SHASTA LAKE - Services for Barratt W. Ray, 86, of Shasta Lake will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Mount Shasta Memorial Chapel in Mount Shasta.
The Rev. Ray Horst of Evangelical Free Church in Mount Shasta will officiate.
Visitation will be from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. today at Mount Shasta Memorial Chapel.
Burial will be at Mount Shasta Memorial Park.
Mr. Ray died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, at Canyonwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Redding.
Born Feb. 2, 1914, in Oakland, he moved to Siskiyou County in 1939 from Chico. He was a teacher at McCloud High School, a U.S. Navy veteran, and a member of Block C, Blue Keys, Epsilon Pi Tau and Delta Si Delta.
Survivors include Mike of Mount Shasta, Bob of Shasta Lake and Steve of Redding; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Marguerite Hanover
FAIRFIELD - Graveside services for former Trinity County resident Marguerite Loral "Peggy" Hanover, 82, of Fairfield will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Weaverville Cemetery.
Mrs. Hanover died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at her residence.
Born Jan. 15, 1918, in the Yukon Territory, she lived in Minersville in Trinity County from 1920 to 1935 before settling in San Pablo. She recently moved to Fairfield.
She was a homemaker, an employee for BG's boutique in the El Portal Center in San Pablo and other floral shops, a member of Sobrante Valley Baptist Church, a member of MacArthur Community Baptist Church in San Pablo, a volunteer for the Salvation Army and a member of Rollingwood Garden Club.
Survivors include son Steve of Weaverville; daughters Marguerite "Peggy" Dickinson of Fairfield and Mary June Underwood of San Pablo; stepdaughter Doris Callahan of Weaverville; 14 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Esley Welch
COTTONWOOD - Esley J. Welch, 65, of Cottonwood died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, at Mercy Medical Center in Redding.
Private family services will be conducted.
Burial will be at Cottonwood District Cemetery.
Born Nov. 20, 1935, in Wichita Falls, Texas, he moved to Shasta County in 1978 from Fairfield. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include wife Jo; sons Bill and Gene, both of Cottonwood; daughters Nancy Shaver of Anderson and Stacy Cline of Yreka; brothers Hubert of Anderson and Alvin of Louisiana; and 12 grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Anderson's Chapel in Anderson.
Laura Waldo
MONTGOMERY CREEK - Laura Alice Waldo, 94, of Montgomery Creek died Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, at her son's residence.
Private family services and inurnment will be at El Camino Cemetery
in San Diego.
Born May 8, 1906, in Big Rapids, Mich., she moved to Shasta County three months ago from San Diego.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include son Raymond of Montgomery Creek; sister Orinda Snyder of Caledonia, Mich.; and one grandchild.

Robert Conner
COVELO - Former Redding and Manton resident Robert Stuart Conner, 83, of Covelo died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at SunBridge Care Center for Willits.
Memorial services will be conducted at a later date.
Born July 19, 1917, in Vacaville, he moved from Tehama County to Covelo in 1960.
He was an owner/operator of a dairy farm in Redding and Manton. He also built the Manton Rodeo Grounds on his property in Manton.
Survivors include son Robert of Covelo; daughter Alice May Jarr of Alabama; sister Mary Jane Martini of Los Angeles; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Born Dec. 2, 1922, in Stilwell, Okla., she moved to Shasta County in 1976 from San Jose.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include husband Nolen; son Ken Hill of Happy Valley; daughter Barbara Hill of Happy Valley; sister Pearl Schrader of San Diego; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

REDDING - Services for Fou Choy Luke Liew, 9-month-old son of Yao Chio Liew and Farm Hor Saechao of Redding, will be at 11 a.m. today at Lawncrest Chapel in Redding.
Burial will be at Lawncrest Memorial Park in Redding.
Fou Choy died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at Mercy Medical Center in Redding.
Born March 27, 2000, in Redding, he was a lifelong resident of Shasta County.
