Services were held for Clarence T. Cornelison, who died Monday at a local convalescent hospital. He was 101.
Mr. Cornelison, who lived in three centuries, was born in Bethany, Mo., and lived in Watsonville for the past 14 years. He was retired from Lick Observatory.
He had no known family.
Services were Thursday. He was buried at Pioneer Cemetery.

Allen Lewis Morelli
Services are out of town for Allen Lewis Morelli, who died Wednesday in Hilo, Hawaii, of an AIDS-related illness. He was 45.
Mr. Morelli was raised in Pleasant Hill and lived for several years in Santa Cruz. He worked as an actor, director, producer, desktop publisher, photographer and artist. He was known for his sense of humor and lively imagination.
He is survived by his parents, Adrienne and Lee Morris of Medford, Ore.; sisters Gabriella Lancina of Murrieta, Kathy Parvizi of Davis, and Suzanne Ajir, Staci Morelli and Laurie Fanara of California; brother David Morris of Martinez; companion Michael Romack of Pahoa, Hawaii; and friend Pamela Fisher of Port Costa.
A memorial service is today in Hawaii.
Contributions are preferred to Big Island AIDS Project, Hilo, Hawaii.

Frank B. Clendenen
Services are Monday for Frank B. Clendenen, who died Aug. 18 at Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz. He was 78.
Mr. Clendenen was born in Pasadena and served in the Navy during World War II. He later earned a doctorate in engineering and taught at UC Berkeley and UC Davis.
He was considered an expert in water resources and served as consultant to the boards of various water districts and state agencies. He patented a low-cost, high-performance water filtration system in use throughout California. He enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing and football.
He moved to Santa Cruz from Auburn three years ago to be near his family.
He is survived by his sister, Norma; brother Rod; son Byron; and two grandchildren.
His mother, Amy, and brother, Bruce, died before him.
Graveside services are Monday at 2 p.m. at Santa Cruz Memorial Park.
Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel is handling arrangements.

Robert Warren Beck
No services are planned for Robert Warren Beck, who died Thursday in Santa Cruz. He was 80.
Mr. Beck was born in Rockford, Ill., and had lived in Santa Cruz County since 1955. After retiring as an accountant in San Jose, he worked for more than 12 years at Goodwill Industries. He was a member of the Barber Shop Society.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jean Beck of Santa Cruz; daughters Nancy Piestrup of Washington and Connie Davis of Boulder Creek; sons Thomas Beck of Santa Cruz and Richard Beck of San Jose; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Norman’s Family Chapel.

Robert F. Fields
Services will be Monday for Robert Floyd Fields, who died Friday at home. He was 70.
Mr. Fields was born in Claredon, Texas, and lived in Santa Cruz County for 46 years. He was a cook for 30 years and worked at Bee’s Coffee Shop in Santa Cruz.
He is survived by his wife, Pat McCullah of Santa Cruz; sisters Ruby Cosby of Watsonville, Pearl Chandler of Taft, Calif., and Marjorie Chandler of Soquel; sons Cameron Fields of Santa Cruz and Bill Fields of Petaluma; daughter Yvonne Johnson of Oregon; one granddaughter; and a great grandson.
Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Norman’s Family Chapel, 3620 Soquel Drive, Soquel. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Soquel Cemetery.
Norman’s Family Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Shalimar Bush
Services will be Friday for Shalimar Bush, who died Monday in Santa Cruz. She was 15.
Miss Bush was a Santa Cruz native who attended Natural Bridges Elementary, Mission Hill Junior High and Santa Cruz High schools.
She enjoyed singing the Santa Cruz High Choir and dancing. She won numerous awards for singing and writing. She also read her poetry on KUSP radio. In one poem, she called herself "Queen of the Universe" and "Performer," and said her mission in life was to bring peace to the world during our lifetimes.
Miss Bush is survived by mother and stepfather, Andrea and Antonio Munoz of Soquel; father Craig Bush of Santa Cruz; brothers Aaron and Tyrone Bush of Santa Cruz; and grandmother Aurora Vadori of Livonia, Mich.
Family and friends may call Friday from 1-4:30 p.m. at Santa Cruz Memorial Park Mission Chapel, 1927 Ocean St. Extension.
Services will be at 4:30 p.m. at the chapel.

Matthew Dennis Kryst
Services will be Sunday for Matthew Dennis Kryst, who died Monday at his Santa Cruz home. He was 43.
Mr. Kryst was born in Santa Cruz, grew up in Ben Lomond and returned to Santa Cruz in 1990. He graduated from San Lorenzo Valley High School in 1977.
Mr. Kryst was in the Army for 10 years. He worked for Santa Cruz County for 11 years. Mr. Kryst was a union shop steward for county employees.
He was a Star Trek enthusiast who enjoyed spending time with his children and visiting Ben Lomond.
He is survived by wife Karen Kryst of Santa Cruz; son Gabriel Kryst of Santa Cruz; daughter Tessa Kryst of Santa Cruz; mother Nancy Kryst of Arnold; brothers Barry Kryst of Aptos, Dan Kryst of Murphys, Terry Kryst of Ben Lomond, and Dale Kryst of Manteca; sister Norah Hogue of Pacifica; and several nieces and nephews.
His father, Richard Kryst, died in 2000, and brother Doug Kryst died in 1957.
Services are at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Santa Cruz. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial is at 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Stephen Dean Holman
Services will be Tuesday for Stephen Dean Holman, who died Wednesday at Dominican Hospital. He was 90.
Mr. Holman grew up in Oakland and moved to Santa Cruz County in the mid 1960s, settling in San Lorenzo Valley.
Mr. Holman worked many years in pneumatic tool manufacturing. He was a member of the San Lorenzo Valley Senior Center and of the Valley Gardens Seniors Golf Group. He enjoyed playing bridge, reading, gardening and watching sports.
He is survived by sons Jim Holman of Portland, Ore., Steve Holman and Dean Holman; daughter Patty Holman; sister Dorothy Gray of Mountain View; stepsons Richard and Robert Beardsley, both of Ben Lomond, and William Beardsley of Felton; several grandchildren and stepgrandchildren; one niece; and one nephew.
His wife, Irma Holman, died in 1998.
Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Felton Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel.

Michael Glenn Brown
Services are pending for Michael Glenn Brown, who died Tuesday at Stanford Medical Center. He was 47.
Mr. Brown was born in San Jose and had lived in Royal Oaks for 22 years. He worked for Operating Engineers Union for 25 years.
Mr. Brown was a member of the Operating Engineers Union, Ridge Runners Motorcycle Club and the Vega Road Water Association.
His parents, Kent and Rita Brown, died before him.
Donations are preferred to the American Diabetes Association.
Arrangements are by Davis Memorial Chapel.
