ANDERSON - Services for Howard Leonard Kirchner, 75, of Anderson will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at McDonald's Redding Chapel.
Gary Dent, a family friend, will officiate.
Burial will be at Redding Cemetery.
Mr. Kirchner died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center in Redding.
Born May 9, 1924, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he moved to Shasta County in 1978 from Thousand Oaks.
He was a draftsman for Perma Lab Inc. in Thousand Oaks, worked for Livingston Industries in Redding for five years and was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
Survivors include wife Bobbie; son Randy of San Jose; daughter Linda of Anderson and Carol Di Bititetto of Ocala, Fla.; sister Ruth Barry of Clearwater, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by McDonald's Redding Chapel.
Charles Sumpter
REDDING - Services for Charles Thomas Sumpter, 71, of Redding will be at 3 p.m. today at McDonald's Redding Chapel.
The Rev. Mike Johnson of Shasta Baptist Church will officiate.
Mr. Sumpter died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, at his residence.
Born Sept. 30, 1928, in Durango, Colo., he moved to Shasta County in 1998 from Weaverville. He had lived in Trinity County for 25 years.
He was a fire captain for the State of California Forestry Division, a fire marshal for Trinity County for five years, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a member of the Redding Moose Lodge 1006 and Weaverville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7705.
Survivors include wife Katherine; sons Dennis of Yuma, Ariz., Gordon of Lancaster, Brad of Montgomery, Texas, and Danny of Redding; daughter Dorina Potter of Palmdale; brothers Edmond of Klamath Falls, Ore., and Cecil of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; sisters Margariette Young of Klamath Falls, Ore., Ida May McFarland of Salem, Ore., and Cindy Kelley of Irving, Texas; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by McDonald's Redding Chapel.

BURNEY - Services for Glenn Neil Collins, 74, of Burney will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Solid Rock Four Square Church in Burney.
His son, Randy Collins, will officiate.
Mr. Collins died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center in Redding.
Born Nov. 28, 1925, in Red Bluff, he moved to Shasta County in 1995 from Sebastopol.
He was a welder for Marvin Landplane Co.
Survivors include son Randy of Burney; daughters Carol Stevens of Burney, Vicky Petrucci of Sebastopol, and Sue Middleton of Fortuna; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.

William Smith
COTTONWOOD - Graveside services for William Bennett ''Willie'' Smith, 79, of Cottonwood will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cottonwood District Cemetery.
The retired Rev. Jessie French of the Church of Christ will officiate.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Anderson.
Burial will be at Cottonwood District Cemetery.

WEAVERVILLE - Services for William Burroughs, 74, of Weaverville will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Weaverville Church of the Nazarene.

Mr. Burroughs died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, at his residence.
Born May 10, 1926, in Burbank, he moved to Shasta County 10 years ago from Canoga Park.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, former owner and operator of a Unocal 76 station in Canoga Park, a past member of West Valley Christian Center in Canoga Park and a member of the Weaverville Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include wife Flo; sons Tom of Canoga Park and Rob of Cottonwood; daughters Lea Jefferis of Paso Robles, Anita Davenport of Leavenworth, Wash., and Sheri Barfoot of Brentwood, Tenn.; brothers Wesley of Fresno and Gary of San Jose; sisters Gayle Finley of Sacramento and Kathy Jo Brady of Parker, Colo.; mother Pauline of Fresno; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

RED BLUFF - Services for Thomas Hale Miles, 83, of Red Bluff will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Red Bluff.

Mr. Miles died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, at his residence.
Born Feb. 7, 1917, in Red Bluff, he was a lifetime resident of Tehama County.
He was vice president of Commander Industries in Red Bluff, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Red Bluff and a lifetime member of the Red Bluff Elks Lodge 1250.
Survivors include wife Leona; sons Robert of Guthrie, Okla., and Thomas of Cottonwood; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
