Services will be Friday for Helen Nicholas Hrapoff, who died Friday. She was 50.
Ms. Hrapoff was born in Berkeley and lived in Boulder Creek for most of her life. She graduated from San Lorenzo Valley High School in 1970.
Ms. Hrapoff worked as a dental assistant and loved gardening, cooking, music and horses.
She is survived by her mother, Lydia Hrapoff of Boulder Creek; brothers Con Hrapoff of Ben Lomond and George Hrapoff of Arkansas; and one nephew.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Santa Cruz Memorial Park, 1927 Ocean St.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at the Serbian Cemetery, 1801 Hillside Blvd., Colma. Burial will follow.
Contributions are preferred to the Boulder Creek Fire Department.

Mark Anthony Cleveland
Services will be Thursday for Mark Anthony Cleveland, who died Friday. He was 32.
Mr. Cleveland was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, at an Air Force base where his father was stationed.
He lived in Scotts Valley for the past three years.
Mr. Cleveland worked as an ophthalmic photographer for Retinal Diagnostic Centers in Santa Cruz, Campbell and San Jose.
He was also a drummer in several rock bands in the Santa Cruz and San Diego areas, and last played for a band called Busters.
He is survived by his parents, Michael and Angelica Cleveland of San Diego, and a brother, Brian Cleveland of San Diego.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at San Augustin Catholic Church, 257 Glenwood Drive, Scotts Valley.
Arrangements are by Oakwood Memorial Chapel.

Lois Ruby Hille
Services will be Oct. 19 for Lois Ruby Hille, who died Sept. 22 at Kaiser Hospital in Santa Clara. She was 75.
Mrs. Hille was raised in Grass Valley and graduated from Grass Valley High School.
She lived in Santa Cruz for 25 years and owned Lois Hille Vacation Properties.
She is survived by her husband, Doran Hille of Santa Cruz; a daughter, Susan Woolsey of San Martin; and four grandchildren.
Her son, Michael Hille, died in 1997.
Services will be 1 p.m. Oct. 19 at Santa Cruz Bible Church.

Clyde B. Callen
Services will be Friday for Clyde B. Callen Sr., who died Saturday in Watsonville. He was 53.
Mr. Callen was born in Palo Alto and lived in Watsonville for 51 years.
He graduated from Watsonville High School in 1967 and served with distinction in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, earning the Combat Action Ribbon, the Vietnamese Campaign Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Rifle Experts Badge.
Mr. Callen worked as a truck driver for C-V Farms for 25 years, and for Tanimura & Antle for five years.
Family members say he enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest.
He is survived by his wife, Lolita Callen of Watsonville; sons Clyde B. Callen Jr., Scott C. Callen, Mark C. Callen and Nicholas J. Callen, all of Watsonville; daughters Julie Baniaga, Lori Callen and Sara Callen, all of Watsonville; a sister, Gayle Kathleen Callen of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today at Davis Memorial Chapel, 609 Main St., Watsonville.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Green Valley Christian Center, 376 S. Green Valley Road, Watsonville.
Burial with military honors will be at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park.
Contributions are preferred to the family.

Dino Ceschi
Services will be private for Dino Ceschi, who died last Thursday at a local convalescent hospital. He was 88.
Mr. Ceschi was born in San Mateo. He moved with his family to Corralitos as a boy and graduated from Watsonville High School before serving in the Army during World War II.
After the service, he began working as a butcher at the former Walti Schilling Co. in Santa Cruz, where he stayed until retirement.
He was a member of the Santa Cruz Elks Lodge and the Marconi Club.
He is survived by a daughter, Susan Cobun.
Cremation arrangements are by Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel.

Richard C. Blaney
Family services were private for Richard "Dick" Chandler Blaney, who died Thursday in Sandpoint, Idaho. He was 79.
Mr. Blaney was born in Quincy, Mass., and graduated from Quincy High School.
He lived in Santa Cruz for seven years and in the Watsonville area from 1952 to 1989. Mr. Blaney worked as a heavy-duty mechanic and retired from Granite Construction in 1984.
After retirement, he and his wife, Lorraine, logged more than 60,000 miles traveling in their fifth-wheel trailer before settling in East Hope, Idaho, in 1989.
As a young man, Mr. Blaney served with the Civilian Conservation Corps and worked for Four Rivers Shipyard before joining the Navy Seabees in 1943 and serving 26 months in the South Pacific.
He marriage Lorraine Stacy in 1945 in Hayward.
Mr. Blaney was a past exalted ruler of the Watsonville Elks Lodge and member of the Masonic Lodge Scottish Rite, Shriners and the Operating Engineers.
He enjoyed traveling, fishing, woodworking and gardening, and loved his grandchildren and his two cats.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Blaney of East Hope, Idaho; daughters Joanne Vantine of Sacramento and Linda Jolley of Santa Cruz; a sister, Eunice Clark of Concord, N.H.; two grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.
Contributions are preferred to Hospice Care at Bonner County Hospital.

Andrea Adoria Arnold-Rice
Services will be Monday for Andrea Adoria Arnold-Rice, who died Wednesday in her Santa Cruz home of cancer. She was 46.
Mrs. Rice was born in Santa Cruz and attended Mission Hill Junior High and Santa Cruz High schools. She played clarinet in the school band.
Mrs. Rice worked as a nursing assistant, specializing in home care.
She was a carefree and independent woman, family members say.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Rice of Santa Cruz; a son, Devon Walker of Santa Cruz; a daughter, Housten Buffington of Santa Cruz; her mother, Mary Arnold of Santa Cruz; sisters Barbara Bedford of Soquel and Aloma Ward of Aptos; brothers Stanley and Russell Arnold, both of Santa Cruz and Anthony Arnold of Soquel; and one grandson.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Mission Chapel at Santa Cruz Memorial Park, 1927 Ocean St., at Graham Hill Road.

Berniece ‘Necy’ Hales
Services will be Monday for Berniece "Necy" Hales, who died recently at a San Jose convalescent hospital. She was 84.
Mrs. Hales owned and taught at Mopetts Preschool in Menlo Park for 33 years.
She moved to Aptos after she retired and operated a boutique shop in her home, where she specialized in decorative eggs sold in several local floral shops.
She was a member of Friends of Hospice and the Parent Teachers Association.
She is survived by a son, Nat "Ned" Hales of San Jose; a daughter, Eva Rode of Santa Clara; sisters Eva Murray and Katheryn Martin, both of Dinuba; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Nat E. Hales, died before her.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga St., Santa Cruz.
The family asks that any flowers be sent to the chapel.
