Palo Alto. She was 2 months old.
Janice is survived by parents Meredith and Ismael Romero of Watsonville; grandparents Linda and Anthony Torres Jr. of Salinas, and Maria and Vicente Romero of Watsonville; great-grandparents Shirley Curl, Josefina Martinez and Anthony Torres Sr.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services are 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 701 Main St., Watsonville. Burial will follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Sunday at Davis Memorial Chapel, 609 Main St., Watsonville. A vigil service is 7 p.m. at the chapel.

Meagan K. Cassidy
Private services are Tuesday for Meagan K. Cassidy, who died Thursday in Santa Cruz. She was 59.
A native of San Francisco, Mrs. Cassidy was a Santa Cruz resident since 1970. She was to receive a degree from Cabrillo College in June.
Mrs. Cassidy enjoyed gardening and was an activist for many causes.
She is survived by daughter Jennifer Wanlass of Reno, Nev.; son Jason Wanlass of Aptos; and grandson Miles Major of Reno.
Family members ask that contributions of flowers or candles be arranged in Mrs. Cassidy’s honor in a place of choosing.
Arrangements are by Oakwood Memorial Chapel.

Regina W. ‘Wilma’ Rimassa
Services will be Tuesday for Regina W. "Wilma" Rimassa, who died Friday at a Watsonville convalescent hospital. She was 91.
Mrs. Rimassa was born in San Francisco and lived in Watsonville since 1935.
She was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Valley Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Mario Rimassa of Watsonville; son Walter Rimassa of Watsonville; and grandchild Bill Rimassa of Reno, Nev.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Monday at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Valley Catholic Church.
Burial will follow at Valley Catholic Cemetery.

John David Silveira
Services will be Thursday for John David Silveira, who died at his home Tuesday. He was 60.
A native of Oakland, he later moved to Santa Cruz where he graduated from Santa Cruz High School. Mr. Silveira later lived for many years in Merced and Modesto before spending five years traveling the country in an RV with his wife. He moved to Pacific Grove a year ago.
He worked with Albertson’s grocery chain and as a real estate agent for Chicago Title for 15 years. He retired in 1997 because of health reasons.
Mr. Silveira attended St. Patrick’s Church in Merced and San Carlos Cathedral in Monterey. He was a member of Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed playing the piano with a band that entertained at many events held by the Portuguese community in the Central Valley.
Friends and family say Mr. Silveira was a real "people person" who enjoyed traveling and sharing his great sense of humor with all those he met.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sandy G. Silveira of Pacific Grove; three daughters, Laurie Anthony of Pacific Grove, Valerie Cooper of Modesto and Christy Silveira of Merced; and two grandsons.
Services are Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at San Carlos Cathedral, 500 Church St., Monterey.
Contributions are preferred to the American Heart Association or the Hospice Foundation of Monterey, P.O. Box 1798, Monterey, CA 93942.
Arrangements are by the Paul Mortuary in Pacific Grove.

Elaine R. Brown
Services will be private for Elaine R. Brown, who died Tuesday in Santa Cruz. She was 94.
Mrs. Brown was born in Santa Cruz. After spending several decades in Marin, she moved back to Santa Cruz in 1970. She enjoyed designing artificial flower arrangements, dancing and senior activities.
She is survived by nephew Gary Jacobsen of Denver and niece Joan Lopez of Millers Creek, N.C.
Services will be private for the family. Arrangements are by Santa Cruz Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 1927 Ocean St., Santa Cruz.

Jeanie C. Redding
No services are planned for Jeanie Cheroff Redding, who died March 6 of breast cancer in Vallejo. She was 47.
Mrs. Cheroff was born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. She came to Santa Cruz in the 1970s to attend UC Santa Cruz.
She grew up in upstate New York and moved to Los Gatos at age 15. She earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from UCSC in 1978. She met her husband there and marriage him in 1978.
In 1987 she and her family moved to Napa, where Mrs. Cheroff ran a day-care center. Later, she worked as a teacher and counselor for Aldea School, helping at-risk youth.
She loved travel, crochet, the outdoors, dancing, music, concerts, bicycle riding and her family.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Jeffrey Redding; daughters Erin, Carrie, Sophie and Hannah Redding and son Micah Redding, all of Napa; and father George Cheroff, of Oakland.
Her mother, Rosemary Cheroff, died before her.

John W. Andrews
Services will be Saturday for John Wesley Andrews, who died Tuesday in Santa Cruz. He was 83.
Mr. Andrews was born in Tarkio, Miss. and moved to Santa Cruz 27 years ago.
He worked for Lockheed Corp. as a sheet-metal smith. During World War II he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and did aviation-related metalwork.
After the Navy, he attended Woodbury College, graduating magna cum laude with and an associate’s degree in interior design. He worked in interior design for more than 50 years.
He was a talented artist and loved inventing. A devoted Christian, he was a longtime member of Plymouth Brethren Assembly.
He is survived by son Steve Andrews of Mount Hermon; two sisters; two brothers; and two grandsons.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday in Room 10 of the Santa Cruz Bible Church worship center, 440 Frederick St. Private Burial will precede the service at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine.
Arrangements are by Pacific Gardens Chapel.

Pedro F. Lara
Services will be Tuesday for Pedro F. Lara, who died Thursday at Watsonville Community Hospital after being disabled 10 months ago. He was 49.
Born in Zacatecas, Mexico, he had lived in Watsonville for 32 years.
He was a truck driver for V&L Farm strawberry growers in Salinas before retiring due to health problems. He attended Church of the Assumption in Pajaro.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Lara of Watsonville; a son Pedro Lara of Watsonville; three daughters, Silvia, Sonia and Francisca, all of Watsonville; three brothers, Daniel and Ruben Lara, both of Watsonville, and Jose Lara of Salinas; four sisters, Olivia Benevidez of Watsonville, Conception Lara of Salinas, Maria Alvarado and Carmen Lara, both of Mexico.
Friends may call from 1-5 p.m. Sunday at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel, 222 E. Lake Ave., Watsonville.
The Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Monday at Church of the Assumption. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will follow at Watsonville Catholic Cemetery.

Angelo J. Cursi
Services will be Wednesday for Angelo J. Cursi, a longtime Watsonville resident who died Thursday at Valley Convalescent Hospital. He was 90.
Born in Hibbing, Minn., he came to Santa Cruz County with his family 80 years ago.
He graduated from Santa Cruz High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a plant manager for Pepsi-Cola Bottling Co. in Watsonville for many years, retiring in 1979.
He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Sons in Retirement and the Sons of Italy and a past member of the Eagle’s Lodge of Watsonville.
He is survived by a son, George Cursi of Watsonville; daughter Elisa Linderman of Watsonville; brothers, Atilio "Buck" Cursi of Watsonville and Marino "Lefty" Cursi of Castroville; sister Adella Cursi of Santa Cruz; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
His wife, Ruth, died in 1981. He sister Mary Mugnaini and brothers Hugo and Albert Cursi died before him.
Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at Davis Memorial Chapel, 609 Main St., Watsonville; a vigil/rosary will be 7 p.m.
A funeral mass will be 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Church, Watsonville. Burial will be in Watsonville Catholic Cemetery.
