A former resident of Orange County, she had lived in the Santa Cruz County area for five years. She enjoyed reading and playing bridge.
Survivors include daughters Marilyn McConnell of Aptos and Anita Elizabeth Rowlands of Ajo, Ariz.; and sons Edward Coleman of Leyton, Utah, and Robert J. Coleman of Santa Rosa.

Violet Tibbitts
No services are planned for Violet Tibbitts, who died Wednesday at Watsonville Community Hospital. She was 76.
A native of Oregon City, Ore., she was a homemaker who had lived in Watsonville since 1946.
Survivors include husband Marley Tibbitts of Watsonville; sons Donald Tibbitts of Carson City, Nev., and Ronald Tibbitts of Sacramento; sisters June Henderlite of Federal Way, Wash., and Bernice Snell of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.

Lino Martinez Ochoa
Services will be Monday for Lino Martinez Ochoa, who died Tuesday in Watsonville. He was 58.
Born in Jalisco, Mexico, he had lived in the Santa Cruz County area for 26 years. He enjoyed reading the Bible, walking in parks and collecting die-cast cars. He was employed by Sakata Ranches for 20 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Alma Martinez of Watsonville; sons Gilbert Ochoa of Ontario, Juan Carlos Ochoa of Bellflower, and Eduardo Ochoa and Daniel Ochoa, both of Los Angeles; sisters Socorro Espinoza of Watsonville, Norma Orozco of Wasco and Bertha Macias of Tijuana, Mexico.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, 721 Main St., Watsonville.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday and from 2-4 p.m. Saturday.

Services will be Saturday for Pauline Gartrell, who died Tuesday in San Jose. She was 82.
Born in Jalisco, Mexico, she had lived in the Santa Cruz County area for 15 years.
She was a member of Las Lomas Baptist Church and was retired from Agnews State Hospital.
Survivors include daughter Glenda Yaryan of San Jose; son Bruce Gartrell of Minnesota; sisters Marie Hamil of Norman, Okla., Chessie Kenney of Pueblo, Colo., and Ramona Weatherly of Amarillo, Texas.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Queen of Heaven Chapel, 18200 Damien Way, Salinas.

Smith was an artist, a dog lover and enjoyed cooking.

Services will be Saturday for Minota E. Barbagelata, who died Sunday at an area convalescent hospital. She was 93.
Born in Sioux Falls, S.D., she had lived in Santa Cruz County for 57 years.
She is survived by daughter Dorothy Ellingson of Ada, Okla.; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Her daughter, Ethel Little, died before her.

Judith Aurora Bugayong
Services will be Friday for Judith Aurora Bugayong, who died Monday at Watsonville Community Hospital after a heart attack. She was 58.
Mrs. Bugayong was born in Hawaii, and had lived in Watsonville since 1978.
She was a housewife and mother who enjoyed crocheting and organizing family gatherings, most recently a Super Bowl party for more than 20 family members.
Mrs. Bugayong was most proud of her close-knit family, said her son Stephen.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Elpidio Bugayong of Watsonville; sons Stephen Bugayong of Yuba City, and Pete, Eddie and Ben Bugayong, all of Watsonville; daughter Clarissa Bugayong of Chico; brother Gerald Ungos of Watsonville; sisters Catherine Pasco and Gloria Savella, both of Hawaii, and Diane Gonzalez of Watsonville; and 10 grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. today at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel, 222 East Lake Ave., Watsonville.
The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Mehl’s chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Valley Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Valley Cemetery.
A reception will follow at the family home, 310 Sombra, in Watsonville.

David Leslie Wood
Services will be Saturday for David Leslie Wood, who died Saturday after a long illness. He was 66.
Mr. Wood was born in Coalinga and attended Coalinga High School. After high school, he served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and camping.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Patricia Wood of Santa Cruz; sons David Wood Jr. and Anthony Butt, both of Santa Cruz, and Kevin Butt of Las Vegas; daughters Annette Williams of Taft, Lisa Wood of Oklahoma, Lisa Hagist of Santa Cruz and Pamela Butt of Georgia; sisters Virginia Glazebrook of Santa Cruz and Linda Irvin of Taft; and brothers Bob Wood of Greenville and Donald Wood of Missouri.

No services will be held for Nettie Fridley, who died on Tuesday in Watsonville. She was 101.
Ms. Fridley was born in New Mexico when the state was still a territory. She had lived in the Watsonville area for 43 years.
She was a retired registered nurse.
She is survived by son Earl Rinehart of Simi Valley and daughter Marion E. Sylvia of Modesto.
