At his request no services will be held for Frank M. Fahey, who died Aug. 26 at his Novato home. He was 84.
Mr. Fahey was born in Seattle and moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1945. He lived in Santa Cruz County from 1985 to 2001.
Mr. Fahey earned a bachelor’s degree at the University of Washington and a doctorate in history at Stanford University in 1956.
He taught history at the College of San Mateo and Cañada College for 29 years, and he and his wife wrote several books on American history.
Mr. Fahey enjoyed a lifelong passion for reading, discussing historic and current events, following local sports teams, listening to music and spending time with family.
He is survived by a son, Jim Fahey of Arcata; daughters Sherry Zagunis of Novato and Cindy Firenzi of Scotts Valley; a sister, Cecile Chesley of Sacramento; and four grandchildren.
His wife of 50 years, Marie Fahey, died in 2001.

Delia Jude Campbell
Services will be Saturday for Delia Jude Campbell, who died Tuesday in South Jordan, Utah. She was 80.
Mrs. Campbell was born in Los Angeles and lived in Santa Cruz for 25 years before moving to Utah four years ago.
She served as a Navy Wave from 1944 to 1946, and in Santa Cruz, worked as a Century 21 real estate agent and volunteered at Dominican Hospital.
She is survived by daughters Patricia Campbell of South Jordan, Utah, and Alice Garey of Capitola; a son, James R. Campbell of Santa Cruz; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday at Santa Cruz Memorial Park Funeral Home, 1927 Ocean St.
Services will be noon Saturday at Santa Cruz Memorial.

Craig E. Winters
Services will be Saturday for Craig Edward Winters, who died Aug. 27 at his Aptos home. He was 41.
Mr. Winters enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, hunting, snowboarding and barbecuing with family and friends.
He is survived by his mother, Carole Winters of Aptos; a sister, Joyce Teese of Watsonville; one nephew; one niece; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Twin Lakes Church, Monschke Hall, 2701 Cabrillo College Drive, Aptos.

The Rev. Joseph Watt
Services will be Sept. 22 for the Rev. Joseph Watt, who died Aug. 13 at Freedom Manor. He was 72.
The Rev. Watt served as a priest on the Monterey Peninsula for many years, helped build Holy Eucharist Church in Corralitos and served at St. Joseph’s Catholic Community in Capitola in the mid-80s. He was last assigned to St. Angela’s.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Sept. 22 at St. Angela’s Church in Pacific Grove. A reception will be held after Mass in the church library.

Lori Tomberlin Crook
Services are today in Clear Creek for Lori Tomberlin Crook, who died Tuesday after an accidental overdose at her Westwood home. She was 39.
Mrs. Crook was born and raised in Pescadero and lived in Santa Cruz off and on for several years.
Her parents owned the Gazos Creek Beach House restaurant on Highway 1 near Pescadero.
Mrs. Crook graduated from Pescadero High School. She was a housewife and previously had worked as a waitress.
She enjoyed waterskiing and spending time at the ocean.
She is survived by her husband of two years, Brett Baker of Westwood; daughters Jennifer and Janell Crook of Oklahoma; a son, Charles Crook of Oklahoma; a stepdaughter, Ferne Williams of Reno; sisters Diana Defosse, Tammy Tomberlin and Anita Zavala, all of Westwood; parents Annabel Tomberlin of Sacramento and Jack Tomberlin of Westwood; five nieces; two nephews; one aunt; and one uncle.
Services are 5 p.m. today in Clear Creek.

Rita Fuentes
Services will be today for Rita Fuentes, who died Sunday at Community Hospital of Los Gatos. She was 33 and was diagnosed with cancer about one year ago.
Mrs. Fuentes was born and lived in Watsonville all of her life. She worked as a photo clerk for Walgreen Drugs for the past six years and belonged to Crossroads Community Church of God.
She is survived by a son, Johnny "Joe" Suarez of Watsonville; daughters Mary Frances Fuentes and Sanjuana and Inez Suarez, all of Watsonville; sisters Christina Fuentes of Los Angeles, Rachel Fuentes of San Jose and Alicia Caingles of Watsonville; her father, Henry Fuentes of the Monterey Bay area; a grandmother, Belen Leyson of Freedom; and two grandchildren.
Her mother, Mary Caingles, died in 1996; and her sons, Daniel Suarez and Carlos Fuentes Sabala, also died before her.
Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. today at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel, 222 E. Lake Ave., Watsonville and from 6-7 p.m. at Crossroads Community Church of God, 48 Atkinson Lane, Watsonville.

Charlotte R. Mason
Services will be private for Charlotte R. Mason, who died Friday at a local convalescent hospital. She was 93.
Mrs. Mason was born in Tulare and grew up in a number of California communities. She lived in Southern California for many years and in Santa Cruz for 20 years.
Mrs. Mason attended San Fernando High School, graduated from Escondido High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from UC Los Angeles in 1932 and a master’s from Occidental University.
She began her teaching career with the San Jacinto School District and resumed teaching in the Palos Verde Unified School District after her children were raised.
After the death of her husband, Mrs. Mason remarried and lived in many places in the western United States and in Costa Rica.
She was proud of her heritage as a Huguenot and Mayflower descendant, and family members say she was a positive person with a great sense of humor.
Mrs. Mason respected the environment and had an interest in natural history. She enjoyed needlework, crocheting and reading.
She is survived by a son, Rudi Wallat of Paso Robles; a daughter, Charlotte Ghigliazza of Santa Cruz; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Her husband, Horst Wallat, died in 1960, and her second husband, Silas "Max" Mason, also died before her.
Friends may call from 1-5 p.m. today at Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga St., Santa Cruz.
Private family services will be Wednesday.
Mrs. Mason will be buried at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Annie Armatis
Services will be Friday for Annie Armatis, who died Saturday at Mount Diablo Medical Center in Concord. She was 74.
Mrs. Armatis was born in Santa Cruz and lived here all of her life before moving to Brentwood last year.
She worked as a cancer data statistician at Dominican Hospital for 25 years.
Her hobbies included working in her greenhouse, where she grew flowers and vegetables from seed. Known in the Live Oak area as the "Rose Lady," at one point she had 562 rose bushes.
Mrs. Armatis also enjoyed needlework, especially counted cross-stitch and quilting.
She was a member of the Crafty Quilters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Brentwood and the Young Ladies Institute in Santa Cruz.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Strasser of Fresno; sons Stephen Armatis of San Jose and Jeffrey and Michael Armatis, both of Brentwood; sisters Rosaline Vasconcellos of Cameron Park and Josephine Bedard of Santa Cruz; one aunt; and 10 grandchildren.
Her husband of 50 years, Clifford Armatis, died in 1999.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Brentwood Funeral Home, with a rosary service at 7 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Heart Church.
Mrs. Armatis will be buried at Holy Cross Cemetery in Santa Cruz.
