Born Feb. 7, 1906, in Viking, S.D., she moved to Shasta County in 1998 from Roseville.
She was a clerk at a Fred Meyer department store for 15 years.
Survivors include daughters Nonnie Thompson of Redding, Doris Bowe of Milwaukie, Ore., and Inez Stienwack of Kissimmee, Fla.; brother Richard Woolley of Fargo, N.D.; sisters Martha Skeen of Carlsbad, N.M., and Ruby Paulk of Myers, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Kilburn died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center in Redding.
Born Oct. 6, 1912, in Caneyville, Ky., she moved to Shasta County in 1992 from Kingman, Ariz.
She was a homemaker, a teacher in Kentucky, a mother adviser of the Rainbow Girls, a past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, a Girl Scout troop leader, a member of the Lions Club and the Rebekah Lodge, all in Clayton.
Survivors include daughters Kay Lange of San Antonio and Jeannine Schnitzer of Anderson; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

REDDING - William ''Press'' Spann, 86, of Redding died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at Canyonwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Redding.

Born April 13, 1913, in Lake City, Ark., he moved to Shasta County in 1988 from La Verne.
He was a mechanic for Continental Can in Monrovia.
Survivors include wife Minnie of Shasta Lake; son Ronald of San Diego; daughters LaWanda Williams and Betty Kriezel, both of La Verne, Jackie Berry of Sonora, Patsy Paul of Bella Vista and Ann Hammond of Redding; sisters Ernestine Boyce of Oshkosh, Wis., and Imogene Smith of Castaic; 17 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

SHASTA LAKE - Services for Louis A. Mattos Jr., 65, of Shasta Lake will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Redding.

Mr. Mattos died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center in Redding.
Born Sept. 26, 1934, in Oxnard, he moved to Shasta County in 1970 from San Jose.
He was a bartender for 35 years and a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Survivors include wife Cathleen; daughters Michelle of San Francisco and Sara Ray of Redding; brothers Ralph of San Jose and Ray of Oregon; and one grandchild.

Mrs. Grote died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at Applewood Inn care center in Redding.
Born Aug. 31, 1924, in San Francisco, she moved to Shasta County in 1984 from Santa Monica.
She was a social worker for Department of Veterans Affairs for 15 years.
She is survived by sister Marion Darancehe of Anderson.

REDDING - Services for Leonard Joseph Hoffman, 75, of Redding will be at noon Thursday at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Redding.

The rosary will be recited at noon Thursday followed by a Mass at the church.
Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Palo Cedro.

Mr. Hoffman died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, at his residence.
Born Jan. 26, 1925, in Nealy, Neb., he moved to Shasta County in 1980 from Ojai.
He was an owner and operator of The Hut restaurant in Ojai and a member of the Optimist Club in Ojai.
Survivors include wife Maria; son Dave of Danville; daughters Susan Brandini of Bend, Ore., and Peggy Young of Glendora; brothers Raymond of Springfield, Ill., and Omer of Clearwater, Neb.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
