Services will be Dec. 7 for Walter H. Naef, who died Wednesday in Santa Cruz. He was 98.
Mr. Naef was born in New York City.
He went to sea at a young age, traveling from New York, then ‘‘around the Horn’’ to Alaska before settling in San Francisco, where he lived for many years. He lived in Capitola for 35 years.
A lifelong salesman, he was instrumental in founding David Ledyard Restaurant Supply in Santa Cruz. He later worked for Coast Paper Supply.
Mr. Naef was a lapidary and also enjoyed various crafts.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Norma Naef of Capitola; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews in Capitola, Watsonville and the East Bay.

Pascacio ‘Okie’ Martin
Services will be Saturday and Monday for Pascacio "Okie" Martin, who died Wednesday at his home in Watsonville. He was 76.
Mr. Martin was born in San Juan de Los Lagos, Mexico, and lived in Watsonville since 1946.
He retired from Green Giant Frozen Foods after 25 years working as a forklift driver and spent the rest of his life enjoying his family, friends and garden.
He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Carmen Martin of Watsonville; daughters Melody Ann Butler of Watsonville and Valerie Elaine Williams of Grass Valley; stepsons Jesse and Rafael Campos, both of Watsonville; stepdaughter Lourdes Campos of Watsonville; four brothers; five sisters; 12 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 12-9 p.m. Saturday at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel, 222 E. Lake Ave., Watsonville.
A rosary service will be 7 p.m. Saturday at Mehl’s.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady Help of Christians Valley Catholic Church.
Burial will follow at Valley Cemetery.

Jack Martin Lundy
Services are today in Oregon for Jack Martin Lundy, who died recently. He was 85.
Mr. Lundy was born and raised in Watsonville and moved to Portland in 1983.
He worked as a conductor for Southern Pacific Railroad for many years before retiring in 1978.
Mr. Lundy and his wife, Sadie, founded the Watsonville Band, and he was a leader in the local community and parade world.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge and Golden Rail Club, and was active at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Oregon.
He is survived by daughters Jolene Crouch, Sandy Hansen and Marti Lundy; 10 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. today at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Tigard, Ore.
Contributions are preferred to the American Heart Association.
Arrangements are by Skyline Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home of Portland.

Eleanor M. Pinkham
Services will be Monday for Eleanor Medina Pinkham, who died Monday at a local convalescent hospital. She was 90.
Mrs. Pinkham was born in Santa Cruz and attended Santa Cruz High School.
She marriage William F. Pinkham in 1945 and worked many years for Whitings on the Boardwalk and for Santa Cruz Growers.
She spent her life caring for others and was an excellent cook and seamstress, family members say. She enjoyed playing bingo.
She is survived by daughters Susan Meyer-Neumann of Santa Cruz and Sharon Hillman of Tucson, Ariz.; stepdaughter Dorothy Dodge of Santa Cruz; stepsons William V. Pinkham of Idaho and Robert A. Pinkham of Santa Cruz; a brother, Arthur Medina of Santa Cruz; sisters Isabel Bennett of South San Francisco and Florence Silva of Vallejo; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Her husband, William F. Pinkham, died in 1969.
Services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday at Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga St., Santa Cruz.

Margaret Salz Lezin
Services are Sunday for Margaret "Margie" Salz Lezin, who died Nov. 6 in her longtime home in Westside Santa Cruz. She was 78.
Mrs. Lezin, the wife of former Santa Cruz mayor Norm Lezin, was born in San Francisco in 1923. Her father started Salz Leathers with a partner in 1917.
Mrs. Lezin served on the city of Santa Cruz’s first Historic Preservation Commission.
She helped start the Community Foundation of Santa Cruz, Family Service Association and the Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History.
She was also a board member of the county Mental Health Advisory Board and Planned Parenthood and was chairwoman of the American Civil Liberties Union.
She is survived by husband Norm Lezin of Santa Cruz; daughter Jennifer Lezin of Palo Alto; sons Jeremy and Matthew Lezin of Santa Cruz; and eight grandchildren.
Services are 3 p.m. Sunday in the nondenominational Parish Hall at Holy Cross Church, 126 High St., Santa Cruz.

Virginia Struve Hudson
Services will be private for Virginia Struve Hudson, who died Sunday in San Francisco. She was 79.
Mrs. Hudson was born in New York City.
She lived in Sacramento and on the family farm in Watsonville as a child and then returned to Watsonville in the mid-1940s before moving to San Francisco in 1964.
She attended the Dominican Schools in San Rafael and graduated from Dominican Covenant Upper School in 1941.
She studied at Stanford University, where she met and marriage Frederick Rodgers Hudson Jr. of Watsonville.
Mrs. Hudson helped found the Watsonville Music and Art Association and was a life member of the Daughters of California Pioneers and a longtime member of the St. Francis Yacht Club.
She worked as an interior designer in San Francisco.
She is survived by son Frederick R. Hudson III of Watsonville; daughter Elizabeth H. Kenyon of Phoenix, Ariz.; two granddaughters; and one grandson.
Her husband of 48 years, Frederick Rodgers Hudson, Jr. died in 1990.
Arrangements are by Mehl’s Colonial Chapel.

Charn Kaur Singh
Services will be Saturday for Charn Kaur Singh, who died Oct. 31 at Stanford Medical Center. She was 70.
Mrs. Singh was born in Punjab, India, and lived in Watsonville for 11 years.
She is survived by her husband, Jeet Singh of Watsonville; sons Amrik Singh Basra of Watsonville and Nirmal Singh of India; daughter Evinder Dhillon of Watsonville; and seven grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. today at Davis Memorial Chapel, 609 Main St., Watsonville.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Davis Memorial Chapel, 1 p.m. at Soquel Cemetery and 2 p.m. at Sikh Temple in San Jose.
