Private services will be held for Edward Nicholas King, who died Saturday in Santa Cruz. He was 69.
Mr. King was an Oakland native who moved to Santa Cruz in 1942. He graduated from Boulder Creek High School in 1950, served in the Navy during the Korean War and worked for 20 years as an electronics technician for Lockheed Martin in Mountain View.
Mr. King was a member of the American Legion and Holy Cross Church. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, bingo and all sports.
Mr. King is survived by sisters Mary Greenwood of Capitola and Fenneri Pannetta of San Francisco; brothers Samuel of Santa Cruz and Charles of Ben Lomond; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jorge Luis Pimentel
Services are Friday for Jorge Luis Pimentel who died Tuesday at his Watsonville home from cancer. He was 34.
Pimentel was born in Michoacan, Mexico, and had lived in Watsonville for the past 13 years. He was a member of Valley Catholic Church and was a self-employed carpenter.
He is survived by his wife of two years, Guadalupe Pimentel of Watsonville; sons Jorge Pimentel Jr. and Christopher Pimentel, both of Watsonville; mother Victoria Valencia of Watsonville; brother Jesus Pimentel of Watsonville; sisters Maria Victoria Barajas of Watsonville, Ana Elizabeth Pimentel and Lourdes Pimentel, both of Selma.
A rosary will be held at 8 p.m. today at Valley Catholic Church in Watsonville. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. today at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel and again from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Valley Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Valley Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Valley Cemetery.

Thomas C. Hunt
Services will be Friday for Thomas C. Hunt, who died Monday at Dominican Hospital. He was 66.
Mr. Hunt lived in Santa Cruz County for 26 years.
He is survived by his wife, Lynne.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Friday at the First Congregational Church in Santa Cruz.
Private Burial will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park.

Celeste Morais
The rosary will recited Friday for Celeste Morais, who died Tuesday at her home in Santa Cruz after a long illness. She was 85.
Mrs. Morais was born in Sao Jorge Island in the Azores. She moved to Santa Cruz from Angola with her daughters in 1977 to escape Angola’s civil war.
She was a longtime member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
Mrs. Morais is survived by daughters Sao Costa of Turlock, Fatima Salavisa of Santa Cruz and Lourdes Rocha of Santa Cruz, as well as four grandchildren. Her husband, Antonio Morais, died in 1992.
The rosary will be recited Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 515 Frederick St., Santa Cruz. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mary E. Jorgensen
Services were held for Mary E. Jorgensen, who died Sunday in Santa Cruz. She was 80.
Mrs. Jorgensen was born in Frazier, Mo., and moved to Santa Cruz in 1968.
Mrs. Jorgensen was a waitress in Santa Cruz and Fresno for many years. Her hobbies included cooking, gardening and reading. She also enjoyed the holidays.
Mrs. Jorgensen is survived by her companion of 40 years, Clarence Souza of Santa Cruz; daughter Billie Mae Elliott of Sacramento; son Lon Jorgensen of Albany, Ga.; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were Wednesday at Oakwood Memorial Park.

Miguel Rodriguez Jr.
Services are today for Miguel Rodriguez Jr., who died of cancer Sunday at his Watsonville home. He was 26.
Mr. Rodriguez lived in Watsonville all his life. For four months, he worked for State Electric Generator in Santa Cruz. Prior to that, he spent three years as an assistant manager at an Ace Hardware store.
Mr. Rodriguez enjoyed golfing, playing sports and hanging out with friends. He graduated from Watsonville High School in 1994.
He is survived by fiancee Laura Ramos of Watsonville; sisters Ana and Laura Rodriguez of Watsonville; parents Miguel Rodriguez, Sr., and Hortencia Ortiz of Watsonville; and grandparents Saturnino Ortiz and Beatriz Gonzalez, and Clemantina Gamez, all of Mexico.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at Valley Church. Burial will follow at Valley Cemetery.

Charlotte R. Bradbury
No services are planned for Charlotte R. Bradbury, who died Thursday in Watsonville of natural causes. She was 88.
Mrs. Bradbury was born in Seattle, and moved to Watsonville six years ago. She was a retired administrative assistant to the dean of admissions at Orange Coast College.
Mrs. Bradbury is survived by son Dr. Edward Bradbury of Aptos; daughter Jan Davisson of Annapolis, Md.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Andrew Jackson McCullar
Private services will be Saturday for Andrew Jackson McCullar, who died Thursday at the Carson Convalescent Center in Carson City, Nev. He was 84.
Mr. McCullar was born in Oklahoma. He lived in Santa Cruz for 40 years before moving to Modesto in 1997. He moved to Carson City in 2000.
Mr. McCullar served in the U.S. Army. He was a vulcanizer in Santa Cruz for many years.
He is survived by daughters Janie Lee Jackson of Dayton, Nev., and Theda Mae Jones and Jacqueline Lee Carpenter, both of Modesto; brother Grover McCullar of Shawnee, Okla.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
His wife Althea Mae McCullar, brothers Archie and Virgil McCullar, sisters Pearl Collins and Callie Hartless, grandson Russell Andrew Jones and granddaughter Debra Lynn Burkes died before him.
Private services are Saturday in Modesto.

Einar L. Wayne
Services are today for Einar L. Wayne, who died Thursday in Watsonville. He was 92.
Mr. Wayne was born in Virginia, Minn. He lived in Los Angeles for 35 years before moving to Watsonville six years ago.
Mr. Wayne was a retired vice president of Crocker National Bank in Los Angeles. He played the piano and the violin, and was an avid swimmer and bicyclist.
He is survived by daughter Joyce Smalling of Watsonville; son Ken Wayne of Saratoga; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
His wife, Elaine Wayne, died in 1998.
Services are at 2:30 p.m. today at Valley Public Cemetery, Watsonville.
Arrangements are by Davis Memorial Chapel.

Lavena V. Passarino
Services will be Wednesday for Lavena V. Passarino, who died Saturday at her Watsonville home. She was 78.
Mrs. Passarino lived in Oklahoma until 1942, when she moved to Watsonville.
Mrs. Passarino was a member of Arthur Road Baptist Church in Watsonville, former co-owner of the Bake-Rite bakery in Watsonville with her late husband Frank, and a former baker for the Pajaro Valley School District.
Mrs. Passarino enjoyed gardening, reading and bird watching.
She is survived by daughters Kathryn Collins of San Rafael and Shirley Rouge of Sacramento; sisters Opal Powell of Lebannon, Ore., and Imogene Saunders and Evelyn Williams, both of Duncan, Okla.; and three grandchildren.
Her husband Frank Passarino died before her. Her brother R.B. "Buck" McManus died Sunday in Oklahoma.
Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel with services at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Pajaro Valley Memorial Park.
Contributions are preferred to Arthur Road Baptist Church, 360 Arthur Road, Watsonville, CA 95076.
