No services are planned for William Nash of Santa Cruz, who died Sunday at Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz. He was 59.
Mr. Nash enjoyed volunteering and often helped the seniors at the Duncan Hobart Pool in Watsonville.
He enjoyed drawing cartoons and had several published in the Sentinel in the early 1990s.
He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Gloria Nash of Santa Cruz; his mother, Mary Nash of Atlanta; and a brother, Robert Nash of Atlanta.

Gretta G. Bennett
Services will be private for Gretta Grace Bennett, who died Thursday at a local hospital. She was 93.
Mrs. Bennett was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, and raised in Glenfarg.
She immigrated to the United States with her family in 1924, settling in Oakland, and moved to Santa Cruz after marrying Delbert Pearsall in 1928. While living in Twin Lakes, she and her family were evacuated due to a threat of invasion off the California coast.
She moved to San Jose with her second husband, Frank Bennett, and returned to Santa Cruz in 1959. From 1962 to 1972, she worked at J.C. Penney on Pacific Avenue.
Mrs. Bennett was a devout Christian who loved the outdoors, golf, gardening, antiques, cooking and baking, family members said; her friends and neighbors especially enjoyed her Christmas cookies.
She is survived by daughter Sandra Pearsall of Santa Cruz; sisters Lillian Sherovich of Escondido and Pat Lalor of Janesville, Wis.; four cousins; and many nieces and nephews.
Her husband of 24 years, Delbert Pearsall, died in 1952.
Her ashes will be taken to Madronia Cemetery in Saratoga.

Mary Beulah Holton
No services are planned for Mary Beulah Holton, who died Wednesday in Turlock. She was 97.
Mrs. Holton was born in Johnsonville, Ill., and moved to Aptos in 1972.
She was active in the Order of the Eastern Star and was a member of the Congregational Church of Soquel.
She is survived by nephews John Beckman of Livingston, Texas, and James Beckman of Dayton, Ohio, and cousin Kirkwood Bridegroom of Turlock.
Arrangements are by Pacific Gardens Chapel.

A.C. Conner
Services will be Tuesday for A. C. Conner, who died Tuesday at his home in Salinas. He was 82.
Mr. Conner was born in Oakhurst, Texas, and lived in Watsonville for 40 years. He moved to Salinas last year.
Mr. Conner served in the Navy during World War II and worked as a foreman for West Coast Farms in Watsonville for more than 30 years. He retired in 1985.
He was a member of SIRS and enjoyed spending time with family members, fishing, barbecuing and gardening. He won several trophies for his salmon-fishing prowess, family members said.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Connie McLain-Conner of Salinas; son Ernest R. Conner of Santa Rosa; daughter Shirley A. Conner of Watsonville; sister Rosalie Bailey of Texas; and one grandchild.
His first wife, Ada B. Conner, died in 1985.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Davis Memorial Chapel, 609 Main St., Watsonville.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park.
Burial with military honors will follow the service.

Cutberto Salgado Diaz
Services will be Saturday for Cutberto Salgado Diaz, who died from a sudden illness Tuesday at his Santa Cruz home. He was 38.
A native of Tlaltizapan, Morelos, Mexico, he had lived in Santa Cruz for 19 years. Mr. Diaz was involved in the construction industry as a plasterer.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Chavez of Santa Cruz; brothers, Miguel Angel and Demetrio Salgado of Santa Cruz, Jose Luis Salgado and Felipe Salgado of Mexico; sisters Ernestina Salgado, Brenda Italia and Elia Salgado, all of Santa Cruz, and Lucinda and Adelina Salgado of Mexico.
Services will be 6 p.m. Saturday at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel, 222 E. Lake Ave., Watsonville. Friends may call 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the chapel. He will be buried in Mexico.

Rosario Arceo Galera
Services will be Tuesday for Rosario Arceo Galera, who died Wednesday at her home in Watsonville after a long illness. She was 78.
A native of the Philippine Islands, she worked as a seamstress at the Colshire pajama factory in Watsonville for 10 years, and lived in the area for more than 30 years.
She was active in the Filipino community, loved to collect dolls, shop and travel.
She is survived by her husband, Proculo, of Watsonville; sons, Rommel, Antonio and Reynaldo of Watsonville, Randy of Salinas and Robert of Santa Rosa; daughter Teresita Galera of the Philippines; a brother in Daly City; and two brothers and two sisters in the Philippines; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Donations are preferred to the Visiting Nurses Association of Santa Cruz County.
Friends may call 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at Davis Memorial Chapel. A vigil and rosary will be 6 p.m. Monday at Davis Memorial Chapel.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Davis Memorial Chapel, where a procession will leave to the Pioneer Cemetery where she will be buried.

Evelyn ‘Eve’ Stevens Ellison
No services will be held for Evelyn "Eve" Stevens Ellison, who died Monday at Driftwood Health Center of pneumonia. She was 84.
Ms. Ellison was born and raised in Minneapolis and lived in Redondo Beach and Torrance for 60 years before moving to Scotts Valley three years ago. She lived in Santa Cruz for the past six months.
Mrs. Ellison graduated from the Minneapolis School of Art and Design and had a great interest in photography, graphic arts, politics and metaphysical studies.
She was a member of the Church of Religious Science in Redondo Beach since the 1950s.
She is survived by daughter Karen Carns of Downey; son Tom Ellison of Santa Cruz; one stepson; and two grandchildren.
Her twin brother, Ben, died in 2001.
Contributions are preferred to Hospice Caring Project, PO Box 670, Aptos, CA 95003.
Arrangements are by the Neptune Society in San Jose.

Dorothy May Josselyn
Services were private for Dorothy May Josselyn, who died April 30 in Santa Cruz. She was 78.
Mrs. Josselyn was born in Ridgefield, Wash., and was raised in Vancouver, Wash. She lived in Scotts Valley the past 28 years.
In high school, she was an outstanding softball player. She worked for at the VanPort Kaiser shipyard during the early part of World War II. After, she moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington, graduating in 1948 with a degree in social welfare.
After several years in Seattle, she moved to Berkeley, where she met her husband, who she marriage in 1952. In 1956 they moved to Rancagua, Chile. They lived there, in a copper mining town in the Andes Mountains, for three years.
Upon return, they lived in San Jose and, later, Rancho Palos Verdes. They retired in Scotts Valley.
Mrs. Josselyn loved God, Jesus Christ and her family. Her happiest moments were spent with her family and praying.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Dudley Josselyn; daughters Renee Buckler of Rancho Palos Verdes and Ginger Riley of Aromas; sons Paul Josselyn of Aromas and James Josselyn of Santa Cruz, and eight grandchildren.

Geraldine LaVern Ertmoed Rowan
Services will be private for Geraldine LaVern Ertmoed Rowan, who died May 16 at a Watsonville convalescent hospital. She was 73.
Mrs. Rowan was born in Monterey and lived in Watsonville for many years.
She worked as a nurse for more than 28 years and enjoyed crocheting, knitting and gardening.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Albert W. Rowan of Watsonville; sons Kenneth and Johnny Gromberg, both of Los Angeles and Paul Gromberg of Kingman, Ariz.; daughter Ellen Gromberg of Freedom; and sister Janet DeLappe of Salinas.
Arrangements are by Santa Cruz Watsonville Cremation Service.
