KELLOGG - Services for former Shasta Lake resident James W. Roberts, 61, of Kellogg, Idaho, will be Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kellogg.
Burial will be at Pinehurst Cemetery
in Pinehurst, Idaho.
Mr. Roberts died Friday, Nov. 19, 1999, in Kellogg.
Born July, 11, 1938, in Missoula, Mont., he was a longtime resident of Shasta Lake.
He was a truck driver.
Survivors include wife Debbie; sons Perry of Anderson, Jami and David, both of Florida, and Robbie and Willie, both of Kellogg; daughters Kimberly of Oklahoma and Roxanne of Shasta Lake; brothers Bob of Boise, Idaho, Albert of Redding, and Bud, Norman, and Leland, all of of Montana; and sisters Lila of Redding, Phyllis, of Antioch and Billie of Montana.
Donna Payne
REDDING - Services for Donna Rae Payne, 64, of Redding will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Redding Christian Fellowship.
The Rev. Bill Hendrix will officiate.
Mrs. Payne died Sunday, Nov. 21, 1999, at her residence.
Born Aug. 5, 1935, in Carneiro, Kan., she moved to Shasta County in 1960 from Inglewood.
She was a cafeteria assistant for the Shasta Union High School District in Redding and a member of the Redding Christian Fellowship.
Survivors include husband Louis; sons Michael of Anderson and Troy of Redding; daughter Rae Lyn Martin of Phoenix; sister Anita Funderburg of Sacramento; mother Ruby Corey of Redding; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Edith Perez
WILLOWS - Services for former Cottonwood resident Edith I. Jackson Perez, 86, of Willows will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at F.D. Sweet & Sons Funeral Chapel in Orland.
Mrs. Perez died Friday, Nov. 19, 1999, at Enloe Memorial Hospital in Chico.
Born Feb. 14, 1913, in Tenimo, Wash., she moved to Shasta County in 1947 and to Glenn County in 1991.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include husband Rudolph; son Michael Jackson of Cottonwood; daughter LeAnn Boggan of Willows; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by F.D. Sweet & Sons Funeral Chapel.
Tommy Armstrong
NORMAN - Former Shasta County resident Tommy Hershel Armstrong, 80, of Norman, Okla., died Monday, Nov. 15, 1999, in Norman.
Services have been conducted.
Burial was at Washington Cemetery
in Washington, Okla.
Born March 17, 1919, in Cleveland County, Okla., Armstrong formerly lived in Shasta County and Fort St. James, British Columbia.
He was a heavy equipment operator and land developer, a deacon and song leader for Goldsby Baptist Church in Goldsby, Okla., and a member of Berry Road Baptist Church in Norman.
Survivors include wife Frances; son Tommy of Tulsa, Okla.; daughters Sherryl Sandersfeld of Norman and Elizabeth McCoy of Amarillo, Texas; sisters Lucille Masters of Norman and Katherine Lassitter of Denton, Texas; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Arrangements are being handled by Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman.
John Sims
WOODBURN, Ore. - Former Redding resident John Albert Sims, 74, of Woodburn, Ore., died Saturday, Nov. 20, 1999, in Woodburn.
No services will be conducted.
Burial will be at Shingletown Cemetery.
Born Sept. 6, 1925, in Portland, Ore., he lived in Redding for 20 years before moving to Woodburn in 1997.
He was a truck driver for a sand and gravel company, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include wife Virginia; son John of Chico; daughters Louise of Chico and Bobbie Taylor of Redding; and five grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Cornwell Colonial Chapel in Woodburn.
Elwood Babel
REDDING - Services for Elwood Leroy Babel, 86, of Redding will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church on Eureka Way in Redding.
The Rev. William Gillis of the church will officiate.
Burial will be at Lawncrest Memorial Park in Redding.
Mr. Babel died Sunday, Nov. 21, 1999, at Canyonwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Redding.
Born Dec. 7, 1912, in Blunt, S.D., he moved to Shasta County in 1933 from South Dakota.
He worked for Goodwin Tire Service for 40 years and a was a member of First Baptist Church in Redding.
Survivors include wife Minnie; and sister Mae Key of Ketchikan, Alaska.

BURNEY - Services for John Robert Merkle, 70, of Burney will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Whitehurst Grim Funeral Chapel in King City.

Burial will be at King City District Cemetery.
Mr. Merkle died Sunday, Nov. 21, 1999, at Mayers Memorial Hospital in Fall River Mills.
Born Feb. 23, 1929, in King City, he moved to Shasta County in 1993 from his birthplace.
He was a painting contractor in King City.
Survivors include wife Peggy; sons John of Bakersfield and Tom of Weed; stepson Darold Rianda of Salinas; daughter Paula LaVelle of King City; stepdaughter Ginger Palmer of Greenfield; brothers Joe of Paso Robles, and William of Susanville; sister Juanita Bettiga of Salinas; and 10 grandchildren.
