Services are pending for Sally J. Dunmire, who died Tuesday at her Santa Cruz home after a long illness. She was 67.
Mrs. Dunmire was born and raised in Clinton, Iowa, and had lived in Santa Cruz since 1964.
She previously lived in Kittanning, Pa.
Mrs. Dunmire was a homemaker and a member of the High Street Community Church of Santa Cruz.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Paul Eugene "Gene" Dunmire of Santa Cruz; sons Ivan Dunmire of Boston and Douglas Dunmire of Fairbanks, Alaska; daughters Vincy Dunmire of San Diego and Carolyn Liao of Englewood Cliffs, N.J.; mother Vincy Carnes of Clinton, Iowa; sister Becky Duning of El Prado, N.M.; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Rural Valley Cemetery, Rural Valley, Pa. Mehl’s Colonial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Contributions are preferred to a favorite charity.

June Brookman Womble
At her request, no services will be held for June Brookman Womble, who died Friday in Santa Cruz. She was 89.
Mrs. Womble was born in Doty, Wash., and lived in Santa Cruz for 63 years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star No. 273.
She is survived by her son, Charles Brookman of Santa Cruz; daughter, Nancy Ross of Mount Vernon, Wash.; brother, Bill Affolter of Morro Bay; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her daughter Joan Stagnaro died in 1988.
Arrangements are by Norman’s Family Chapel.

Bill Falke
Services are Sunday for Bill Falke, who died Tuesday. He was 68.
Mr. Falke was born in Colorado, where he graduated from Rifle High School. He was a surveyor for the Army Corps of Engineers in Korea.
He lived in Missouri and Arizona and settled in Watsonville to be near his grandchildren. Mr. Falked worked for the Campbell Fire Department for 16 years.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Falke; daughters Patsy Hammerstrom and Pam Falke-Krueger; sisters Bonnie Lombardo and Clara Lee; and six grandchildren.
Services are from 1-4 p.m. Sunday at Pajaro Village Clubhouse, 739 Bronte Ave., Watsonville.
Contributions are preferred to the American Cancer Society or Hospice Caring Project.

Elaine Von Dorn
Services will be private for Elaine Von Dorn, who died Sept. 27 in Scottsdale, Ariz. She was 79.
Mrs. Von Dorn was born in North Dakota. She lived in Rio del Mar before moving to Scottsdale in November 2000.
Mrs. Von Dorn graduated from East High School in Denver. She was the first woman vice president at Crocker Bank in San Francisco.
Mrs. Von Dorn was a member of the UCSC Women’s Club, the UCSC Book Club, the Santa Cruz Women’s Club and the Mended Hearts.
She is survived by her husband, Frederick Von Dorn; daughter Christine Payne; son Bob Williams; stepson James Von Dorn; sisters Harriett Cramer of Soquel and Lucille Frederick of Kirkland, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Olga M. Grassi
Services are Monday for Olga M. Grassi, who died Wednesday in Santa Cruz. She was 81.
Mrs. Grassi was born in Firebaugh. She had lived in Santa Cruz for more than 80 years.
Mrs. Grassi graduated from Holy Cross High School. She worked in the grocery business and as a secretary for an electric lighting firm.
Mrs. Grassi enjoyed collecting Mexican dishes and country chickens. She also enjoyed the ocean and reading and writing. She had several articles published in Ocean Life Magazine and other publications.
Mrs. Grassi was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, Mended Hearts Club and the Seabright Association.
She is survived by sons Michael Grassi, Joseph Grassi and Steven Grassi, all of Santa Cruz; daughters Diane Grassi of Santa Cruz, Michele Wynn of Waterford and Jennifer Devine of Santa Cruz; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Joseph Grassi, died in 1987.
Services are at 11 a.m. Monday at Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the chapel.
Contributions are preferred to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Margie Elois Butler
Services are Monday for Margie Elois Butler, who died Wednesday in Watsonville. She was 67.
Mrs. Butler was born in Parkland, Okla. She had lived in the Watsonville area 41 years.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, James L. Butler of Watsonville; daughters Cheryl Perkins, Lynn Powers, Arleen Betz, Brenda Daniels and Katie Hollesen, all of Watsonville; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services are at 11 a.m. Monday at Church of the Nazarene, 710 Green Valley Road, Watsonville. Burial will follow at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 1-5 p.m. Saturday and from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Davis Memorial Chapel in Watsonville.

Rosie M. Perry
Services are Friday for Rosie M. Perry, who died Monday at her Watsonville home. She was 81.
Mrs. Perry had lived in Watsonville since 1942 and had worked for numerous frozen-food plants in the area.
Mrs. Perry grew apples and berries on her family farm. She raised foster children for 20 years.
Mrs. Perry enjoyed knitting and making dolls and other crafts.
She is survived by daughter Alice Bankhead of Watsonville; brothers Antone Mello of Texas, Manuel Mello of Selma, Joseph Mello of Gilroy and Frank Mello of Watsonville; sister Mary Whalen of Watsonville; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and dozens of foster children.
Her husband, Edward Perry, died in December 2000.
Services are at 7 p.m. on Friday at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. at the chapel.
A Mass will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Valley Catholic Church.

Mabel Jane Arnedt
Services will be held later this month for Mabel Jane Arnedt, who died Friday. She was 92.
The Oakland native moved to Santa Cruz in 1989. Her husband, Emile Gustav Arnedt, died in 1973.
Mrs. Arnedt was a member of the Fruitvale Presbytarian Church in Oakland. She was a registered nurse who graduated from Highland Hospital School of Nursing in 1932. She enjoyed homemaking, handiwork, music and attending church.
She is survived by her son, John; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held later this month. Internment will be at the Chapel of Chimes in Oakland.
