Olga Stampfli, a longtime resident of Watsonville, died Thursday after a long illness. She was nearly 103.
Born in Gansingen, Switzerland, Mrs. Stampfli immigrated to the United States in 1925 and settled in Watsonville in 1947.
Mrs. Stampfli worked as a caregiver for more than 20 years. She was a member of the Episcopal Church, the Royal Neighbors of America and the Eastern Star. She loved to knit and garden.
She is survived by a daughter, Helen Pokovitch, of Watsonville; two grandchildren, Steven Frost of San Jose and Stephanie Holtorf of Reno; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nick Stampfli, in 1947.
A private service will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel.

Eulalie F. Bray
No services will be held for Eulalie F. Bray, who died July 29. She was 93.
Born in Grand Rapids, Mich., Mrs. Bray lived in Applegate for many years, where she enjoyed painting, sewing and gardening.
Mrs. Bray is survived by a son, Richard Bray of Santa Cruz; a daughter, Marjorie Harren of Applegate; a sister, Martha Hoyle of Kamuela, Hawaii; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Stanley R. Doolin
Memorial services will be Sunday for Stanley R. Doolin, who died Aug. 31. He was 57.
Mr. Doolin was a native Californian who lived in Santa Cruz for 25 years. He enjoyed boating and fishing.
Mr. Doolin is survived by his mother Emma C. Doolin; aunt Dolly Battilana; cousins Donald and Gary Regoli, Deanna Dorsa, Carol Grober, Donna Gordon, Marie Schmidt, and their spouses and children.
Memorial services will be at noon at the Santa Cruz Small Crafts Harbor public meeting room, 365 Lake Ave., Santa Cruz. Mr. Doolin’s ashes will be scattered at sea in a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are by Oakwood Memorial Chapel.

Lilian V. Hunsbedt
Services will be Sept. 22 for Lilian Hunsbedt, who died Wednesday from a long illness. She was 64.
Mrs. Hunsbedt is survived by her husband, Astein Hunsbedt, and children Melissa and Mark Hunsbedt of Los Gatos. She is also survived by her father William C. Ohren, sisters Marion Murphy, Brenda Jones and Pauline Preston, all of Liverpool, England. Mrs. Hunsbedt is also survived by her dog Shane.
Mrs. Hunsbedt, a native of Liverpool, was active in the Loma Prieta Ladie’s Club. She lived in the Summit area for 22 years where she was very involved in her childrens’ schools and the community. She enjoyed singing, dancing, cooking, arts and crafts, and her family.
Memorial services will be at Christ Child Catholic Church, 23230 Summit Road, Los Gatos, at 1 p.m.
The Santa Cruz Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Hunsbedt’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 209 Walnut St. 96061, Santa Cruz; the Women’s Crisis Center, 1658 Soquel Drive , Santa Cruz, 95065; and the Hospice Caring Project, 6851 Soquel Drive, Aptos, 95003.

Patrick F. Dwyer
Services will be Wednesday for Patrick F. Dwyer, who died Friday at Watsonville Hospital. He was 56.
A native of Duchess County, N.Y., he moved to Freedom 21 years ago and had been a self-employed painting contractor for 15 years.
He was a member of the Legion of Mary at Valley Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, a volunteer at a local rest home, and he read for vigils at St. Patrick’s Church and Valley Catholic Church.
He enjoyed walking at Seacliff State Beach and around Watsonville.
Dwyer is survived by his daughter, Anne Dwyer of Watsonville; granddaughter Tasha Marie Dwyer of Watsonville and brother Joseph Dwyer of Syracuse, N.Y.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Davis Memorial Chapel at 609 Main St. in Watsonville. A vigil and rosary will be at 7 tonight at St. Patrick’s Church.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Valley Catholic Church. Burial at Valley Public Cemetery will follow.

Joan K. Black
Services will be private for Joan K. Black, who died in her Aptos home Friday.
The native Californian lived in Santa Cruz for the past 42 years.
Mrs. Black is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Winsor of Aptos; son Baron Black of San Diego; sister, Eleanor Vigil of Hemet; and five grandchildren.
Her husband, Sam L. Black, died in 1974.
Arrangements are by Santa Cruz Cremation Service.

Barney S. McCarter
Private services will be later for Barney S. McCarter, who died Friday at his home in Watsonville after a long illness. He was 82.
Mr. McCarter was born in Wyoming and lived in Watsonville since 1928.
He served in World War II. After the war, he leased a Signal Gas station at Rodrgiuez and East Beach streets and then owned a trucking business in Watsonville, hauling garlic, salt and other products.
Mr. McCarter then worked as a mechanic for the city of Watsonville for 25 years.
He enjoyed gardening and fishing, and often used his mechanical skills to work on various home projects.
He was also a baseball fanatic, his wife said, and loved watching games, especially when his grandson played in the minor leagues. He also loved NASCAR races, and watched a race just last week.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Agnes McCarter; a son, Larry McCarter of Corning; a stepson, Jay D. Ray of Santa Cruz; a daughter, June McCarter of Santa Cruz; stepdaughters Margaret Massey of Marina, Nancy Ray McCarter of San Jose and Carla Goldman of Watsonville; nine grandchildren; and three great- granddaughters.

Ginger Goldia Rogers
Ginger Goldia Rogers, a former Santa Cruz resident, died March 4 in Napa. She was 91.
Mrs. Rogers enjoyed bingo and lunches at the senior center during her many years in Santa Cruz.
She is survived by brothers Chet Decker of Santa Rosa and Ray Decker of Lebanon, Mo.; sisters Grace Hunter of Napa and Maxine Hogue of Lebanon, Mo.; a grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
She is buried at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Sacramento.

Genevieve Moran
Services are Thursday for Genevieve Moran, who died Saturday in Watsonville. She was 83.
Mrs. Moran was born in San Francisco. She had lived in Watsonville since 1947.
Mrs. Moran enjoyed baking, bowling, visits to Reno, and being a housewife and mother. She was a member of the Golden Rail.
She is survived by daughter Kathy Choate of Watsonville; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Her husband of 48 years, Ed Moran, and son Tom Moran died before her.
Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel. Private Burial will be at Pioneer Cemetery.
