MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. - Former Redding resident Charlotte M. Green, 76, of Mountain Home, Ark., died Saturday, May 27, 2000, at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home.
Services have been conducted. Burial was at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery
in Mountain Home.
Born Dec. 28, 1923, in Kirkland, Wash., she moved to Mountain Home in 1992 from Redding.
She was an office manager with Consolidated Electric, and a member of First United Methodist Church in Mountain Home, Rebekah Lodge in Anderson, Baxter Regional Medical Center Auxiliary in Mountain Home and the Women of the Moose 1846.
Survivors include husband Robert; sons Robert Jr. of Kent, Wash., and Richard of Redding; daughter Sandra Bratton of Mountain Home; and seven grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
Arrangements are being handled by Kirby-Boaz Funeral Directors in Mountain Home.
R.D. Reynolds
REDDING - R.D. Reynolds, 80, of Redding died Sunday, May 28, 2000, at Redding Medical Center.
No services will be conducted.
Born Nov. 11, 1919, in Richland Springs, Texas, he moved to Shasta County in 1959 from Artesia, N.M.
He was an electrician for Champion International, and was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Redding Sheriff's Association.
Survivors include wife Carole; son Curtis of Redding; daughters Lisa Reynolds and Lori Truett, both of Redding; brothers Doyle of Waldron, Ark., and Leroy of Brownwood, Texas; sisters Nella Mae Jones and Thelma Jean Laird, both of Brownwood; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Arrangements are being handled by McDonald's Redding Chapel.
John Lick
HAYFORK - Memorial services for John A. Lick, 35, of Hayfork will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall in Hayfork.
Mr. Lick died Monday, May 29, 2000, in an automobile accident in Hayfork.
Born Sept. 24, 1964, in Arcata, he moved to Trinity County in 1965.
He worked for the U.S. Forest Service for one fire season and the Hayfork Feed Store for 18 years and was a member of the archery club in Hayfork.
Survivors include mother Bonnie of Hayfork; brothers James and Jerry, both of Hayfork; and sister Julie Weinzinger of Hayfork.
Arrangements are being handled by McDonald-Files Funeral Chapel in Weaverville.
Vida Smith
WEAVERVILLE - Graveside services for Vida A. Smith, 89, of Weaverville will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Weaverville Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith died Friday, May 26, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center in Redding.
Born Nov. 6, 1910, in Popejoy, Iowa, she moved to Trinity County in 1955 from the Los Angeles area.
She worked for Lockheed Aircraft in Burbank, owned several restaurants in the Los Angeles area and owned the Junction City Store, the Timber Lodge Restaurant in Douglas City, Babe's Beanery in Weaverville, the Weaverville Variety Store and Sew N Sew, a sewing notions store.
Survivors include son Jim Frazee of Weaverville; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by McDonald-Files Funeral Chapel in Weaverville.
Elizabeth Mertes
REDDING - Elizabeth Mertes, 76, of Redding died Sunday, May 28, 2000, at SunBridge Care Center for Redding.
No services will be conducted.
Burial will be at Williamette National Cemetery
in Portland, Ore.
Born Sept. 26, 1923, in Wisconsin, she moved to Shasta County in 1986 from Orange County.
She was a volunteer with the Pink Ladies at Mercy Medical Center in Redding for 11 years and a member of the Slow Bloomers Bowling Club at Shasta Lanes in Redding.
Survivors include son Keith of Milwuakie, Ore.; daughter Linda Clark of Shingletown; sister Peggy Neimann of Santa Ana; and one grandchild.
Arrangements are being handled by Anderson's Chapel in Anderson.
Alma Ospital
BURNEY - Services for Alma Teresa Ospital, 82, of Burney will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis Catholic Church in Burney.
The Rev. Eric Lofgren of the church will officiate.
Burial will be at Burney District Cemetery.
Mrs. Ospital died Sunday, May 28, 2000, at Mayers Memorial Hospital in Fall River Mills.
Born Nov. 28, 1917, in Stockton, she moved to Shasta County in 1950 from Hayfork.
She was an attendance clerk at Fall River Joint School District for eight years and co-owned Ospital Garage and Service in Burney for eight years with her husband.
Survivors include sons John and Gene, both of Burney; sister Rita Aniotzbehere of Stockton; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by McDonald's Burney Chapel.
Margaret Sampson
REDDING - Services for Margaret Estelle Sampson, 71, of Redding will be at 3 p.m. today at Anderson's Chapel in Anderson.
The Rev. Wendel Jansen will officiate.
Burial will be at Sumption Prairie Cemetery
in South Bend, Ind.
Mrs. Sampson died Friday, March 3, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center in Redding.
Born March 24, 1928, in Pikeville, Ky., she moved to Shasta County in 1995 from South Bend.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include sons Michael and Timothy, both of Redding, and Brian of Defiance, Ohio; daughter Deborah Jansen of Redding; brother Robert Petry of Biloxi, Miss.; sister Marcia Litteral of South Bend; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
