No services will be held for Marian DiNiro, who died Monday in Scotts Valley. She was 72.
She was a native of New York and lived in Los Angeles most of her life. She worked for Desilu Productions running an acting school. She worked as a bookkeeper and a magician’s assistant in a circus. She spent the last three years of her life with her family in Scotts Valley. She loved good books, sitting on a bench drinking black coffee and watching her grandnieces play dress up with her jewelry. Her family will remember has as an extraordinary woman who touched everyone that knew her.
Mrs. DiNiro is survived by sons Roger DiNiro of Los Angeles and John DiNiro of Pennsylvania; and niece, Gillian McGlaze of Scotts Valley.

Letitia Dean Miller
Private services are planned for Letitia Dean Miller, who died March 3 in Greenbrae. She was 92.
She was born in Oakland and educated at Holy Names Convent and UC Berkeley.
She marriage Ralph Selleck Miller of Santa Cruz in 1932. The couple made their home in Santa Cruz and raised three daughters here. She moved to Walnut Creek after her husband’s death in 1972, and then to Marin in 1987.
Mrs. Miller is survived by sister Margaret McPhee Reich of Piedmont; daughters Ann Miller Clingsby, Susan Miller Ashla of Boise, Idaho and Wendy Ellen Miller of Bolton Landing, N.Y.; eight grandchildren and four great- grandchildren.

Jack Rasmussen
Services were Wednesday for former Santa Cruz resident Jack Rasmussen, who died March 5 in Brookings, Ore. He was 82.
Mr. Rasmussen retired from the County Bank of Santa Cruz in 1980 after 45 years in the banking business.
He was a veteran of World War II.
He served two terms on the Santa Cruz County grand jury, three years on the Santa Cruz County Board of Public Welfare and was a director of the Santa Cruz Area Chamber of Commerce.
He was also a director of the Santa Cruz area chapter of the Red Cross. In addition, he was a member of the Kiwanis Club for 26 years and served as chapter president and director.
He later moved to Avenal, where he volunteered for the Avenal District Hospital. He moved to Oregon in 1994.
He is survived by wife Margaret Rasmussen of Brookings; son Scott Rasmussen of Kelseyville; stepdaughters Rhonda Baird of Watsonville, Becky Alden of Pacific Palisades and Judy Williams of Palo Alto; and nine grandchildren.
Services were March 8 in Brookings, Ore.

Jean Fontana
Services will be Monday for former Santa Cruz resident Jean Fontana, who died Wednesday in Corona. She was 93.
Corona and husband Lou owned Lou’s Liquor in Santa Cruz for 14 years, retiring in 1970.
She was born in Italy, and lived in Santa Cruz for 40 years. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by husband Louis Fontana of Corona; daughters Patricia Miller of Corona and Marie Louise O’Brien of San Jose; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Cemetery in Santa Cruz.

Thelma Lee Anderson
Services are today for Thelma Lee Anderson, who died Friday in Hanford. She was 93.
She was born in Biloxi, Miss., and lived in Watsonville since 1939. She was a charter member of the Freedom Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by daughters Lorene Powell of Mitchell, Ore., Mary Ella Carlson of Strawberry, Ariz., Mae Boles of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Helen Sherburne of Carson City, Nev.; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her husband, James Edward Anderson, died in 1978.
Services are at 10 a.m. today at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Freedom. She will be buried in Oakwood Memorial Park in Santa Cruz.

Viena Santos
No services are planned for Viena "Vivi" Santos, who died Thursday in Santa Cruz. She was 74.
She was born in Tamarack, Minn. and was a longtime resident of San Jose. Twelve years ago, she and her husband moved to Capitola. She was an administrative assistant with the San Jose Unified School District for 34 years. She was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi.
Mrs. Santos is survived by her husband of 52 years, Abe Santos of Capitola; daughters Charmian Goularte of Felton and Valerie Santos of Murietta; brother Ernie Rinta of Groveland and Gene Rinta of Mesa, Ariz.; sister Helen Swedberg of Aitkin, Minn.; 4 grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren.
A private Burial in Tamarack, Minn. is under the direction of Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel in Santa Cruz.

Barbara Jean Heninger
Private services are planned for Barbara Jean Heninger, who died Saturday in Capitola. She was 76.
She had an interest in the natural world and taught many to see the life around them. She was a docent and promoter of Long Marine Lab for 20 years. She was a member of the Santa Cruz Weaving Guild.
Mrs. Heninger is survived by husband Grant; sons Peter Heninger of Anchorage, Alaska and Andrew Heninger of Los Altos; daughters Becky Heninger of Newbury and Margaret Delinger of Ridgefield, Conn; and six grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be announced later.

Verna Lucille Leonard
No services are planned for Verna Lucille Leonard, who died Jan. 28 in Rio Del. She was 74.
Before moving to North California, she lived in Aptos. She was a homemaker and a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved to travel and she lived all over the United States.Her family and friends will remember her cheerful and loving spirit.
Mrs. Leonard is survived by her husband of 51 years, Richard L. "Bud" Leonard; daughters Patricia Combs of Fresno, Pamela Leonard of Dayton, Ohio, Gayle Fraser of Soquel; son Brian Leonard of Vail, Colo.; brothers Robert Owens of Cape Coral, Fla., and Richard Owens of Salinas.

Guadalupe Antonio Escovedo
Services will be today for Guadalupe Antonio Escovedo, who died Thursday in Watsonville after a sudden illness. He was 47.
He was born in Nogales, Mexico, and had lived in Watsonville for the past five years. He was employed as a cashier at Iiams Market in Watsonville.
Mr. Escovedo is survived by wife Ana Maria Vilchis of Mexico; daughters Carla Guadalupe, Elizabeth, Ana Maria and Norma Alicia, all of Mexico; sons Diego and Guadalupe Jr., both of Mexico; brother Umberto Valdivia of Watsonville; sisters Francisca Escovedo and Imelda Valdivia, both of Watsonville; and mother Maria Escovedo of Mexico.
Friends may call from 5-9 tonight at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel. A Rosary will be recited at 6.
Funeral services and Burial will be in Mexico.

Zelma Edith Borden
Services will be Thursday for Zelma Edith Borden, who died March 6 in Santa Cruz. She was 96.
She was born in Lexington, Ore., and had lived in Santa Cruz since 1958. She was a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. She was a past president of the Eagles Auxillary.
Mrs. Borden is survived by daughter Arlene Lewis of Fresno.
Her husband of 23 years, Burrell Borden, died in 1986.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Santa Cruz Memorial Park Mission Chapel.
Santa Cruz Memorial Park Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
