Services will be Tuesday for Ramon "Ray" Carrasco, who died Thursday at home in Santa Cruz after a lengthy illness. He was 57.
Mr. Carrasco was a native of Presidio, Tex., and had lived in Santa Cruz since 1986. He was a gentle person with a wonderful sense of humor, said his family. He loved music and collecting Western movies.
He is survived by wife Rosalinda Carrasco of Santa Cruz; daughters Melissa Carrasco and Melinda Flores of Odessa, Tex.; mother Andrea Carrasco of Odessa; mother-in-law Frances Jaquez, whom he considered his second mother; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; nine brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.
Friends may call at Santa Cruz Memorial Park Mission Chapel Monday from 1-8 p.m. A vigil will be held at the Chapel from 1-6 p.m., followed by a rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Chapel, followed by Burial at Santa Cruz Memorial Park.

Chester E. Mitchell
No services are planned for Lt. Col. Chester E. Mitchell, who died Monday in Freedom. He was 96.
Mr. Mitchell was born in Lodi and lived in Watsonville for 55 years.
He was a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army and graduated from Tank Officers School, Chemical Warfare School, and Command and General Officers School.
During World War II he was at the invasion of Normandy and the battle for the Brest Peninsula, where he was injured, leading to his retirement in 1945.
Mr. Mitchell served with the California National Guard and was director of the California High School Cadet Corps. He was assistant director of the California State Civil Defense, Central Coast Region.
Mr. Mitchell established the Central Coast Farm Labor Assignment in Watsonville and served growers in five counties under the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bracero Program.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Watsonville, Sacramento Scottish Rites Bodies, Past Toparch, Pyramid Number 16 Sciots of Watsonville, Sons of the American Revolution, and the Watsonville Elks Lodge.
Mr. Mitchell was a charter member of Sons in Retirement and was former president of the Pajaro Valley Shrine Club.
He is survived by daughter Sharon Lee Canham of Watsonville; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Friends may call 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Friday at Davis Memorial Chapel. Private Burial will be at the Pajaro Valley Mausoleum.

Roberta R. Moulton
At her request, private family services will be later for Roberta R. Moulton, who died Sunday at Dominican Hospital. She was 69.
Mrs. Moulton was born in Hanford, lived seven years in Penn Valley and 24 years in Santa Cruz. She graduated from Castilleja High School in Palo Alto and Stephens College in Columbia, Miss.
Mrs. Moulton was a volunteer for special-education students. She enjoyed knitting and visiting friends.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Kenneth Moulton of Santa Cruz; daughter Laura Herman of Penn Valley; son Leland Moulton of Santa Cruz; mother Ester Rice of Fortuna; brothers William Rice of Hydesville, James Rice of Montague, and John Rice of Kneeland; and two grandchildren.
Arrangements are by Santa Cruz Memorial Park and Funeral Home.

Christopher T. Fetty
Services are April 20 for Christopher Todd Fetty, who died April 4 in Woodinville, Wash. He was 30.
Mr. Fetty was born in Santa Cruz and moved to Woodinville in 1991. He attended Santa Cruz Gardens, Del Mar Middle School, and Soquel High School.
Mr. Fetty had worked on commercial fishing boats in Alaska for the past seven years.
He enjoyed baseball, soccer, surfing, skateboarding and the ocean.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather Patricia and Glen Coley of Santa Cruz; father and stepmother James and Laurel Fetty of Woodinville; brothers Patrick Fetty of Monroe, Wash., and Brian Fetty of Woodinville; grandmother Dorothy Gledhill of Grove City, Fla.; five nieces; two nephews; four aunts; and four uncles.
Services are 7 p.m. April 20 in Woodinville.

Frances M. Slye
At her request, no services are planned for Frances M. Slye, who died Wednesday at Dominican Hospital. She was 82.
Mrs. Slye was born in Chicago and moved to Santa Cruz in 1985.
She is survived by son James L. Talley of Santa Cruz; sister Sharon L. Talley of Santa Cruz; and a grandson.
Her husband, Otto Slye, died in 1974.

Helen Lucille Moore
Services are Friday for Helen Lucille Moore, who died Monday at Pacific Coast Manor in Capitola. She was 89.
Mrs. Moore was born in Colorado, and lived in Watsonville for more than 62 years before moving to Capitola last year. She was a registered nurse at Dominican Hospital for 20 years.
Mrs. Moore was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the First Baptist Church of Watsonville. She enjoyed horseback riding. Mrs. Moore owned Tennessee walking horses.
She is survived by brother William Tarkington of Watsonville and sister Ila Schmidt of Freedom.
Services are 10 a.m. Friday at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park.

Clarence Hargraves
Services will be private for Clarence M. Hargraves, who died Monday in Merced. He was 93.
Mr. Hargraves was born and lived in Santa Cruz for 68 years before moving to Merced in 1975.
He graduated from Santa Cruz High School, where he was on the track, football, basketball and baseball teams.
Mr. Hargraves was a meter reader for Pacific Gas & Electric Co. for 25 years. He owned the Live Oak Rock Shop for five years.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Cora Adelaide Hargraves of Merced; daughters Audrey Macha of Merced and Beverly Trefts of Vancouver, Wash.; six grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are by Ivers and Alcorn Funeral Home, Merced.

Hazel Tomlin Arneal
Services were private for Hazel Tomlin Arneal, who died March 23 at the Odd Fellows Care Facility in Saratoga. She was 90.
Mrs. Arneal was born in Ontario, Canada, and lived in Santa Cruz for 25 years. She graduated from Santa Cruz High School in 1928 and moved to Saratoga in 1956.
She is survived by grandson Kevin Arneal and granddaughter Christi Arneal.
Her husband, Clark R. Arneal, died in 1978, and son Clark R. Arneal Jr., died last year.
