Services will be Thursday for Robert Youngblood, who died Sunday at his Pasatiempo home. He was 73.
Mr. Youngblood was born in Michigan and had lived in Santa Cruz for more than 24 years.
He loved life, his family says, and enjoyed golfing, fly fishing, wine-making and the arts.
Mr. Youngblood was a member of Pasatiempo Golf Club and The Foodsters.
He is survived by his wife, Dalva Youngblood; sons Brent, Kevin and David Youngblood; and five grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Cross Church, 126 High St., Santa Cruz.

Barbara Shanahan
Services will be Saturday for Barbara Shanahan, who died Friday in Ramona. She was 68.
Mrs. Shanahan was born in Cambridge, Mass., and lived in Aptos for 15 years. She worked at Sears in Capitola Mall.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Shanahan of Ramona; sons David Anthony Shanahan of Ramona, Mark Joseph Shanahan of Poulsbo, Wash., Robert Joseph Shanahan Jr. of Santa Cruz and Timothy Adams Shanahan of Elk Grove; sister Nancy Salazar of Reno; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Oakwood Memorial Park Crystal Chapel, 3301 Paul Sweet Road.

John C. Greeley
Services will be Nov. 23 for John C. Greeley, who died Sunday at Watsonville Community Hospital. He was 59.
Mr. Greeley was born in Hillsboro, Wis. He moved to San Francisco in 1968, to Santa Cruz in the 1970s, and then to Watsonville.
Mr. Greeley graduated from Hillsboro High School and earned a Carnation Scholarship before attending the University of Wisconsin at Madison, Kenosha, Platteville and La Crosse.
He worked as a printer’s apprentice and photographer for the Hillsboro Sentry Enterprise from 1959-1961, under the tutelage of then-Editor/Publisher Edwin Shear, and then at various radio stations while attending college. Following graduation, he worked as a student recruiter for Viterbo College in La Crosse.
In San Francisco, Mr. Greeley became a self-employed antique dealer, then refinished furniture. He also bought, sold and repaired household and commercial appliances and equipment.
Mr. Greeley was also a fiction writer, penning poetry, articles and books, and had a life-long love of baseball and softball. He was on a fast-pitch team that went to the World Championship tournament in Kaukauna, Wis., in the 1980s.
He is survived by daughter Amy Barker of Franklin, Tenn.; brother Jim Greeley of Richland Center, Wis.; sister Suzanne Mashak of Union Center, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be 6 p.m. Nov. 23 at the Furniture Barn, 1515 Commercial Way, Santa Cruz.

Elsie C. Habelt
Services will be Monday for Elsie C. Habelt, who died Monday at a retirement home in Corvallis, Ore. She was 91.
Mrs. Habelt was born in Electra, Texas, and was one of 10 children. She was raised in Fresno and lived in Brookdale for 55 years before moving to Oregon about 18 months ago.
She marriage Walter G. Habelt in Oakland in 1933.
Mrs. Habelt enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing bridge and gardening. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Santa Cruz.
She is survived by a son, Walter A. Habelt of Corvallis, Ore.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Walter G. Habelt, died in 2000. Her daughter, Kathleen Jensen, died in 1978.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo.

Urmila Hannon
Services will be Friday for Urmila Hannon, who died Monday. She was 63.
Mrs. Hannon was born and raised in Ahmedabad, India, and moved to Santa Cruz County in 1976, living first in Aptos, then in Boulder Creek and in Scotts Valley.
She earned a master’s degree in archaeology and worked as a museum curator in India, where she met her future husband. The couple marriage six years later, in 1973.
She is survived by husband Brian; son Milan; brother Jitendra Vyas of Santa Cruz; two brothers and one sister in India; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Santa Cruz Memorial Park, 1927 Ocean St., Santa Cruz.

Rodrigo G. Gutierrez
Services will be Friday for Rodrigo G. Gutierrez, who died Tuesday in Salinas. He was 48.
Mr. Gutierrez was born in Mexico and lived in Castroville. He had lived previously in the Watsonville area for almost 20 years.
Mr. Gutierrez worked for Tri Valley Trucking and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by wife Lorena Gutierrez of Castroville; mother Amanda Gutierrez of Mexico; daughters Yusdivia, Daisy and Sulema Gutierrez, all of Castroville; brother Nester Gutierrez of Florida; sisters Diega, Felipa and Antonia Gutierrez, all of Mexico; and a grandson.
Friends may call 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. today and 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at Davis Memorial Chapel, 609 Main St., Watsonville.
A rosary service will be at 7 p.m. tonight at the chapel.
Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at St. Patrick’s Church in Watsonville.
Mr. Gutierrez will be buried at Pioneer Cemetery.

Donald E. Fisher
Services will be Saturday for Donald E. Fisher, who died Oct. 31 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Palo Alto. He was 53.
Mr. Fisher was born in Wyoming and raised in Madera. He lived in Santa Cruz for the past 17 years.
He graduated from Madera High School in 1967 and served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Fisher owned a business, Sycamore Yard and Maintenance Service, for 10 years.
He was a devout Catholic who attended Mass daily and was active in several parishes. He also enjoyed music.
He is survived by stepfather Ron Meeks Sr. of Madera and brother Ron Meeks of Big Sur.
A rosary service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Shrine of St. Joseph Guardian of the Redeemer, 544 West Cliff Drive, Santa Cruz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the shrine.
Services with military honors were held at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine.

Dorothy M. Hansen
Services will be Nov. 23 for Dorothy Margaret Hansen, who died Tuesday at Dominican Hospital. She was 84.
Mrs. Hansen was born in Hibbing, Minn., and lived in the San Lorenzo Valley since 1955.
She enjoyed fishing and following baseball and was an avid fan of the San Francisco Seals, and later of the Giants. In more recent years, she enjoyed daily walks with her friends at the park in Felton.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, William "Al" Hansen of Ben Lomond; daughter Corey Livingston of Santa Cruz; two grandsons; and two great-grandsons.
Services will be 2 p.m. Nov. 23 at Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga St., Santa Cruz.
After cremation, her ashes will be taken to Felton Cemetery.
