PRINEVILLE, Ore. - Former north state resident Scott Anthony Smith, 31, Prineville, Ore., died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000, at Oregon Health Science University in Portland, Ore.
Services have been conducted.
Burial was at Juniper Haven Cemetery
in Prineville.
Born Dec. 5, 1968, in Redding, he moved to Prineville in 1994 from Red Bluff.
He was a sander operator for American Pine Products.
Survivors include wife Mae Ann; parents Ken and Noreen of Red Bluff; and grandmothers Ila Tibbits and Myrl Richardson, both of Redding.

Betty Kemper
REDDING - Memorial services for Betty Kemper, 86, of Redding will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at First Christian Church in Redding.
The Rev. Heather Hennessey of the church will officiate.
Mrs. Kemper died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at Canyonwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Redding.
Born July 28, 1913, in Odebolt, Iowa, she moved to Shasta County in 1996 from Long Beach, Wash.
She was a secretary for Longview School District in Long Beach, a member of First Christian Church in Redding and Order of the Eastern Star in Odebolt.
Survivors include son Paul of Longview, Wash.; daughter Nancy Keller of Redding; brother Arloe Paul of Rancho Santa Fe; sister Gladys Wright of Portland, Ore.; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church Building Fund, 3590 Placer St., Redding, CA 96001.

W.E. 'Eddie' Roberts
WEED - Services for W.E. ''Eddie'' Roberts, 89, of Weed will be at 1:45 p.m. Friday at Mount Shasta Memorial Chapel in Mount Shasta.
The Rev. Henry DeGraaf of Grace Presbyterian Church in Weed and the Sisson Lodge 310 of Free and Accepted Masons will officiate.
Mr. Roberts died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center in Mount Shasta.
Born June 8, 1910, in Dunsmuir, he was a lifelong resident of Siskiyou County.
He was a teacher at Dunsmuir Elementary School, a teacher and principal of Weed Grammar School, superintendent of schools for Siskiyou County, a founder and builder of College of the Siskiyous, a child support coordinator, a member of the Weed Masonic Lodge, Yreka Elks Lodge, Siskiyou County Farm Bureau and a charter member of the Weed Lions Club.
He served as president of the California County Superintendents Association, Siskiyou County Board of Education, Weed Elementary School board and the College of the Siskiyous board of trustees; vice president of the Siskiyou County Health Planning Association, vice president and member of the board of directors for the Superior California Comprehensive Health Planning Association; was Weed Citizen of the Year in 1971 and president emeritus of the College of the Siskiyous.
Survivors include daughters Barbara Roberts Bazemore of Orangevale and Bev of Weed; brother Austin of Fremont; and two grandchildren.

Dorothy Wright
SHINGLETOWN - Graveside services for Dorothy Eleanor Wright, 83, of Shingletown will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Manton Cemetery.
Her family will officiate.
Mrs. Wright died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000, at Shasta Care Center in Redding.
Born Feb. 15, 1917, in San Rafael, she moved to Shasta County in 1958 from Paradise.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include son Tim of Burney; brother Paul Smith of Petaluma; and two grandchildren.

Rita Ault
REDDING - Services for Rita B. Ault, 85, of Redding will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday at the Redding Moose Lodge on Lake Boulevard in Redding.
Members of the Redding Moose Lodge 1006 will officiate.
Burial will be at Lawncrest Memorial Park in Redding.
Mrs. Ault died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at Canyonwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Redding.
Born Nov. 5, 1914, in Worcester, Mass., he moved to Shasta County in the late 1960s from Los Angeles.
She was a homemaker, a volunteer with the Shasta Senior Center and the Anderson Senior Center, a volunteer piano player at nursing centers in the Redding area and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Anderson.
Survivors include daughters Joyce Johnston of Redding and Noreen Dobbert of Antelope; brothers Richard Goyer of Shasta Lake and Victor Goyer of New York; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Anderson's Chapel in Anderson.
Albert Bramlet
HAYFORK - Services for Albert E. Bramlet, 91, of Hayfork will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall in Hayfork.
The VFW Post 9546 will officiate.
Visitation will be during the service.
Burial will be at Hayfork Cemetery.
Mr. Bramlet died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, at Trinity Convalescent Hospital in Weaverville.
Born May 14, 1908, in Chico, he moved to Trinity County in 1914 from his birthplace.
He was a logger for JG&D Logging and Hollenbeak Logging, both in Hayfork, for 25 years; he was also a rancher near McArthur for 12 years, a member of the VFW in Hayfork and a charter member of the Hayfork Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include son Charles of Hayfork; daughters Darlene of Fortuna and Alberta Holder of Toppenish, Wash.; stepdaughter Mitzi Babcock of Hayfork; sister Gertrude Patton of Peanut; numerous grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by McDonald-Files Funeral Chapel in Weaverville.
John Canali
REDDING - John Claude Canali, 72, of Redding died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center in Redding.
Private services will be conducted.
Burial will be at Lawncrest Memorial Park in Redding.
Born June 1, 1927, in San Francisco, he moved to Shasta County in 1993 from Sunnyvale.
He was a graphic artist for Fleming Foods for 30 years, a U.S. Navy Seabees veteran of World War II, a lieutenant and a motorcycle officer with the Menlo Park Police Department, and a past member of the Redding Moose Lodge 1006.
Survivors include wife Jeannette; sons Steve of Sunnyvale, Kevin of Manchester, Mich., and Brian of San Jose; daughters Paula Dorsey of Haysville, Kan., and Laura Labo of Happy Valley; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
