Services were held in Carmichael for Santa Cruz native Susan "Susie" Marie Lee, who died March 8 in Sacramento, where she moved three months ago. She was 51.
Mrs. Lee and her twin brother, Tim, were born at Santa Cruz Hospital, and she lived in Santa Cruz most of her life. She was a single mother of four children, the youngest of whom is 13.
Mrs. Lee was a homemaker who worked many jobs and always aspired to be a writer. She wrote good short fiction and romance stories and was a great cook, family members say.
Mrs. Lee died after new medication she was taking for pain caused her to slip into a coma. She had suffered severe chronic pain since having spinal surgery 14 years ago, family members say.
She is survived by a brother, Timothy R. Lee of Virginia; a son, Timothy R. Lee of Sacramento; daughters Corrina and Halena Coronado, both of Sacramento and Andrea Aguirre of Virginia; her mother, Helen A. Lee of Redding; her father, James P. Lee of Santa Cruz; sisters Patsy Williams of Redding, Nancy Lee of Santa Cruz, Mary Ann Yung of Santa Cruz and Laurie Lee of Santa Cruz; brothers John P. Lee of Santa Cruz and Thomas M. Lee of Santa Rosa; one granddaughter; one grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
Contributions are preferred to a fund to help her youngest daughter, care of Tim R. Lee, 209 Birch St. NE, Leesburg, VA 20176.
Arrangements are by Lind Brothers Mortuary.

Belen Garcia
Services are today for Belen Garcia, who died Friday at a Watsonville convalescent hospital. She was 70.
Mrs. Garcia was born in Ontario and lived in the Watsonville area for 47 years.
She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and volunteered for the American Red Cross and Watsonville High School’s boosters and band boosters clubs. She also cared for a blind friend for 30 years.
Mrs. Garcia is survived by her husband of 47 years, Louie Garcia of Watsonville; sons Joe Garciacano of San Francisco, Steven Garcia of Thousand Oaks and Rene Garcia of Moraga; sisters Mary Navarette, Mary Lou Castaneda and Ortie Cota, all of Gilroy; and five grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. today at St. Patrick’s Church, 721 Main St., Watsonville.
Burial will follow at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park.
Arrangements are by David Memorial Chapel.

Harold E. Weaver
Services will be Thursday for Harold E. Weaver, who died Thursday. He was 95.
Mr. Weaver was born in Salinas and had lived in Santa Cruz County for 26 years.
He was a member of Capitola Community Church, where, after ordination in his late 80s, he served as assistant minister. He was a member of the Masons for 50 years. He was active in the San Lorenzo Valley Senior Center and later served as treasurer of the Mid-County Senior Center.
He taught bridge and completed tax returns for seniors.
He served as U.S. Navy officer during World War II.
He is survived by son Lewis Bobbitt; daughter Erma Laws; seven grandchildren’ and five great-grandchildren.
His wife, Geania Weaver, died before him.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Norman’s Family Chapel, 3620 Soquel Drive, Soquel. Burial follows at Oakwood Memorial Park. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Norman’s.

Josephine Alberta Repass
Services will be later for Josephine Alberta Repass, who died Thursday . She was 95.
Mrs. Repass was born in the Oklahoma Territory.
She is survived by a son, Charles Daniel Repass of San Jose; daughters Juanita Matoush of Capitola and Edith Cotter of Santa Cruz; 22 great-grandchildren and five great, great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Herbert Repass, son Herbert Repass Jr. and brother Fred Calhoon died before her.
Arrangements are by Norman’s Family Chapel.

Jerry Marc Deets
Services will be Friday for Jerry Marc Deets, who died last Thursday at his Live Oak home. He was 54.
Mr. Deets was born in Denver.
He was a world-class wheelchair athlete and advocate for the rights of the disabled. He was inducted into the Wheelchair Sports Hall of Fame in 2000.
He graduated from Broomfield High School in Colorado and the University of Southern California. He managed the Ultramar gas station on Frederick Street and Soquel Avenue. He was a member of the Wheelchair Sports USA and Far West Regionals boards of directors and Santa Cruz Bible Church.
He is survived by wife Lori Wunder-Deets of Live Oak; daughters Tiffany, Tami and Cassie Deets of Live Oak; brother John Deets of Atlanta; sisters Pat Thompson of Mesa, Colo., and Desa Webb; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Santa Cruz Bible Church, 440 Frederick St., Santa Cruz. Norman’s Family Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
A fund has been established to offset funeral and medical expenses. Contributions may be made to account No. 394-430-539-6, at Washington Mutual Bank, 730 Ocean St., Santa Cruz.

Marie L. Tauscher
Services will be Friday for Marie L. Tauscher, who died Monday at her Sunnyvale home. She was 96.
Mrs. Tauscher was born in San Francisco and lived in Watsonville most of her life.
She worked on the line at the Green Giant Cannery for nine years. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, St. Patrick’s Altar Society and St. Isabel’s Portuguese Lodge.
She is survived by daughter Theresa Tauscher of Sunnyvale; great-nephews John Bobeda of Watsonville and Richard Crippen of Florida; great-nieces Sandy Crippen of Watsonville and Colleen Spinetti of Hollister; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Brother Nick Lutich and niece Nicholine Crippen died before her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick’s. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma. Friends may visit from 3 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel, 222 East Lake Ave., Watsonville. A Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Mehl’s.

Alice G. Hodges
Services will be March 30 for Alice G. Hodges, who died March 13 at her Aptos home. She was 85.
Mrs. Hodges was born in Portland, Ore. She graduated from Grant High School in Portland in 1934 and marriage Glendon R. Hodges in 1937. The pair lived in Menlo Park before retiring in Aptos in 1974.
Mrs. Hodges was active in the Sierra Club Senior Saunter Hikes, a book review club, Spanish class and creative writing class. She supported many animal-rights organizations and was founder of Pets in Need, a Redwood City-based animal rights organization. She also enjoyed music, hiking and dancing.
Mrs. Hodges is survived by daughter Evelyn Keele of Menlo Park; sons Gregory of Aptos and Glen of Menlo Park; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Her husband Glendon died before her.
Services will be 11 a.m. March 30 at the Congregational Church of Soquel at 3159 Soquel Drive.

Raymond ‘Butch’ Moore
Services will be Saturday for Raymond "Butch" Moore, who died March 16 in Truckee. He was 36.
Mr. Moore was born in Los Angeles County and raised in El Monte. He moved to Santa Cruz County in 1983 after graduating from Arroyo High School in El Monte. In 1992, he moved to Truckee.
Mr. Moore worked as a cook at El Toro Bravo and as a bartender at the Tourist Club in Truckee.
He attended Assumption Catholic Church in Truckee.
He enjoyed snowboarding and riding his motorcycle. His family said he also loved surfing with his cousin Trini Elleston of Capitola.
He is survived by his mother, Lillian "Cookie" Rey of El Monte; his father, Raymond Moore of Sparks, Nev.; sister Pamela Caro of Rancho Cucamonga; brothers Gus Ortiz of Garden Grove, Bobbie Moore of Truckee and Russel Moore of El Monte.
His brother, Rick Ortiz, died in 1978.
Memorial services are noon Saturday at Assumption Catholic Church, 10116 E. St. in Truckee. It was Mr. Moore’s wish that he be cremated.
Contributions are preferred to the Annie Guzman Scholarship Foundation at Truckee High School.
Arrangements are by Truckee-Tahoe Mortuary, 10126 Church St. in Truckee.
