Services have been held for Duane "Bud" Earl Clark Sr., who died Friday of pulmonary fibrosis at the Veterans Hospital in Palo Alto. He was 68.
Born in Rockwell City, Iowa, he lived in Scotts Valley from 1967 until two years ago, when he retired to Groveland.
He was raised in Redwood City, and attended schools there. He served in the Marines and trained as a flame-thrower operator during the Korean War.
He ran a family drywall business in Scotts Valley for more than 30 years. He attended Scotts Valley Baptist Church and Twin Lakes Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Beverly Clark; sons Bud Clark Jr. of Maui, Brett Clark of Groveland and Kelly Clark of Groveland; two daughters, Julie Austin of Hickman and Jill Oellrich of Groveland; sister, Joan Reynoso of Redwood City; and 19 grandchildren.
His sister Lois Schriener died before him.

Christina Kanakos Kinstler
Services will be June 7 for Christina Kanakos Kinstler, who died May 23 in Aptos. She was 86.
Ms. Kinstler was born in New York City and moved to Sacramento in 1946. She lived in Capitola for 18 years.
She was the manager of the circulation department of Carmichael Library in Sacramento County.
Ms. Kinstler was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Capitola, and enjoyed reading, going to the movies and sitting by the ocean.
She is survived by daughters Margaret Kinstler and Katie Bianco, both of Soquel; sons John Kinstler Jr. of Sacramento and Jim Kinstler of Soquel; sister Beatrice Riceman of Sacramento; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Services will be 12:30 p.m. June 7 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Capitola.

Sarrah Pauline Sharp
Services will be Monday for Sarrah Pauline Sharp, who died Saturday at Valley Convalescent Hospital after a stroke. She was 92.
A native of Arkansas, she worked as a bookkepper for Meadow Gold Dairies in Watsonville for 26 years.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Watsonville. She loved to sew, was a meticulous housekeeper and enjoyed traveling to Europe and Canada with the Watsonville Band.
She is survived by her close friend, Margaret Hicks of Watsonville.
Contributions are preferred to First Baptist Church in Watsonville.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-3 p.m. at Davis Memorial Chapel.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Davis Memorial Chapel. She will be buried in Pioneer Cemetery.

Thomas David McBride Jr.
Services will be private for Thomas David McBride Jr., who died of cancer Sunday at Golden Age Convalescent Hospital in Santa Cruz. He was 63.
A Boulder, Co., native, he was raised in Boulder and lived for 23 years in Santa Cruz. He also spent time in Sunnyvale, Palo Alto and Redwood City.
He served in the U.S. Air Force four years.
Mr. McBride enjoyed art and photography.
He is survived by daughters Christiane McBride of Anaheim and Shannon Hawkins of Santa Cruz; brothers Jack McBridge of Longmont, Colo. and Kenneth McBridge of Boulder, Colo.; and one grandchild.
Arrangements are under Santa Cruz Memorial Park & Funeral Home, Santa Cruz.

Isabel R. Araldo
Services will be Tuesday for Isabel R. Araldo, who died Thursday at Driftwood Health Care in Santa Cruz. She was 86.
Ms. Araldo was born in Santa Cruz and lived in Watsonville most of her life. She graduated from Watsonville High School.
Ms. Araldo was a member of the Pajaro Village Sewing Guild.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, bird watching and reading, especially cookbooks and political nonfiction.
Ms. Araldo is survived by daughters Janelle Secondo of Watsonville and Lenette Sawisch of Lansing, Mich.; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and special friend Chester Misukewicz of Watsonville.
Her husband of 62 years, John Frank Araldo, died in 1998.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Davis Memorial Chapel, 609 Main St., Watsonville.
Ms. Araldo will be buried at Watsonville Catholic Cemetery.

Eudonna G. S. Lemus
Services will be Tuesday for Eudonna Gayle Smith Lemus, who died Wednesday at O’Connor Hospital in San Jose. She was 69.
Mrs. Lemus was born and raised in Watsonville. She lived in Salinas for many years before moving to San Jose in 1986.
Mrs. Lemus graduated from Watsonville High School in 1951 and from Hartnell College in Salinas. She also attended San Jose State University.
She worked as a secretary and retired in 1986 as regional administrator for Northern California Savings and Loan in Salinas.
Mrs. Lemus was president of the Salinas Chapter of the state Certified Professional Secretaries. She was also a 25-year member of the Miss California Rodeo Association and was a member of the Salinas Jr. Women’s Club.
She volunteered for many years as a "cherry lady" at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital and with the Camp Fire Girls in Watsonville.
Mrs. Lemus enjoyed volunteering, reading, cooking, decorating, making rubber stamp cards and admiring and encouraging her husband’s artwork.
She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Larry J. Lemus of San Jose; half-brother David Cook of Oregon; stepmother Nita Smith of Salinas; stepsister Nancy Dicks of Oregon; and one nephew.
Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Monday at Davis Memorial Chapel, 609 Main St., Watsonville.Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park.

Lauren Gold
Services will be Wednesday for Lauren Gold, who died May 21 at Stanford Hospital of complications from diabetes.
A native of Newton, Mass., she had lived in Santa Cruz County since 1987. She worked as a chef for more than 15 years.
She was passionate about nature, wildlife and philosophy, joining Defenders of Wildlife, Ocean Conservancy, PETA, National Resources Defense Council, Earth Justice and Nature Conservancy.
She is survived by her father, Sydney Gold of Newton, Mass., brother Jeffrey Gold of Newton, Mass., a sister Patricia Gottlieb of Westborough, Mass., two nieces and one nephew, and her life partner of 12 years, Scott Taylor of Santa Cruz.
Her mother, Evelyn Gold, died before her.
A memorial service will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Mount Hermon Conference Center, 37 Conference Drive, Mount Hermon. Services will be at the amphitheater across from the parking lot adjacent to the recreation field.
Arrangements are by Santa Cruz Memorial Park and Funeral Home.
Contributions are preferred to the National Resources Defense Council or Defenders of Wildlife.

Christina K. Kinstler
Services will be June 7 for Christina Kanakos Kinstler, who died Friday in Aegis Assisted Living. She was 86.
She was the daughter of immigrants. Her mother was from Ireland, and her father was from Greece. She moved to Sacramento in 1946 and raised her four children there.
She lived along Soquel Creek in Capitola for the past 18 years. Raised in New York City, she was the former manager of the circulation department at Carmichael Library, part of the Sacramento County library system.
She moved from Capitola after retiring from the library in 1984.
She liked to read, go to the movies and sit by the ocean. She belonged to St. Joseph’s Church in Capitola.
She is survived by daughters Margaret Kinstler of Soquel and Katie Bianco of Soquel; sons John Kinstler Jr. of Sacramento and Jim Kinstler of Soquel; sister Beatrice Riceman of Sacramento; seven grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Services will be 12:30 p.m. June 7, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Capitola.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated by a family friend, the Rev. Patrick Dooling.
